Katy Perry revealed how she returned from space to ‘best reality' of quiet home life

Katy Perry returned from space this week to what she called 'the best reality' – preparing her daughter's school lunch.
The 40-year-old pop star became part of history as a member of Blue Origin's first all-female flight crew, and shared a photo on Instagram on Wednesday (16.04.25), showing a lunchbox she had packed for her fouryear-old daughter, Daisy.
Alongside pretzels, carrot sticks and pineapple chunks, the singer included a slice of bread shaped like a star in the package.
'Back to the best reality, packing school lunch,' she wrote on the image, adding a heart and flower emoji.
Katy was one of six women to board Blue Origin's NS-31 flight, which launched from West Texas on Monday, 14 April.
The brief mission lasted approximately 11 minutes and marked the company's first all-woman spaceflight.
Also on board were journalist Gayle King, 69, philanthropist Lauren Sánchez, 54, astronaut and bioastronautics researcher Amanda Nguyen, 33, NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, 38, and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn, 36. Although the mission was lauded as historic, it was met with a mix of celebration and online ridicule. Memes appeared on social media following the flight, mocking both the short duration of the trip and Katy's emotional return, during which she was photographed kissing the ground.
Fast food chain Wendy's posted a response to a news update stating: 'Katy Perry has returned from space,' adding: 'Can we send her back.'
Despite the criticism, Katy expressed pride in the journey. In an Instagram post shared on Tuesday, she described the spaceflight as an 'incredible journey' and revealed she had shared the experience with her girl Daisy, who wore an astronaut costume while watching her mother's return.
She also brought a symbolic memento into space – a small daisy, in tribute to her daughter – which she held up as she exited the capsule.
Speaking to reporters after the landing, Katy said: 'This experience is second to being a mom. That's why it was hard for me to go because that's all my love right there, and I have to surrender and trust that the universe is going to take care of me and protect me and also my family and daughter.'

It's hard to maintain sobriety while touring, says Miley Cyrus

Bang Showbiz | Los Angeles Miley Cyrus thinks it's 'really hard to maintain sobriety' while touring. The 32-year-old pop star hasn't paired an album with live shows since her Bangerz Tour back in 2014, and Miley has now revealed that she has no intention of hitting the road anytime soon. During an appearance on Good Morning America, Miley - who quit using marijuana in 2017 - explained: 'It's really hard to maintain sobriety when you're on the road, which is kind of a pillar of stability in my life. None of this that I create would even be possible without the way I think about things.' Miley also thinks there's an insufficient 'infrastructure' for touring artists. The pop star said: 'I do have the physical ability. I have the opportunities to tour, I wish I had the desire, but I don't. I also don't think that there's an infrastructure that supports artists.' Miley acknowledged that touring has negatively impacted her mental health in the past. The Wrecking Ball hitmaker said: 'I do think it's really hard to keep mental wellness.' In 2023, Miley admitted that touring 'isn't healthy' for her. The singer has enjoyed huge success in her music career - but Miley believes that touring 'erases [her] humanity' and stifles her ability to write new songs. The Flowers hitmaker explained in a TikTok video: 'Having every day the relationship between you and other humans being subject and observer isn't healthy for me because it erases my humanity and my connection. And without my humanity and my connection, I can't be a songwriter, which is my priority.' Miley also reflected on the differences between herself and her dad, music star Billy Ray Cyrus. The chart-topping singer admitted that she had financial and emotional stability during her younger years, whereas her dad was forced to struggle through the early years of his life. Miley explained: 'My dad grew up the opposite of me.

Ariel Winter recalls harrowing experiences with Hollywood ‘male predators'

Bang Showbiz | Los Angeles Ariel Winter received 'inappropriate messages from older men' when she was a child. The 27-year-old star found fame through her role as Alex Dunphy on the sitcom Modern Family and has revealed how she had to deal with the unwanted attention of 'male predators' from an early age. Speaking to Ariel said: 'I am familiar with male predators because I worked in Hollywood at a young age. I started at age four. I don't wanna say too much about it, but by the time I was on a laptop and cell phone, I was getting inappropriate messages from older men, and it caused trauma.' She added: 'The experiences I had in person and online as a child have affected me so deeply that I've had to go to therapy for it. The movie and TV industry is a dark place.' Ariel featured for the duration of Modern Family's 11-season run and admits that she found it difficult to come to terms with show ending in 2020. She said earlier this year: 'It was hard. 'We were like a real family. It was weird knowing it would just be over, and I wouldn't get to see everybody all the time anymore. It was like, wait, yeah, wait, we're not going to be together on Monday? So on the one hand, I didn't want it to end, but at the same time, I was ready to start something new as an adult.' Ariel was just 11 years of age when Modern Family began and she did not suspect that the programme would go on to become so popular. She said: 'I was 11 when it started. I don't think I had any idea of it was going to be successful or not. I was just like, 'Oh awesome, I got a job.
