Lemperle reportedly suffered a broken nose and a gash on his face on Sunday evening, according to German outlet Bild.
The report claims that the striker was out with friends in a borough of Cologne.
A fight broke out in a boathouse bar near the bank of the River Rhine with another group, before things settled down.
But Lemperle and his pals were allegedly attacked while leaving the venue later at 9pm local time.

The 23-year-old former Frankfurt star was taken to a local hospital where he stayed overnight until Monday morning.
Koln boss Friedhelm Funkel hasn't had any contact with Lemperle, who was forced to miss training on Monday afternoon.
Funkel said: "I know he was physically assaulted on Sunday. He sustained facial injuries.
"The likelihood of him playing on Sunday is slim. It can't be completely dismissed, but it is slim. I can't say anything more about it."

The police are investigating the incident and appealing for witnesses.
Lemperle has scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 24 second division appearances this season.
And he was nailed on starter for the final, after having been named in the starting XI in 22 out of 24 league games this term.
FC Koln finished second in Bundesliga 2, behind Hamburg who were automatically promoted to end a seven-year absence from the German top flight.

Farmer who found lost German backpacker in Outback reveals moment she found the tourist who ‘slept in a cave to survive'

Tania French discovered a dishevelled Carolina Wilga, 26, on the side of a remote stretch of road 12 days after the German first vanished. After pulling over, Tania comforted Carolina and gave her a big hug and told the woman about the desperate search efforts over her. Tania told 7News: "I stopped. I went out and gave her a hug, I said, 'look, everyone has been looking for you.' "She couldn't believe it. She didn't realise how long [she had been missing]." Carolina then called the farmer from Wheatbelt, Western Australia, her "guardian angel". Tania was picking up a truck from Beacon on Friday - about 186 miles northeast of Perth - when she first spotted Carolina. The road she was travelling down is a rarely used route for locals and tourists with Tania saying her seeing the German was "meant to be". "The chance of me going down that road and meeting up with her was incredible," the farmer said. "It was meant to be, because no one goes up and down that road." She added the backpacker looked noticeably thin but appeared in good health despite not being seen or heard from since June 29. Missing backpacker found ALIVE after nearly two weeks wandering Oz bushland Police believed Carolina had become disoriented and walked into bushland after her van broke down in the Karroun Hill area in Western Australia's outback. The region is said to be an unforgiving expanse, described by authorities as remote, rocky and inhospitable. After spending a night trying to repair the vehicle, Carolina decided to go off and find help on her own. With minimal food and water, the German backpacker followed the sun's position to head west. The temperature in the area had dropped down to zero degrees at night and there was heavy rain. At one point, she even reportedly sought refuge inside a cave and drank water from puddles to survive. A Facebook page titled 'Help Find Carolina was launched to assist the search as WA Police issued an urgent nationwide appeal for information. Cops managed to track her last known texts which were sent to a friend in the early hours of June 29. 9 Carolina was in a van travelling through the Outback when she broke down and tried to walk to safety Credit: AFP 9 She was spotted wearing a long beige jumper and light blue jeans before she went missing Credit: Western Australia Police Force 9 Carolina had been backpacking across Australia for two years Credit: AFP At 7am, Carolina reportedly said she wouldn't be able to drop off a book and a jerry can to her pal because she had 'some stuff she needed to handle'. She was then spotted in the van at a local store in the tiny town of Beacon on June 29 at around 12.10pm. She went missing the following day. The van — equipped with solar panels and water — was later found on Thursday, but there was no sign of the missing woman. Tania would be the first person to see Carolina after the ordeal as she informed police of her incredible discovery. WA police's Martin Glynn told reporters on Friday that Carolina is now in good health and recovering. He said: 'As you can imagine, from the trauma she suffered for the last few days, she's been obviously through a great deal. 'She does have some injuries. She's been ravaged by mosquitoes." EFL star sparks furious brawl and chased by opponents after ‘one of the worst tackles you'll ever see in a friendly'

NOTTS COUNTY'S Barry Cotter was shown a straight red card for one of "the worst challenges you'll ever see in a friendly". The tackle was so bad it sparked a furious brawl and chaotic scenes as tempers boiled over in Germany. 3 3 The EFL defender completely lost his head midway through the first half of the pre-season clash against Bundesliga 2 outfit FC Kaiserslautern. With his side already trailing 3-0 inside ten calamitous minutes, Cotter threw in a brutal kick to the ankle of a Kaiserslautern winger from behind, after being beaten by a brilliant change of pace. The reckless challenge sent the home side into uproar, prompting several players to chase Cotter down the pitch. Players from both sides clashed in the aftermath, with Kaiserslautern stars having to be restrained as Cotter was ushered away by team-mates before the referee pulled out a straight red card. The incident appeared to stem from frustration after Matt Palmer was bundled over moments earlier, only for the referee to wave play on. Seconds later, Cotter lost control and the result was a shocking tackle that would've looked bad in a league game, let alone a friendly. Fans took to social media to express their concern once the footage was shared online. One wrote: 'This tackle by Notts County's Barry Cotter is one of the worst you'll ever see in a friendly match.' However, another saw the funny side, saying: 'Why is that even a red? It's a yellow at most for a tactical foul.' While a third commented: 'Done it on purpose because he got mugged off.' It capped off a miserable night for the EFL side, who were blown away by the German hosts inside the opening ten minutes. Three rapid-fire goals left the visitors shell-shocked, with Kaiserslautern slicing through their defence with ease. Down to ten men for over an hour, Paterson's men dug in and limited the damage but a second-half set-piece goal sealed a bruising 4-0 defeat.

Vaclav Cerny makes transfer intentions clear as Rangers stars told the truth by Russell Martin over ins and outs

The Czech Republic wide-man was a big hit during his Ibrox loan spell Vaclav Cerny has dropped a major hint that he is on the brink of joining Besiktas. The Wolfsburg loanee impressed in his year-long loan at Rangers last season but is expected to be moved on by the Bundesliga side this summer. ‌ As well as Beskitas, Cerny has also been linked with domestic rivals Trabzonspor, while reports in Italy also claim he is on the radar of Serie A club Torino. ‌ But the latest social media activity from the Czech Republic star has suggested that he is close to joining the Istanbul giants. Via his Instagram account, the 27-year-old liked a post by Turkey international midfielder Orkun Kokcu, who has just sealed a loan move to Besiktas from Benfica in Portugal. Russell Martin has bolstered his squad with five new faces, as well as Lyall Cameron's pre-arranged arrival from Dundee. But the former Southampton boss also knows that in order to balance the books, several players will have to be shown the door. The likes of Rabbi Matondo, Clinton Nsiala and Ben Davies have also been linked with moves elsewhere while Martin has confirmed that defender Robin Proper is poised to re-join FC Twente just 12 months after his exit from the Eredivisie side. ‌ And during Gers training camp at the England national team's St George's Park training complex last week, Martin made an honest assessment about the players who are currently on the fringes of the squad. He said: "I think the plan's been pretty consistent all the way through, really. From the time we first spoke about it, from the time I first got the job. We sat down and spoke about the squad structure, how it's made up. "And not just in terms of ability and positions, but character, experience, development, players that have the potential to become real assets for the club. So, there needs to be a healthy balance of all of it. ‌ "And I think we're pretty much... Listen, we all want... I'd rather have a few more players in now, but you'd rather wait and get the right ones. I think everyone, every situation is different. Every situation is different. "But, yeah, I think you can probably ascertain that if they're not here, they're not involved with us, they've either been close to something else, or they're just not needed in their position this week, because we have a lot of players."
