Saoirse Ronan stars in brilliant new Talking Heads music video
The band have released a video for their 1977 hit Psycho Killer
The 31-year-old actress features in the group's first official music video for their 1977 hit song Psycho Killer.
The American band released the video to mark 50 years since their first show in 1975.
Posting a clip to Instagram, the band said: 'This video makes the song better - We LOVE what this video is NOT – it's not literal, creepy, bloody, physically violent or obvious.'
The video was directed by Mike Mills, who pitched the idea to the band via Zoom.
'The last thing you want to do is pin down or reduce what the song is about. The song is so much more than being psychotic or killing,' he told Vulture.
'At first, I was totally daunted. I was like, 'How the f*ck do you make a video for 'Psycho Killer' for my art heroes? It's impossible. I can't think of that idea, it's too hard'. Then walking down my hallway, the idea came to me in a flash.
'Saoirse isn't at all a psycho killer or anything. It's the environment and that life and false normality.'

The video follows Ronan's character over a number of days as she goes about her normal life before seemingly descending into madness.
'There's something violent about the false normality of all the people around her,' Mills said, referring to the background characters such as her colleagues, boyfriend, and therapist.
'There's something violent in the banality of it all. It's psychic violence, but it's still hostile to me. I don't think normality actually exists. It's a construct.'
Mills said he cast Ronan in the video because she is also a huge fan of the group.
'I said, 'Hey, do you know this band?' It turns out she got married to 'This Must Be the Place,' grew up listening to them, and had her own connection.'
'She wrote back right away, 'Hell yes, what are you talking about?!''
'I think there were 300 shots in the whole video. There were few people I thought of who could handle it,' he added.
