Taste of Summer: A Caprese Riff
A caprese salad does just that. Named after the Italian island of Capri, a caprese salad is composed of just a few key ingredients: ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and fragrant basil, drizzled with olive oil and lightly seasoned with salt and black pepper. Its simplicity highlights each component at its freshest, resulting in a no-cook dish that's summer on a plate.

Accused NYC crypto bro kidnappers bragged about holding another foreign tourist hostage during drug-fueled Kentucky party: report
Two crypto bros charged with kidnapping and torturing an Italian millionaire so they he would give him his cryptocurrency password were accused of kidnapping another European tourist at their Kentucky compound, before he was apparently set free, according to a report. William Duplessie, 33, and John Woeltz, 37, took a group of models and other high fliers from Palm Beach, Florida, to the tiny Kentucky hamlet of Smithland back in February, where they engaged in a drug and gun-fueled party weekend at their sprawling $1.5 million mansion, the Wall Street Journal reported. Guests — whom Duplessie and Woeltz were trying to ingratiate themselves to — told the newspaper that the pair bragged they had kidnapped a German man, stole his cryptocurrency and killed him. The guests said they didn't know what to believe about the tale. 4 John Woeltz, 37, and William Duplessie, 33, pleaded not guilty to kidnapping. Steven Hirsch But, according local 911 call recordings, just a week earlier a German-speaking woman reported that her son had been kidnapped by the pair and was being held prisoners for his crypto password, the Journal reported. The incident began when a Holiday Inn clerk in nearby Paducah called 911 after a German-speaking guest shared disturbing text messages from her son who she said was visiting the US from Switzerland. 'In English, it's saying, 'They don't want to let me go, bitcoin,'' the clerk told police after running the texts through a phone translator, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. ''Need help, they are armed to the brim,'' the messages concluded. Michael Mauer had gone to see a friend in Smithland named John, his mother told the hotel clerk, giving the address of a street where Woeltz owned a smaller house. Mauer and Woeltz had worked together on a crypto project called Grin Coin in 2020. Cops had reported a number of issues at the property since Duplessie and Woeltz had bought their home in Livingston County in January this year, according to 911 recordings. Not long after, Mauer called his mother to say he had been released, and was picked up by a police officer in Smithland. Attorneys to Duplessie and Woeltz didn't respond to requests for comment Sunday. Mauer couldn't be reached for comment. At the Kentucky party, Duplessie and Woeltz flew wealthy heirs, fashion models, and hangers-on from Florida to Smithland, around 135 miles southwest of Louisville, on a private jet stuffed with caviar and booze — reportedly luring their guests out with the possibility of a lucrative crypto investment opportunities. But once they had reached the pair's six-bedroom black marble floored mansion in Smithland the trip reportedly took a dark turn, as the paranoid hosts, who were high on cocaine, claimed to their guests that they had met working with US intelligence services on crypto-related missions, hunting terrorists. 4 The pair were initially arrested on May 23rd, but are now granted a $1M bail that cannot be paid in Bitcoin, according to SC Justice Gregory Carro. Kevin C Downs forThe New York Post 4 NYPD Crime Scene investigators searched the house thoroughly after Carretan escaped. James Keivom 4 Defense lawyers claim the pair were just hazing the alleged victim. Steven Hirsch Duplessie, who had harbored hopes of a career in politics, and even had the Kentucky state seal tattooed on his chest during February's bacchanal, is accused, along with Woeltz, of kidnapping 28-year-old Italian national Michael Valentino Teofrasto Carturan and torturing him at a fancy SoHo townhouse in May this year. The two men were granted $1 million bail last month. Both have pleaded not guilty to kidnapping charges and say the charges are the result of a misunderstanding. They claim that Carturan was never a hostage but was a willing participant in a debauched party.

Lamborghini's First Personalized Temerario Glows in Grey and Blue
Lamborghini's shift toward electrified supercars continues with the introduction of the Temerario, the Italian marque's all-new plug-in hybrid coupe. The model represents the brand's departure from the Huracán and its long-serving V10 engine, which has been replaced by a more potent and efficient twin-turbo V8 hybrid setup. With the Temerario, Lamborghini completes its transition to a fully electrified product line alongside the Revuelto and the Urus SE. The latest development comes in the form of the first Temerario Ad Personam – a fully customized one-off model created by Lamborghini's personalization division. Revealed in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, during a private gathering, the build draws inspiration from the Mediterranean backdrop and introduces a tailored visual expression of the new hybrid Lamborghini. Dubbed the Temerario Porto Cervo, this one-off example is defined by a finish called Grigio Serget – a grey base that reveals embedded blue flakes under direct light. Gloss black elements in Nero Noctis outline the lower body, front splitter, rear diffuser, and side scoops. A slim pinstripe in Blu Royal provides a color break across the body, also found on the rear wing. Blue brake calipers hide behind Velador gloss black wheels, and matte black quad tailpipes add contrast at the rear. Inside, the blue-grey theme continues. Grigio Octans leather and Corsa Tex upholstery form the base of the cabin, while Blu Nethuns stitching and leather inserts appear across seat panels and door trims. Embroidery includes Lamborghini logos and a Temerario script with Tricolore detail along the cabin's rear wall. A profile of the car is stitched into the doors, while matte carbon trim and a red-detailed carbon steering wheel reinforce the supercar's driver-oriented purpose. Two plaques mark this unit's uniqueness: one reads Ad Personam on the driver-side B-pillar, the other tagged "Porto Cervo 2025" – to be replaced by the owner's custom plate before delivery. The Temerario is powered by an all-new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine paired with three electric motors. The gasoline engine alone delivers 789 hp with a 10,000 rpm redline. With hybrid assistance, total output reaches 907 hp. Power is routed to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic. Lamborghini claims 0–100 km/h in 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 213 mph. The Temerario Porto Cervo is a one-off commission, though Lamborghini's Ad Personam program allows buyers to create similarly bespoke configurations. The standard model's MSRP hovers around $300,000. Production takes place alongside the Revuelto on Lamborghini's new hybrid-capable line in Sant'Agata Bolognese. Copyright 2025 The Arena Group, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

Brown hails McLaren's 200th win as close to perfect
Sign up now: Get ST's newsletters delivered to your inbox BUDAPEST - McLaren boss Zak Brown hailed the team's 200th Formula One win, with Lando Norris ahead of championship leader Oscar Piastri in a one-two finish in Hungary on Sunday, as close to perfect. The win was Norris's fifth of the season and McLaren's seventh one-two in 14 races as well as the team's fourth in a row. "You're never perfect in a race but I think that was as close to perfect as you can get," Brown told Sky Sports television. "The drivers were awesome, pit stops amazing, strategy was great to get Lando up there, Oscar drove brilliantly. I couldn't be prouder of this racing team." Norris and Piastri crossed the finish line 0.698 of a second apart, with the pair almost touching when the Australian tried to make a move on his British teammate on the penultimate lap and locked up. Team principal Andrea Stella said it had been 'firm' racing but also fair between rivals now separated by just nine points. "We had a bit of a lock-up with Oscar but at the same time Lando left some space because he knew that Oscar would have been at the limit of braking," said the Italian. "We keep being very proud of our Lando and Oscar for racing. I think this is a great way of honouring Formula One racing. These are the value of McLaren." Despite celebrating his ninth career win, Norris said he needed to improve because he was making life too hard for himself. He won from third on the grid, after dropping to fifth at the start and then making a one-stop strategy work with Piastri on two. "It's going to be a good and tough battle probably until the end. It takes a lot out of you trying to focus so much for every single session, race, everything. So, it's going be a long second half of the season, I'm sure," he said. "There are those things I need to improve on and want to improve on. I'm not giving myself the best opportunities. Even though the results have looked great, I'm not making my life very easy for myself at the minute. "So if I can work on those things, then I'll be in a better place." McLaren are only the second team to chalk up 200 grand prix wins since the world championship started in 1950. Ferrari, yet to win this season, are on 248. Mercedes, next after McLaren, have 130.
