After a stellar college career, Taylor Jones is taking her talent overseas. The former Longhorn signed with Lointek Gernika Bizkaia on Thursday. As she begins her professional career in Spain, Jones leaves behind a memorable legacy in Austin full of unforgettable moments.
During her time as a Longhorn, Jones was a scoring machine, recording 1,117 points in 98 games. She also made her presence felt on the boards with 6262 rebounds, including 237 that came on the offensive end. Regardless of the opponent, the talented center found a way to make an impact. Due to her play, Jones added some hardware to her trophy case.
Her accolades as a Longhorn include Lisa Leslie Center of the Year finalist honors for the 2024-2025 campaign. The Dallas Christian High School product was also an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection during the 2023-2024 campaign. Those are just two examples of how she made headlines while in Austin.
Over the last few months, Jones has stayed busy preparing for her next opportunity. In April, she was invited to the USA Basketball 3x3 developmental camp. There, the Texas native got to showcase her skills against some of the best talent in the nation.
Although fans will have to adjust their clocks to keep track of Jones, she will have a large following in Austin. She was part of a Longhorns team that nearly won a national title just a few months ago. Now she can continue adding to her impressive resume for a team that will improve by having her in the lineup.

When will former Thunder Dillon Jones receive his NBA championship ring?

As is tradition, Opening Night will be about the Oklahoma City Thunder. The NBA champions will kick off the 2025-26 regular season when they host the Houston Rockets. The pregame ceremony will be as intriguing to watch as the game itself. They will drop their title banner and be handed their ring. Once the festivities are over, the Thunder will start their championship reign. They're a popular pick to repeat as champions. They sit at the mountaintop knowing they're going to get the best shot of the other 29 teams in the league. Before they fully move on from their 2025 NBA Finals win, though, they have one small afterparty left to celebrate one of the greatest teams in league history. One of the reasons why the Thunder are viewed as the consensus favorite is their continuity. Besides some bottom of the depth chart changes, the Thunder will run it back with the same roster. Because of that, there will be at least one more pregame ring ceremony after Opening Night. Dillon Jones will return to OKC early in the season. The Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Washington Wizards on Thursday, Oct. 30. It should be a mundane blowout as both teams are on opposite sides of the NBA highway. Before that happens, though, Jones will receive his championship ring. The Thunder traded Jones in a salary dump deal. The 23-year-old had a forgettable rookie season that turned out to be his only year in OKC. He won an NBA championship out of it and now hopes to get rotation minutes in a rebuild situation. It'll be fun to see Jones receive his championship ring. He's the only player who left the Thunder's standard roster. Everybody else will be back next season as they hope to get another NBA championship.

Gunnar Helm impresses in second NFL preseason game

Gunnar Helm flashes his potential against the Falcons' secondary In the NFL Draft just a few months ago, the Tennessee Titans made Gunnar Helm's dream come true when they picked him in the fourth round. The Titans envisioned Helm being a weapon in the passing game like he was at Texas. After a quiet preseason opener, he flashed his potential on Saturday afternoon against the Atlanta Falcons. Against the Falcons' secondary, the former Longhorn led the Titans in receptions with four and receiving yards with 48. He also found the end zone once and averaged 12 yards a catch. For many in Tennessee, it was a welcome sign after Helm recorded just one catch last week against the Buccaneers. As Helm got more settled in looked like the tight end who was a popular target for Arch Manning and Quinn Ewers. In his last season as a Longhorn, Helm set career highs in receptions with 60, receiving yards with 786, and games played with 16. He was also a popular target in the red zone, adding seven touchdowns to his resume. Due to his play, Helm was a popular prospect leading up to the draft. When the Titans got the chance, they added him to a tight end room that includes a few veteran pieces. At the moment, Chig Okonkwo is listed as the starter. However, he only has one year left on his rookie deal, which could open more playing time for Helm if he can replicate his success from the 2024 campaign. With the regular season quickly approaching, it will be interesting to see how Helm is used. He has the potential to be a threat in the passing game and is making the most of his opportunities. However, he will have to battle with a highly motivated Okonkwo who is looking to prove he deserves a long-term deal. Regardless of who the depth chart shakes out, Helm showed on Saturday just how much of an impact he can make with the ball in his hands.

Anthony Richardson fantasy football preview 2025: Stats, season outlook, predictions

Rotoworld Staff, Anthony Richardson 2025 Fantasy Preview 2024: Richardson started the year with the Colts throwing two long touchdowns and running for another against the Texans in Week 1, a narrow loss. Then, you know, the normal quarterback growing pains. Richardson posted the worst qualifying completion percentage in a decade, the worst since Tim Tebow in 2011. He quit on a play in Houston because he was tired, leading to many Shouting Man Points At Screen clips. He continued to invent new ways to hurt himself, culminating in the second straight early OTA/minicamp period where he was sidelined with shoulder soreness in the shoulder where he had an AC joint surgery in 2023. The Colts signed Daniel Jones on purpose. You know, the usual things that young quarterbacks deal with. What's changed: It's hard to believe that Richardson will beat out Jones for the quarterback job based on the head start Jones had in the early offseason. Richardson worked out with quarterback guru Tom Gormely, who helped improve Josh Allen's accuracy. In theory, you know, you probably shouldn't bet on Jones playing 17 games. But we're not going to tell you that it's roses and sunshine right now for Richardson. 2025 Outlook: There's a high fantasy football ceiling on Richardson because he runs and he's a ridiculous athlete. But it's hard to believe that ceiling will come to fruition from the vantage point we see before training camp starts. Richardson will likely be a viable bye week streamer at some point this season because of his legs, but nobody needs to spend a pick in the first 12 rounds on him right now. It's up to him to prove the Colts, the fantasy football industry, and all logic wrong at this point. Get personalized fantasy football insights based on your league settings with FantasyLife+.
