BTS is back: New album and world tour coming in 2026

After a three-year hiatus marked by military service and solo ventures, global K-pop phenomenon BTS plans to reunite with a new album and world tour next spring that will likely bring the band back to the Bay Area.
All seven members — Jin, RM, V, Jimin, J-Hope, Jungkook and Suga — appeared together for the first time since 2022 in a livestream on Tuesday, July 1, on the fan platform Weverse to reveal their long-awaited return.
'Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music,' the band said in a statement. 'Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member's thoughts and ideas. We're approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started.'
The announcement also noted a global tour, their first since 2021's 'Permission to Dance On Stage' concerts.
BTS plans to start work in the U.S. this month, according to a statement from Hybe, the group's management company.
The comeback follows the completion of South Korea's mandatory military service by all members.
Jin was the first to enlist in December 2022 and the first to be discharged in June 2024. J-Hope enlisted in April 2023 and was discharged in October 2024. Suga began his service in September 2023, while RM, V, Jimin and Jungkook all enlisted December 2023. All four returned this past spring.
In South Korea, all able-bodied men between the ages of 18 to 28 are required by law to perform 18 to 21 months of military service under a conscription system meant to deter aggression from rival North Korea.
J-Hope, who last performed in the Bay Area in 2018, returned to Oakland Arena this spring for his solo 'Hope on the Stage' tour.
BTS's forthcoming release will mark the first group album since 2020's 'Be.' Fans can expect a preview of what's to come with the live album 'BTS Permission to Dance on Stage — Seoul,' set for release July 18.

BTS Announce Their Big Return and Plans for Music in 2026

ARMY, the wait is finally over! After a two year hiatus, the K-Pop band BTS have officially announced their big return and already have major plans lined up for fans in the upcoming year. In a special Weverse livestream, the seven band members—j-hope, Jimin, Jin, Jung Kook, RM, SUGA, and V—revealed that they will be heading to the United States to work on some new music, according to a press release from HYBE. "We'll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year. Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member's thoughts and ideas. We're approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started," the band said. The album, which is set to be released in spring 2026, is just one part of BTS's big reunion. The band also announced plans for a world tour. Their last set of concerts, part of the Permission to Dance on Stage tour, were in 2022 with shows in only four different cities both in Korea and the United States. Fans don't have to wait too long to hear something new from the band thanks to the upcoming live album, 'Permission to Dance on Stage – Live,' which will be released on July 18, 2025. Katseye Rises Higher Than Ever With A Brand New Single

Katseye's 'Gabriella' debuts at No. 42 on the U.K. Official Singles chart and No. 64 on the ... More streaming list, giving the girl group its highest-charting release to date. SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA - JUNE 21: (L-R) Lara Raj, Yoonchae, Daniela, Manon, Megan and Sophia of KATSEYE attend the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2025 at Barker Hangar on June 21, 2025 in Santa Monica, California. (Photo byfor Nickelodeon) After being created on the reality series Dream Academy, Katseye, which was formed as a joint effort between K-pop giant Hybe and Geffen Records, released its first EP SIS (Soft Is Strong) in the summer of 2024. The girl group, which includes members from several different nations but which is based in Los Angeles, made fans wait almost a year before sharing its new short project, Beautiful Chaos. The EP arrived on June 27, and its second single, which was pushed just days before the project dropped in full, brings the still-rising band to new heights on several rankings in the United Kingdom, where the musicians have found a solid fanbase. Katseye's Single 'Gabriella' Debuts on the U.K. Charts 'Gabriella' debuts on a pair of tallies in the U.K. The Beautiful Chaos track enters the Official Streaming chart at No. 64. The song almost breaks into the top 40 on the Official Singles ranking, which lists the biggest tunes of any style or language in the country by blending several forms of consumption. On that roster, it opens at No. 42. In both instances, 'Gabriella' brings Katseye to a never-before-seen peak, although the girl group is still just getting started in the U.K. 'Gnarly' Debuted Only a Few Weeks Ago The band has only landed a pair of hits on those rankings, as its debut smash in that nation, 'Gnarly,' arrived only a few weeks ago. 'Gnarly' peaked at No. 52 on the Official Singles chart and No. 93 on the Official Streaming list, barely becoming one of the 100 most played cuts throughout the U.K. for just one frame. Both of Katseye's Singles Chart Together Katseye's entire charting discography, which at the moment is made up of only 'Gabriella' and 'Gnarly,' appear together on the Official Singles list as 'Gabriella' opens at No. 42 and 'Gnarly' rises nine spaces to No. 74 in its eighth week on that ranking. Beautiful Chaos May Be a Big Win for Katseye There is a very good chance that Beautiful Chaos will also bring Katseye to new peaks when it reaches the U.K. charts in a few days. SIS (Soft Is Strong) stalled just underneath the top 40 last summer when it arrived, and as the new EP includes two hit songs, the girl group may be headed for some special highs.
