#SHOWBIZ: Actress Uqasha Senrose defends brother-in-law's Datukship
Uqasha, whose real name is Nik Zaris Nik Sen, denied claims by netizens that the award was 'bought'.
"My sister Nelydia's husband received the title of Datuk, and that automatically makes her a Datin. Yes, her husband is indeed an entrepreneur.
"My brother-in-law is from Terengganu, and he is heavily involved in housing development projects. It is on the basis of this contribution that the title was bestowed," she said.
Last Saturday, Nelydia was inundated with congratulatory messages after Hafez was awarded the title of Datuk in conjunction with the 66th birthday of the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, at Istana Abdulaziz in Kuantan.
The joyous news was shared by Nelydia, or Nik Zaris Nelydia Nik Sen, 31, via her Instagram account.
Uqasha expressed her pride that Nelydia now holds the title of Datin.
