While it seems that a majority of people are excited for the upcoming DC Studios film "Superman" to finally hit theaters, a vocal subset of fans seem to be vehemently against the film and director James Gunn.
In a post on Reddit, a user called for fellow fans of the "Snyderverse," DC Comics movies that take place in the universe created by director Zack Snyder, to boycott "Superman" by reserving tickets without paying for them and review bombing the film online.
"Stand up and fight for SnyderVerse on July 11," the user said. "Fight for our SnyderVerse on the imposter 'Superman' release day."

"Gunn fired the first shot and killed the SnyderVerse, and here is our chance to take the fight back to him," the user concluded after detailing ways to hurt the movie financially.
Shortly afterward, Gunn replied, showing that he wasn't worried about the post having any effect on "Superman" at the box office.

"I think we will survive," Gunn said. "I'm not sure the eight people that listen to that guy (I'm going to go out on a limb and guess it's a guy) are going to impact the course of events."
Now, the Snydercut subreddit has released an official statement on the matter.

"Over the weekend, someone made a post on this subreddit suggesting that people do dishonest and questionable things with respect to an upcoming movie's release," the Snydercut moderators said after removing the post.
"The post had garnered few replies, and 0 upvotes, with no one else endorsing what it said. We later learned this post was screenshotted and shown on other social media platforms. We deleted it long before we knew that had happened.

"Our staff never approved that post and does not endorse what it said. This is a public sub, where posts do not have to be pre-approved. The mere appearance of a post on our sub does not represent any endorsement by us.
"Our moderators delete posts after they are made if they violate any of our policies or Reddit's policies. There was never any question that this post violated our policies, both explicitly and in spirit, and needed to be immediately removed.
"The post wasn't so much controversial as it was universally disapproved of. We support everyone's right to vote with their wallets by choosing not to see a movie. But we do not support any dishonesty or manipulation aimed at stopping someone else from choosing to see a movie."

Internet Stunned at Woman's Kung Fu Skills After 1 Month Training in China

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A 25-year-old woman from Australia has stunned the internet with her impressive kung fu skills, despite only training for one month at a martial arts school located near the Shaolin temple in Henan, China. Amelia Michels, a freelance marketing expert and poet, has spent the last two years of her life traveling the world, living in different places a few months at a time. In April, she joined the training program, with no prior kung fu experience, and by early May, when she left, she'd already learned some incredible skills. Driven by her desire to "find the place where not belonging makes sense," Michels had already traveled through lots of other Asian countries, including India, where she practiced yoga, and Vietnam where she learned Muay Thai. But she knew nothing about kung fu when stepped foot in China, so armed with curiosity and enthusiasm, she totally immersed herself in the school's strict schedule, pushing her limits day after day. Amelia Michels, 25-years-old is pictured performing kung fu routines she learned during her month training in China. Photo by Jackson Rule [lens + lumen] At the school, filled with a diverse crowd of international and local students of all different ages and backgrounds, her days started at 4:30 a.m., when she joined the first training session for the day, followed by breakfast and then back into action for about two to three hours. After lunch, the schedule included more afternoon training sessions, before going back to the dorms, lights down by 9:30 p.m. sharp every night. Despite the intense training, and leg pain that defied all sorts of painkillers, due to the intense stretching required, Michels says the experience was unforgettable, and her favorite part was the new friends she made along the way. "It's always about meeting the people and building relationships with them, just the small moments together, sharing dorms with strangers who then end up being super close, beautiful friends," she told Newsweek. "I had a brand new journal that I brought with me, and on the last day, I asked everyone to write something in there, a little message or something, which was super special to me." During her spare time in China, usually on Saturday afternoons and Sundays, Michels took the chance to bond with her fellow training mates, visiting nearby cities like Zhengzhou, a metropolis on the Yellow River, known for being the Shang dynasty capital, or even just renting out a hotel room to chill together and socialize. Currently back in Vietnam, Michels is once again soaking in new experiences, which she keeps sharing with her followers on social media. But her kung fu journey is not over, yet! In fact, in October she's heading to Morocco where she will attend a new kung fu training, hoping to take her skills to the next level. "Kung fu means eat bitter every day," she writes in another one of her viral Instagram posts. "Which basically means, 'do the hard thing," she said. "Do it even when you don't feel like it. It's showing up to class when your body says stay in bed. Standing in Mabu until your legs burn. Repeating the same movement, again and again, until your body remembers it without you thinking. "The goal is for it to become a moving meditation, allowing you to be fully present in the moment." Users who followed her journey at the kung fu school were stunned by how fast she learned despite the language barrier. In one of her viral videos, one user, embodiedwithbuns, said: "This looks epic. Thanks for sharing your experiences." And another one, added: "You are killing it girl." Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share? 'Jurassic World: Rebirth' Early Reactions Are Very Telling

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors The new entry in the "Jurassic World" franchise has brought in some heavy hitters. On top of A-list talent leading the cast like Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali, the new franchise chapter, also boasts action director Gareth Edwards. More news: 'King of the Hill' Revival First Clip Confirms Another Original Character's Return The film takes a dramatic turn into showcasing an island where more experimental dinosaurs live. The initial trailers not only showcased these new dinosaurs, but the internet was set ablaze by a giant T Rex that looked like it had been mashed together with a Xenomorph from the "Aliens" franchise. Either way, the new film is set for a theatrical release on July 2, and the early reviews are starting to pour in. #JurassicWorldRebirth hits every note you'd want a Jurassic film to hit, with engaging characters, a great score, great cinematography direction and incredible VFX work by @ILMVFX . I was intrigued. But the movie just feels blah. It's a string of forgettable scenes that go nowhere. One river sequence stood out, but the rest blurs together. The characters are dull, there's zero chemistry, and I found myself rooting for the dinosaurs just to feel something. The story plays out like a studio checklist—nothing gets explored, and there's no heart in it. Some of the dino designs bring back that old monster-movie vibe, but the film barely uses them. It just ends, with no momentum, no setup, and no excitement for where this franchise is headed. It's not as awful as the last few, but still feels empty." #JurassicWorldRebirth throws so much at you as you enter the Dino-riddled seas & lands that the tension sits with you throughout. Gareth Edwards knew just how to bring a Jurassic story to screen. I adore the practical movie magic of the original film. Over the years, the franchise has embraced more CGI. Rebirth is indeed loaded with effects-heavy set pieces, but those digital elements work especially well here because Edwards knew exactly how to ensure the film still had that reach-out-and-touch-it texture — particularly by choosing to film in real locations and shoot the movie on film." I've just watched Jurassic World Rebirth, and I have 2 things to say: 1) It's not good 2) Scarlett Johansson has never looked better — Seth (@sethsfilmreview) June 19, 2025 Seth has a far simpler review: "I've just watched Jurassic World Rebirth, and I have 2 things to say: 1) It's not good 2) Scarlett Johansson has never looked better." #JurassicWorldRebirth is a fantastic addition to the franchise, delivering everything you want and MORE! From the action to the cinematography, Gareth Edwards knows how to craft a great dinosaur movie. This one captures the spirit of the originals and pulls you right back in. — Draven (@DravenReacts) June 19, 2025 Draven Reacts says: "#JurassicWorldRebirth is a fantastic addition to the franchise, delivering everything you want and MORE! From the action to the cinematography, Gareth Edwards knows how to craft a great dinosaur movie. This one captures the spirit of the originals and pulls you right back in." One thing is certain from the early reviews, they all seem to be down the middle in terms of showcasing critics that absolutely loved the entry, or those who simply did not care for it. "Jurassic World: Rebirth" being made was not a shock at all, considering the last three entries made well over $3 billion at the box office collectively. However, time will tell if the franchise will continue. More entertainment: Smash Hit Series 'The Pitt' Gets Major Season 2 Update For more movie news, head to Newsweek.

Chihuahua Melts Hearts As Owner Shows Where He Chooses To Sleep

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A tiny chihuahua catching some rest beneath their newborn human sibling has captured hearts across the internet. Rebecca Finch (@hazelshouse_), from Birmingham, England, shared a video on TikTok of her baby, Theodore, peacefully asleep in his crib—with one of the family's chihuahuas, Bambi, snuggled up directly underneath. The heartwarming clip, which has received 243,800 views and 11,100 likes, shows the duo in a bunk bed-style setup, with the camera panning from Theodore down to Bambi nestled below. "Since we bought baby Theodore home the cat and the chihuahua have just adored him. He had to spend some time on the neonatal unit at Birmingham Women's Hospital and he came out just in time for Christmas. The first photo is the night he came home! The pets are very much part of the family and they love my older daughter Hazel too," Finch told Newsweek. Alongside Bambi, the family also has another chihuahua named Tinks—who also enjoys snoozing under the crib—and a cat called Minnie. The Dogs Trust, a UK-based animal welfare charity, offers guidance for families introducing a new baby into a household with dogs. According to their advice, early planning and gradual introductions are key: "Allow your dog to explore baby items in advance and ensure they continue to get positive attention, so they associate the baby with good experiences." Ensuring a calm environment and creating safe spaces for both baby and pets can help foster harmonious relationships. "Our Jack Russell always sleeps under the crib," said one user. "That's too cute. Chihuahuas are the best dogs," added another viewer. "My Frenchie does this," said Jessica. "That is 100% The reason for the basket and when the baby out grows the crib the dog gets to sleep in that part( my dog slept in one but he was 15kg, so it only lasted a few years and we upgraded to a giant footstool for him)," commented Katherine. "Isn't this what they were designed for. Super cute," another user chimed in. "Aww two beautiful adorable sleeping babies together," said another viewer.
