Elton John says his piece to godson Brooklyn Beckham at swanky lunch with Nicola Peltz as family feud escalates

The Sun6 days ago
HE famously penned The Bitch Is Back - and certainly Sir Elton John has loved nothing more than a cat fight in days gone by.
But three months on from patching up his long-running feud with Madonna, it seems the veteran superstar is a reformed character.

His latest peacemaking efforts? Patching up the increasingly acrimonious family row tearing the Beckham clan apart.
In his role as Brooklyn 's beloved godfather, the 78-year-old singer is fast becoming something of a showbusiness diplomat, The Sun can reveal - helping Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola, patch things up with his good pals David and Victoria.
Alongside husband David Furnish, Elton treated the young couple to a slap-up lunch at one of Cannes 's trendiest beach clubs.
Here, I'm told, the quartet 'briefly' touched on the family feud before sticking to more neutral territory.
'Elton is the showbiz equivalent of Switzerland,' says a source.
'He's utterly neutral in this row.
'Elton of old may have relished in taking sides - in this case his young godson, Brooklyn - but two years off his 80th birthday, he's a man who has seen and done it all. He just wants everyone to be happy.
'There is no side-taking as such; he simply adores his godson, and really has a laugh with Nicola who he thinks has a great sense of humour.
"He wants to look after them in his role as 'spiritual adviser' as a godfather, it's a role he takes seriously.
'Elton and David think the situation is terribly sad, and has gently suggested to all involved that life is short - to patch things up.
David and Victoria Beckham's agony as family feud explodes into WW3 and pals say 'Brooklyn has totally cut them off'
'They had a really fun long lunch in the South of France, where Elton and David have a beautiful villa, and besides a very brief chat on the subject that dare rear its name, they discussed loads of other, much more light-hearted matters.
'Just wants peace'
'Elton has said his bit - he is adamant he doesn't want to stick his nose in and p*** off either party. He just wants peace.'
Whilst teetotal Elton stuck to sparkling mineral water, Brooklyn sunk beers and the US actress, 30, stuck to Aperol Spritz at La Guerite beach club.
Dining on seafood - the restaurant's signature lobster linguine comes in at an eye-watering £190 - generous Elton is understood to have picked up the entire tab for the party of six.
At present, peace still seems a long way off - although all parties, clearly, are 'sick' of the animosity, adds an insider.
However, in October Victoria's long-awaited Netflix documentary is due for release.
It is understood she will not touch on the feud - although she has promised there will be 'tears' in the four-parter.
Nicola and Brooklyn will not feature - but that is because no scenes were filmed with them.
Victoria and her team are currently in the edit suite, finessing the series.

A source added: ' The children hardly feature - it's simply not a case of Brooklyn and Nicola being cut, as they weren't in it to start with.
'This is very much a project focussing on Victoria's transaction from pop star to businesswoman and designer.'
I'm told, however, that Victoria comes across 'brilliantly' - continuing from her scene-stealing one-liners in her husband's own four-parter.
It will showcase her transition from Spice Girl to one of the world's most revered fashion designers, against the backdrop of early naysayers.
Fittingly, one of Brooklyn and Nicola's last public sightings alongside Posh n Becks came back in May 2023.
The foursome enjoyed a no expense spared night out in a box At London 's O2 for the star's final gig of his retirement tour, one hosted by the former England captain.
In March the multi- Grammy winner famously made-up with his frenemy, Madonna, after a row spanning two decades.
After repeatedly accusing the American singer of lip-syncing, the pair patched up their differences when she went down to confront him following an appearance on SNL.
She later took to Instagram with a photo of the duo, revealing they had kissed and made up.
To which Elton thanked Madonna for "forgiving me and my big mouth".
The singer added he was not proud of what he had said over the years, adding: "I'm increasingly distressed by all the divisiveness in our world at the moment," he said in a comment on her Instagram post.
"By pulling together, I'm hopeful that we can make great things happen for those who really need support, and have a lot of fun doing it."

The Beckham Family Feud
April 2022: Brooklyn marries Nicola Peltz.
Wedding Dress Controversy: Rumours begin circulating that there's tension between Nicola and Victoria Beckham after Nicola chooses not to wear a Victoria Beckham-designed wedding gown. Nicola later clarifies in August 2022 (and again in March 2023) that Victoria's atelier couldn't make the dress in time, but reports in May 2025 suggest Victoria actually changed her mind about making the dress.
Post-Wedding (2022 onwards): Minimal interaction between Nicola and Victoria on social media, and noticeable absence of Nicola at key Beckham family events.
Alleged Wedding "Hijack": In May 2025, a source claimed Victoria "ruined" part of the wedding by allegedly hijacking a dance with Marc Anthony, which was meant for Brooklyn and Nicola. Nicola reportedly ran from the room crying.
March 2025: A resurfaced TikTok of Romeo and Cruz mimicking a "baby voice" (which fans associate with Nicola) sparks speculation of sibling shade.
April 2025: Brooklyn and Nicola are reportedly absent from Victoria Beckham's 51st birthday celebrations in Miami and her Paris Fashion Week show.
May 2025: David Beckham's 50th Birthday Snub: Brooklyn and Nicola are notably absent from David Beckham's 50th birthday celebrations in London, despite being invited. Reports suggest their absence was due to Brooklyn not wanting to be in the same room as Kim Turnbull, the girlfriend of Romeo who had previously been reported to have been dating Brooklyn, who David allegedly opted to have at the party over Nicola.
Rumours emerge of a falling out between Brooklyn and his younger brother Romeo, reportedly due to Romeo's new girlfriend, DJ Kim Turnbull, who allegedly had a past connection with Brooklyn.
Reports surface that the Beckham parents are "hurt and disappointed" that Brooklyn is "playing no part in family life." Sources claim that tensions between Brooklyn and Nicola and his parents are "definitely not beyond repair."
June 2025: Brooklyn and Nicola reportedly enlist a "crisis team" similar to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for "reputation management" due to the growing media scrutiny.
Cruz Beckham posts cryptic lyrics on Instagram that some interpret as a swipe at Brooklyn.
July 2025: Reports indicate David and Victoria are "desperate" to reconcile with Brooklyn. Brooklyn publicly wishes his sister Harper a happy 14th birthday on Instagram, tagging Nicola, which is seen as a potential "olive branch" and a rare public message to his family amid the rumored rift.
Brooklyn UNFOLLOWS his brothers Romeo and Cruz just 24 hours after his birthday message to Harper. Nicola quickly follows suit and also ditches the Beckham bros from her Instagram following. Romeo and Cruz are now also no longer following Brooklyn.

Star Wars movie reclassified due to this classic scene

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace has been reclassified by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) from a universal (U) rating to parental guidance (PG). The change was made due to "moderate violence" in a lightsaber fight, starship dogfights, and laser weapons, including a scene with brief "bloody detail". The reclassification was revealed in the BBFC's 2024 annual report and applied to the film 's cinema re-release last year. Other films also saw rating changes, with A Star Is Born moving from U to 12 due to implied suicide, and US TV comedy series Fraser from PG to 12 for language and drug references. These updates coincide with the BBFC classifying the highest number of films in its 112-year history in 2023, following new guidelines on sex scenes, violence, and drug misuse.

Heidi Klum talks judgment over 17-year age gap with husband Tom Kaulitz... and giving each other matching tattoos

Heidi Klum wasn't planning to meet the love of her life the night she met Tom Kaulitz. In fact, she almost didn't go out. 'I really wanted to stay home,' the supermodel, 52, recalled in a new interview with People. 'But then I gave myself a little kick in the butt.' That spontaneous decision to attend a friend's party turned into what Klum now calls 'the sliding door moment' of her life. Seven years later, the supermodel and the Tokio Hotel guitarist, who got engaged in December 2018 and married just two months later, are still going strong. Kaulitz, 35, offered Klum, a mother of four, a 'clean slate' after two previous marriages — first to celebrity hairstylist Ric Pipino in 1997 and then to British singer-songwriter Seal, with whom she was married for seven years. But with new love came old habits. 'At first I wanted to [project] what I had learned from different men I had been with… like 'Ooh, this reminds me of something that happened, is that a flag?'' she admitted. Ultimately, it was Kaulitz who challenged her to let go of her baggage. The Project Runway revealed, early in their relationship, Kaulitz said: 'Don't do this to me, because I'm not this person, I'm not that person. Scratch everything. I have to have a fair chance.' Doing this allowed their love to blossom as evidenced by their loved-up red carpet appearances and PDA-filled social media posts. The couple also enjoy a number of shared activities, including shopping for lingerie. 'He loves sitting there, and I go into the changing room and I come out with a different outfit on,' Klum shares. 'He loves me in a miniskirt. He loves me in pumps. He just loves when I get all dolled up.' The two even got matching name tattoos, though Klum jokes: 'His looks much better — so I'm the better tattoo artist.' Despite enjoying life as a wife, Klum says marriage hasn't changed her. 'This is pretty much what you get. I'm pretty loud and you know I'm there.' What keeps the relationship fresh?' she noted. She went on to credit 'stolen weekends,' 'handwritten notes,' and making time for each other for keeping them acting like newlyweds — plus 'a few things she can't share.' Although their 17-year age gap still draws attention, Klum insists she doesn't entertain the criticism. 'When our door closes at home, I don't really care so much what happens around us,' she says. 'I've learned things from my husband that I didn't know I was capable of doing,' she added. At 52, Heidi Klum continues to own her space by maintaining an unapologetically sexy and confident presence both online and offline. 'I've been photographing nude or in lingerie since 1992, way before Instagram,' she says. 'So for me, it's nothing new. For the past 15 years, other people are now doing what I've been doing for 30 years. Instead of being in my little bottoms in a magazine, I'm on Instagram. It's the same thing.' And she has no plans to tone things down. 'For me to be older, it doesn't matter. I don't have this age-shaming or body-shaming thing. I feel like everyone should do what they want to do. I like to run around sexy — even now at 52.' That's been especially evident this summer, as Klum has been island-hopping in bikinis alongside Kaulitz. She's also vocal about challenging outdated ideas about aging. 'The biggest misconception [about] being in your 50s is that you are off the shelf. You're not off the shelf,' she said. 'We are very much on that shelf for everyone to see. Don't hide in your 50s. Beauty is ever-changing, and I'm here for the change. If it's always the same, life is boring.' Having risen to fame in the 1990s, when heroin chic was popular, Klum appreciates the evolving standards of today. 'Now it's okay to be older — but it didn't use to be like that,' she said. 'I feel like we're more welcoming of wrinkles and rolls on our body. Being accepted at every age is amazing. That we've changed and come all that way.' Still, she embraces modern cosmetic options, too. 'I'm all for Botox,' she declared, noting she's intrigued by celebrities opening up about their procedures. 'Whoever wants to talk about [plastic surgery] and wants to share, give me all the numbers.' Looking ahead, Klum welcomes the journey of aging — gray hair, laugh lines, and all. 'Don't we all want to get old? I know we always say that, but it's the truth. I'm already looking at 60 and 70, hopefully 80 and 90. And if we're still kicking it then, let's celebrate,' she concluded.

Drake fans disappointed over cancelled Manchester gig

Disappointed fans have spoken to the BBC following Canadian rapper Drake's cancellation of his concert in Manchester on Monday due to "travel logistics".Monday's concert was called off due to "unforeseen ferry and travel logistics" and has been rescheduled for next week, according to a statement issued by the Co-op Live arena."The good news is that Drake will now perform in Manchester on Tuesday, August 5th, and it's set to be an unforgettable night," the statement Drake had already performed at the Manchester venue on Friday and Saturday - suggesting he was in the local area - leaving fans unimpressed by the short-notice cancellation of Monday's event. 'Leaving with disappointment' Nina, 24, bought tickets for Monday night's show in June, from her home in Orlando, Florida, and decided to plan a European road trip around the concert date, culminating in seeing her "favourite artist" in Manchester on 28 July. "I made a big sacrifice just to make this concert, but I knew it would be the highlight of my trip," she said. "Yesterday morning I received an email from Ticketmaster notifying me that the tour has been postponed, which was shocking, as I had just arrived at the airport in Amsterdam to head to Manchester."Having been on holiday in Europe since mid-July, Nina is due to fly back to the US on Tuesday, and won't be able to attend the new paid nearly £340 for her General Admission floor ticket at Co-op Live and is awaiting a refund. "I came to Manchester simply for the performance, and I'm now leaving with disappointment. "I'm truly upset, but trying to enjoy the last day of my holiday here in Europe."There are many other loyal fans, like myself, who travelled thousands of miles for this performance - who worked extremely hard to be able to afford this trip, only to be left without any public apology from Drake or his team".And this isn't the first time Nina has missed out on seeing the Canadian star. Two years ago, she travelled to Nashville, Tennessee from Orlando - only for the concert once again to be cancelled the day before. 'I spent £500 on a new fit' Carlos, 18, made the journey from Brentford, in London, on Saturday, in order to see the rapper for the first time at the concert on Monday night. "I woke up to the email that it had been cancelled on Sunday morning," said Carlos."This was meant to be the first time seeing him, and it would probably be the last - because he doesn't come to the UK a lot [and] if he does, he'll be old and it won't be the same."I spent about £500 on a new [out]fit just for the night. But it's not the clothes, I paid to see Drake."All tickets remain valid for the rescheduled date, but Co-op Live have offered fans chance to apply for a refund if they cannot make the concert on 5 August. "I'm busy that day," said Carlos, adding he has sold back his £175 says he feels fortunate because his sister lives in Manchester, so he didn't have to spend money on a hotel ahead of the concert, but feels sorry for those who've travelled a long way and spent additional money to get to the venue. "Some have actually travelled continents to see this guy!" One of the most-streamed artists in the world, Drake released his new single 'Which One' with UK rapper Central Cee last Thursday during an episode of his Iceman stream, which was filmed around the city, including at Manchester Piccadilly railway station and Victoria has been performing across the UK this summer as part of his first tour in Europe in six years.
