Thunderbolts* Easter Eggs With the Red Hulk & Marvel References
Marvel's Thunderbolts* has now been released worldwide, and it contains multiple Easter eggs and references to the wider MCU, such as Red Hulk. Accordingly, fans are wondering what references and mentions they may have missed while watching the movie. Directed by Jake Schreier, this film sees various antiheroes team up to face an unimaginable and terrifying threat.
Here are all the Easter eggs and Marvel references in Thunderbolts* you might have missed. Be wary of potential spoilers ahead.
The following easter eggs and Marvel references in Thunderbolts* include:
Red Hulk – In one of Thunderbolts*' earlier scenes, Val (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) mentions Thaddeus Ross' Red Hulk (Harrison Ford) and his actions in Captain America: Brave New World. This happens while she is questioned by an impeachment committee about her involvement in O.X.E Group's Sentry project.
Mel's necklace – Mel (Geraldine Viswanathan) was one of the film's most mysterious characters prior to release. She thus became a topic of multiple discussions, including one speculating whether she was the MCU's Melissa Gold/Songbird. Mel does not become Songbird in the film. However, she wears a necklace containing a songbird, subtly nodding to the comic book character.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier callback: In the film, Yelena Belova, John Walker, and Ghost try to escape the room Val trapped them in to kill them. During the process, Walker smashes a switch using his shield and says, 'On your left.' Ardent MCU fans will recognize this line from The Winter Soldier, where Steve Rogers says it to Sam Wilson during their first meeting while jogging.
The Watchtower: Thunderbolts* finally reveals Val as the Avengers Tower's mysterious buyer, and she has renamed it the Watchtower. This name is also a nod to Sentry's comic book base of operations, which shares the same name.
Thor: Tired of her constant orders, Sentry pins Val to the wall. He then recalls Val telling him how he was stronger than the entire Avengers team combined, including one god — an obvious Thor reference.
Fantastic Four – Thunderbolts*' post-credits scene sees Yelena and the team witness the arrival of the Fantastic Four's jet in space. Additionally, The Fantastic Four: First Steps' theme can be heard playing in the background.

Gwyneth Paltrow Gets Real About Disliking Being On Social Media As A Famous Person: 'I'm Like An Old Lady'
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. If nothing else, you can, seemingly always, say that actress Gwyneth Paltrow is honest. The proud vagina candle maven has been known to open up about everything from hiding in her parents house after winning her Oscar at 26, to living with ex Chris Martin after they split and how hard it is to be an empty-nester. Now the Marvel star is opening up about being 'an old lady' when it comes to social media. While it's not impossible to be famous today and stay off social media (or at least not put your whole life online), it's not something that's done on a regular basis. In fact, most people, whether they're celebrities or not, use social media regularly, but the pressure to show every aspect of one's life must certainly be greater the more well known a person is. During an episode of The Goop Podcast where Gwyneth Paltrow spoke with actress Kerry Washington, the welcoming lifestyle company founder spoke about her feelings on social media, and admitted that some of her reticence likely has to do with age. As she said: There's a part of it I think that just is like a pre-Internet kid. I always wrestle a little bit with, 'Why are we having to put everything on social media? We just met with our video team. I'm always like, 'Chase, I don't want to be on Instagram!' You know? OMG. Gwynnie! I don't want to be on Instagram, either! But I am, because it's just what people do now. Of course, no one is expecting me to share literally everything I do during the day, so I'm totally free to sit back, follow a bunch of other folks and enjoy the view. When fans see Paltrow on social media, well, they want her to share things. Several stars have spoken about the immense pressure that can come from being online and opening your life up to fans. It has, in fact, caused a number of them to at least take breaks from it. Recently, A Complete Unknown star and Oscar nominee Monica Barbaro admitted that she's deleted her social media several times, and had to do it while filming that movie and again as positive reactions came in. Other famous folk have talked about doing the same social media 'detox' for a while, with Only Murders in the Building lead Selena Gomez calling the process 'the most rewarding gift.' This is likely because, as Home Town host Erin Napier once noted, regardless of what you post, the comments can be 'really rude.' While that can certainly harm one's mental health, however, the potential positives tend to outweigh some of the negatives for Paltrow, and that's exactly why she continues to use it. As she added: And yet, especially around the topic of mental health, or anything really that's heavily stigmatized, social media is this way to destigmatize. ... [like] wait, this is how you change culture and the tools right now are social media. So even though I'm like an old lady trying to get with the times of how this works... [I try to] get comfortable with it. And, lucky for us, she has gotten 'comfortable' with it and continues to share with fans on a regular basis.

Miley Cyrus speaks out about dad Billy Ray's romance with Elizabeth Hurley
Miley Cyrus is sharing her thoughts on her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus ' new relationship and reflecting on how their own bond has evolved. In a new interview with The New York Times published Saturday, the Grammy winner spoke candidly about Billy Ray's romance with actress Elizabeth Hurley, as well as her mom Tish Cyrus' marriage to actor Dominic Purcell. "Now that my mom is so in love with my stepdad, who I completely adore, and now that my dad, I see him finding happiness, too -- I can love them both as individuals instead of as a parental pairing," Miley told the outlet. "I'm being an adult about it." She continued, "At first it's hard, because the little kid in you reacts before the adult in you can go, 'Yes, that's your dad, but that's just another person that deserves to be in his bliss and to be happy.' My child self has caught up." Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, who tied the knot in 1993, divorced in 2022 after nearly 30 years of marriage. They share three children -- Miley, Braison, and Noah -- and Billy Ray also adopted Tish's two older children, Brandi and Trace. Billy Ray went public with his relationship with Hurley on Easter Sunday. Their debut as a couple came just months after he finalized his divorce from his second wife, Firerose, in August 2024, according to People. In her New York Times interview, Miley also addressed longstanding speculation about her relationship with her father. When asked if they were estranged, she simply replied, "No." "I think timing is everything," she explained. "As I've gotten older, I'm respecting my parents as individuals instead of as parents -- because my mom really loved my dad for her whole life, and I think being married to someone in the music industry and not being a part of it is obviously really hard. And so I think I took on some of my mom's hurt as my own because it hurt her more than it hurt me as an adult, and so I owned a lot of her pain." Her comments followed a rare family photo that Billy Ray shared earlier this month, showing the family reunited to celebrate Braison's 31st birthday -- a moment that came after months of rumors about a rift between the father and daughter. Miley also directly addressed those rumors in a statement shared to her Instagram stories on May 10. "My dad and I have had our challenges over the years," she wrote at the time, per E! News. "Now, in my thirties, family is my priority above all else. I'm at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing. Grateful for the good health and love that flows through my family." Billy Ray echoed those sentiments in his own Mother's Day post on Instagram, praising his daughter and the progress they've made. "I'm so proud of Miley and her guts and her courage... her wisdom and strength to bring it when our family needed it most," he wrote. "We are so close to a full healing."
