Exclusive - Father's Day 2025: Rahul Vaidya reflects on fatherhood and childhood memories; says 'Becoming a dad changed everything'
Singer Rahul Vaidya, known for his soulful voice and grounded personality, shared his heartfelt thoughts on Father's Day this year — but with a twist. Now that he has stepped into the role of a father himself, the meaning of the day has changed for him entirely.
In an exclusive chat, he reflects on his own childhood memories, the values he's imbibed from his father, and how fatherhood has reshaped his perspective.
Rahul believes that Father's Day was always meaningful, but the arrival of his little one has added new emotional depth. 'Father's Day was always special for me, but now that I am a father, it's become even more special to me, and I have kind of realised the importance of this day, even more than what it used to be for me,' he shares.
Recalling his early years, Rahul opens up about one particularly fond memory. 'A father somehow in our society is not celebrated as much as Mother's Day, but every time my father used to take me out for badminton when I was very small — and then he would get me a soft drink after the session — that memory is very, very special for me,' he smiles.
Rahul sees his father not just as a parent but as an example of how to live with humility.

'Most people around me say my dad is a very good human being. He's humble, straightforward, minds his own business, and remains happy in his own world. These are qualities I've really tried to learn and follow,' he shares.
Like many in Indian households, Rahul experienced the quiet, reserved kind of love fathers often express. 'Till date, my father has never told me 'Well done beta, I'm proud of you.' In our culture, sometimes there's a respectful distance between fathers and children.
But I know in my heart that he is very proud. In fact, I always say — the day I started earning at 17, he retired in his mind.'
Becoming a dad has brought a shift in how Rahul views life. 'Even though I am a father, because my toddler is still so young, I haven't gotten that big 'Happy Father's Day' moment yet. But I feel very cute about it. It's a beautiful thought. I feel more responsible, and I look forward to every year – not just Father's Day, but fatherhood itself. It's very, very exciting.'
Rahul Vaidya's take on fatherhood is deeply personal and honest — a tribute to his own father and a gentle glimpse into the father he's becoming.

Viral photo shows Trump napping at birthday parade: ‘Americans paid millions for this'
US President Donald Trump was apparently seen dozing off during a military parade as he celebrated his 79th birthday and the 250th anniversary of the US Army. The Commander-in-Chief was attending the ceremony to pay tribute to the military, but the event seemed too long for the President, who was seen grabbing a quick nap during the proceedings. A photo going viral on social media shows the 79-year-old sitting with his eyes shut, appearing to doze off next to his wife Melania Trump while the military procession continued. The photo sparked angry reactions on social media. "Trump seen falling asleep at his own birthday military parade. All the resources, tax money and logistics to put on this ridiculous display, and he still isn't happy?" said one user. Another user wrote, "Trump too busy sleeping at his failure of a birthday parade to care." "Falling asleep again, on his Birthday. No this is not at Pope inauguration. The military parade that he desperately wanted, and Americans paid millions for this... So disrespectful of the US Military. Disgrace," remarked a third user. However, Trump was not the only one who seemed to find the event too boring to pay attention to. US First Lady Melania Trump also appeared to nod off mid-parade, with a photo showing her eyes closed. Melania seemed to catch quick naps throughout the event. Apart from her, Secretary of State Marco Rubio was also caught stifling a yawn and leaning back in his chair as the parade marched on. Vice President JD Vance also drew criticism for bringing his children to the military parade. Vance attended with his wife, Usha, and their three children. Some viewers labelled the children 'uncontrollable' during the proceedings. (Also read: 'Happy Father's Day, Papa': Prince William snuggles with his kids in rare photos)

‘Happy Father's Day': King Charles shares rare childhood photo with Prince Philip, Camilla honors her late dad
King Charles marked Father's Day on Sunday, June 15, with a heartfelt social media post amid a rift with his son Prince Harry continues. A message was shared on the official Instagram account he shares with Queen Camilla, featuring a black-and-white throwback photo of a young Charles and Princess Anne being pushed on a swing by their late father, Prince Philip. The post also included a photo of Queen Camilla with her late father, Major Bruce Shand. The caption read, 'To all Dads everywhere, we wish you a happy Father's Day today.' The post came just a day after the third Trooping the Colour ceremony of King Charles' reign on Saturday, June 14. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not invited to the King's official birthday parade, where several royal family members gathered. The rift between father and son has remained since 2020, when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from royal duties and moved to California with their son, Prince Archie. Their daughter, Princess Lilibet, was born there in 2021. A major point of tension is Prince Harry's loss of taxpayer-funded security in the UK after stepping back from royal life. On May 2, a judge dismissed his legal appeal to reinstate the protection. His lawyers have called the case 'a fight for his life.' Speaking to the BBC in a revealing interview aired the same day, Prince Harry said he still hopes to repair his relationship with his family. 'I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point in continuing to fight anymore,' he said, adding that King Charles "won't speak to me."

Why Aamir Khan's Children Have Non-Hindu Names Despite Hindu Wives? Actor Explains
Last Updated: Aamir Khan says he had no say in naming his children Junaid, Ira, and Azad Khan, revealing that his wives picked the names from Hindu traditions and history. Bollywood icon Aamir Khan, known for his cinematic brilliance and thoughtful storytelling, recently opened up about a deeply personal topic—how his children got their names. In a candid conversation on Aap Ki Adalat with host Rajat Sharma, Aamir delved into the significance behind naming his three children: Junaid, Ira, and Azad. During the conversation, Sharma playfully pointed out that Aamir's first wife was Reena, his second wife was Kiran, and joked that his next could be 'Gauri," referencing Aamir's current partner, Gauri Spratt. The actor blushed and crossed his fingers with a smile, before addressing a long-standing curiosity: Why do all of Aamir's children have names that don't explicitly reflect the religious background of their mothers? Aamir clarified with characteristic honesty, 'The names of my children were chosen entirely by my wives. I had no say in the matter. You're a husband too—you know how it is. Husbands usually don't get to decide. It was Reena who picked the names Junaid and Ira." He went on to share that the name Ira has deep roots in Indian tradition. 'Ira is another name for Goddess Saraswati. Have you heard of Irawati? Ira is a shorter version of that. Reena actually found the name in Maneka Gandhi's Book of Hindu Names." As for Azad, Aamir revealed that it was his second wife, Kiran Rao, who chose the name as a tribute to the legendary freedom fighter Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, from whose lineage Aamir traces his ancestry. 'Maulana Azad made immense sacrifices for our country's freedom. He stood shoulder to shoulder with Nehru, Gandhi, and Sardar Patel. He's a huge inspiration to us, so Kiran suggested we name our son Azad." Aamir emphasized that Azad is a universal name that transcends religious identity. 'Azad isn't a Muslim name. Have you heard of Chandrashekhar Azad? It's a name rooted in the idea of freedom. It doesn't belong to any one religion, and that's why we loved it." For those unfamiliar with Aamir's personal life: he married Reena Dutta in 1986 and had two children with her—Junaid and Ira—before parting ways in 2002. In 2005, he tied the knot with filmmaker Kiran Rao, and the couple welcomed their son, Azad Rao Khan, in 2011. They announced their separation in 2021 but continue to co-parent their child. Aamir is currently in a relationship with Gauri Spratt, whom he publicly introduced during his 60th birthday celebration. First Published:
