Rapper Tory Lanez Stabbed In Prison & Hospitalized After Lungs Collapsed

Rapper Tory Lanez was stabbed inside a California prison where he is serving a ten-year sentence. The artist has been hospitalized following the incident. Lanez was imprisoned after being convicted of shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion at Kylie Jenner's pool party in 2020.
In December 2022, he was found guilty on three charges related to the shooting. The rapper officially began serving his sentence in September 2023.
Hip-hop star Tory Lanez was in the hospital after being stabbed by a fellow inmate. The official spokesperson for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation revealed the stabbing took place on May 12 around 7.20 am at Tehachapi (via USA Today).
On Lanez's official Instagram, fans found an update regarding the attack that he faced. As per the post, Lanez has suffered '7 wounds to his back.' He has four wounds on his torso, two 'to the back of his head,' and one 'to the left side of his face.'
The post further revealed that both of Lanez's lungs 'collapsed.' He had to be placed on a breathing apparatus initially. However, the singer is now 'breathing on his own.' Despite being in pain, Lanez is 'talking normally' and 'in good spirits.'
Even while serving his jail term, Lanez has been active on social media. A week back, the rapper posted an update regarding his upcoming album release. The 'Say It' crooner teased that the new album will have a new genre, 'Sl—- Bass.'
In 2025, Lanez has already dropped an album, titled Peterson, on March 7, 2025. The eighth studio album of the Canadian rapper consisted of twenty tracks. Among the tracks, 'Free Tory' and 'Free Me' reflected on Lanez's feelings regarding his trial.
After the news of his stabbing surfaced, fans are bringing back lyrics of 'Free Me,' where Lanez directly talks about incidents like 'stabbing.' The lyrics say, 'Some of them will watch you get stabbed and won't stop it/ They know who gon' run away and they know who gon' chop ya.'
The authorities have not revealed any clear motive for the attack. One source reportedly told TMZ that Lanez got his treatment at a civilian hospital in Bakersfield.

Diddy prosecutors argue rapper used inner circle, money to cover up alleged sex crimes in closing arguments

Print Close By Lauryn Overhultz Published June 26, 2025 The prosecution in Sean "Diddy" Combs' sex-trafficking and racketeering trial began closing arguments Thursday morning. Prosecutors argued the disgraced music mogul used his inner circle, money and influence to cover up the alleged crimes he committed. Authorities charged Diddy with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. "Over the last several weeks, you've learned a lot about Sean Combs," Assistant U.S. Attorney Christine Slavik said during closing statements. "He's a leader of a criminal enterprise. He doesn't take no for an answer." The alleged crimes Diddy committed include kidnapping, arson, forced labor and bribery, according to the prosecution. "The brutal crimes at the heart of this case – sex trafficking," Slavik noted. DIDDY PROSECUTORS ABANDON MULTIPLE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST RAPPER DAYS BEFORE TRIAL'S END The prosecution reminded the jury of testimony from Diddy's ex-girlfriends Cassie Ventura and Jane, who testified under a pseudonym. Both claimed they were repeatedly forced to have sex with other men at the direction of the "Last Night" rapper. According to prosecutors, Diddy used power and fear to get what he wanted. The government compared the 2016 attack on Cassie at the InterContinental Hotel and the alleged physical altercation Jane said she experienced in 2024. The two incidents occurred eight years apart, but the prosecution noted they have similarities. In March 2016, Diddy became violent with Cassie, threw her to the ground and dragged her back to the room. In June 2024, Diddy became violent with Jane. He allegedly dragged her back to the house by her hair. The prosecution argued that the alleged criminal enterprise serviced Diddy's desires. The rapper seemingly counted on silence and shame. He thought "fame, wealth, and power put him above the law," Slavik claimed. No one stopped him, according to the government. Diddy used his inner circle, money and influence to cover up alleged crimes. "He wouldn't take no for an answer," Slavik repeated. WATCH: GOVERNMENT 'TICKED OFF' ALL THE BOXES IN DIDDY CASE, EXPERT DIDDY PROSECUTION'S MOVE COULD DAMAGE CREDIBILITY WITH JURY, EXPERT WARNS Diddy's defense will begin their closing arguments on Friday. His team allegedly planned to invoke the Iran conflict during closing arguments, according to TMZ . The government seemingly objected to this strategy after court Tuesday. "Given that the attorneys who will be giving summations won't be here tomorrow, I wanted to put something on the record that I hope will not be necessary, but my hope is that we don't have to object during defense summation," Assistant U.S. Attorney Maurene Comey said. "I really don't want to do that. So I just wanted to put on the record that we think it would be objectionable and crossing a line for any summation to bring up politics or current events or the propriety of this prosecution and the use of government resources. I would hope that Mr. Agnifilo would not cross over those lines, but I just wanted to say that if he did, I would object in the middle of his summation and ask the Court to instruct the jury to disregard any comments like that. So I just wanted to state that in advance of summations and the hope that it's not necessary." The prosecution noted this issue had been brought up in one of the government's motions in limine. "I believe at that time there was an agreement by the defense not to engage in any of that type of argument," Judge Arun Subramanian said. "But, Mr. Agnifilo, anything to worry about here?" "Nothing to worry about, Judge," Diddy's defense lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, responded. LIKE WHAT YOU'RE READING? Should we normalize baby showers for men? Some expecting dads think so

There's a sweet little baby shower video doing the rounds on Instagram right now, and I haven't stopped thinking about it. The adorable video was shared by @themelaninatedmomma, a heavily pregnant US woman showing a giant mountain of diapers, wipes and baby gifts stacked high in her living room, gifts from a surprise baby shower thrown for her husband by his workmates. And look, I don't care how emotionally dead inside you are, if that doesn't warm your cold, crusty heart, I don't know what will. Dads deserve celebrating too The video itself is wholesome, but it's the comments that really drive it home: 'My husband's coworkers did this when I was pregnant. He came home all kinds of excited – mainly women, one made a cake, another did an amazing gift basket full of necessities. I will never forget how they included him in the baby excitement too!' 'Wait can we stop and acknowledge and really enjoy the fact that they threw a baby shower for their male coworker because they are supporting his fatherhood. This is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!! Fathers need to be part of the transition too!! Yes!!!!!' 3 The adorable video was shared by @themelaninatedmomma, a heavily pregnant US woman showing a giant mountain of diapers, wipes and baby gifts stacked high in her living room, gifts from a surprise baby shower thrown for her husband by his workmates. @themelaninatedmomma/Instagram 3 Many new fathers have had baby showers in recent years. pressmaster – 'We forget that the dads need spoiling too. I know this is a bunch of wipes and nappies but it's one less thing for them to think about for a few months.' And this gem: 'We had one of these for a male coworker – it was a blast watching this big guy holding up the little garments. I highly recommend!' Honestly, what's not to love about Big Kev from logistics delicately holding a Bonds Wondersuit and pretending not to cry? Modern dads are all in Here's the thing. Baby showers for dads shouldn't be weird. Or rare. Or played off as some ironic 'dadchelor' party featuring cigars and a nappy-themed drinking game. They should be a thing – a meaningful, supportive, slightly silly rite of passage that says: mate, you're about to become someone's dad, and we're here for it. Because fatherhood? It's a big deal. And while society is improving at letting dads participate in the emotional labor of parenting, we still don't do a great job of supporting them. 3 Baby showers for dads are meant to celebrate the change in their life. pressmaster – We forget that the transition to parenthood doesn't just belong to the person carrying the baby. It's a seismic shift for dads too. The midnight panic-googling. The 'is this car seat meant to wobble like that?' anxiety. The quiet moment where it dawns on them that a tiny person will soon rely on them for everything. That stuff deserves a cake. And maybe a three-pack of muslin wraps. The modern dad is all in. He's doing the nappy changes, the swaddling, the midnight feeds. He's packing the nappy bag (badly, but still). So why do we still act like the countdown to parenthood is a spectator sport for him? Let's normalize baby showers for dads Let them unwrap bottle sterilizers with genuine enthusiasm. Let them try to guess what a nipple shield is. Let them awkwardly pin bibs to a clothesline strung across the tea room. Because as much as we laugh at the idea of Alan from accounting playing 'Guess the Baby Food,' we're also giving him a moment. A marker. A way of saying: this huge, wonderful, terrifying thing is happening to you too. And let's be honest, it's not just about gifts (though no one's turning down a bulk box of Huggies). It's about the symbolism. The support. The team huddle before game day. We've done a lot of work in recent years to shift how we see modern fatherhood. Dads aren't 'helping' anymore – they're parenting. Properly. And that deserves to be recognized, celebrated, and yes, showered. So next time your mate, brother, barista or boss announces they're about to become a dad, don't just slap them on the back and say, 'Good luck, mate.' Throw him a bloody baby shower. Let the big guy hold up the tiny socks. Let the office mums go rogue with a gift hamper. Let it be fun, supportive, and full of nappies. Because parenthood doesn't start in the delivery room – it starts with community. And everyone deserves to feel the love, right from day one. Even Big Kev.
