Inter Milan Coach Cristian Chivu Hoping To Follow In Conte & Allegri's Footsteps With Serie A Title In First Season With Top Job

Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Antonio Conte and Max Allegri by winning the Serie A title in his first season in a top job. This is highlighted by Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInterNews. Cristian Chivu is still a very inexperienced coach. At least at the senior level. The Romanian has no shortage of experience as a player. And he also worked his way up the youth team ranks at Inter. However, Chivu has coached a grand total of just thirteen matches at senior level. All of these came at Parma last season. Therefore, Inter are taking a gamble that the 44-year-old will be able to seamlessly make the step up to one of the biggest jobs in Serie A. Chivu Hoping To Follow In Serie A Title-Winning Footsteps Of Conte & Allegri SEATTLE, WASHINGTON – JUNE 21: Cristian Chivu, Head Coach of FC Internazionale Milano, reacts during the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 group E match between FC Internazionale Milano and Urawa Red Diamonds at Lumen Field on June 21, 2025 in Seattle, Washington. (Photo by) There are a couple of examples of coaches who managed to defy their doubters by going all the way in Serie A in their first big jobs in the division, though. One is Antonio Conte. Like Chivu, Conte had won plenty as a player, but done relatively little to prove himself when Juventus took a chance on him in 2011. But that did not stop Conte from winning the Serie A title in his very first season as Bianconeri coach. Conte stepped down as Juventus coach in 2014 after three consecutive Serie A title wins, and Max Allegri replaced him. And Allegri would guide the Old Lady to five more titles. Prior to his time in Turin, though, Allegri had also enjoyed a lot of success with AC Milan. In fact, the Rossoneri won the title right away after Allegri had taken over. He repaid their faith in him after a series of smaller jobs in Serie A. Now, Conte and Allegri are in charge of Napoli and AC Milan respectively. Undoubtedly two of the teams that will be among Inter's biggest rivals for the title next season. And having such experienced, proven coaches could be major assets for both Napoli and Milan. But Inter will be hoping that Chivu can prevail against the veteran coaches, and remind them of something they'd once proved themselves – that experience is not a prerequisite for winning trophies.

Report – Sevilla To Pay Inter Milan €4M For 40% Playing Rights Of France U21 Star

Sevilla are set to pay Inter Milan €4 million for 40% of the playing rights of midfielder Lucien Agoume. This according to Spanish outlet ABC, via FCInterNews. They report that the Andalusian club are ready to acquire a total of 90% of the Frenchman's playing rights. Inter Milan sold midfielder Lucien Agoume to Sevilla last summer. The La Liga club paid a fee of just €4 million to take the midfielder off of Inter's hands. There was a catch, however. The Nerazzurri retained 50% of Agoume's playing rights as part of the deal. Therefore, Inter would receive a sell-on fee equal to half of any transfer fee that Sevilla are to receive for Agoume in the future. (Photo by) Sevilla, however, do have a further option in the deal for Agoume. They can buy a further 40% of the 23-year-old's playing rights from Inter, reducing the sell-on fee they owe to just 10%. This would be for another fee of €4 million. And according to Spanish outlet ABC, there is little doubt that Sevilla intend to activate that option. The Andalusians feel that Agoume's value has risen sufficiently on the basis of his performances last season that it would be a worthwhile investment. Therefore, Inter will receive another financial boost.

Report – Italy Coach Gattuso Closely Following Inter Milan Breakout Star For International Team

Italian national team coach Gennaro Gattuso is closely following the development of Inter Milan striker Francesco Pio Esposito. This according to the Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. Francesco Pio Esposito is set to be part of Inter's senior squad this coming season. After two seasons on loan with Spezia, the Nerazzurri gave the 20-year-old a chance to prove himself at the Club World Cup this summer. And it was an opportunity which Pio Esposito grabbed with both hands. Therefore, he will be part of Inter's plans for Serie A, the Champions League, and the Coppa Italia. (Photo by) And according to the Gazzetta dello Sport, one particularly interested party in Pio Esposito's development this season would be Italy coach Gennaro Gattuso. The legendary former AC Milan midfielder took over as Azzurri boss this summer from Luciano Spalletti. And one area of the pitch in which there is some doubt for Italy is the attack. It has been some time since the Azzurri have been able to call upon a truly top-class centre-forward. There have been some candidates to step up recently. Among them are Mateo Retegui and Moise Kean. However, if Pio Esposito is able to maintain his trajectory playing in Serie A, he could certainly also stake his claim for the national team. The 20-year-old Inter striker has a combination of physicality, holdup play, and finishing ability that is very rare indeed. Therefore, Gattuso will be watching with a keen eye to see whether Pio Esposito earns a spot as Italy's centre-forward for years to come with his performances over the coming season. The young striker has already earned some comparisons to past Italy greats like Luca Toni and Christian Vieri. And Gattuso might be the happiest person of all if Pio Esposito can make good on them.
