Saudi Arabia elected to IAACA Executive Committee
VIENNA — Saudi Arabia, represented by the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (NAZAHA), participated in the 14th General Meeting of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA).During the meeting, Saudi Arabia, represented by NAZAHA Chairman Mazen Al-Kahmous, was elected as a member of the IAACA Executive Committee. This recognition reflects the international community's appreciation of Saudi Arabia's efforts and global leadership in combating corruption, particularly at the international level. Al-Kahmous highlighted the vital role played by the IAACA in fostering international cooperation, transparency, and integrity across various countries.He emphasized the importance of knowledge exchange between nations and institutions dedicated to fighting corruption, developing effective anti-corruption strategies, and building a strong international network to support transparency and accountability legislation. Reaffirming Saudi Arabia's commitment to combat corruption, Al-Kahmous stressed the Kingdom's determination to work alongside member states and stakeholders to contribute meaningfully to IAACA's objectives. The International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities is an independent, non-political organization with more than 180 members worldwide. It focuses on implementing the United Nations Convention against Corruption, supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and significantly reducing corruption and bribery in all forms by 2030.
The association also facilitates knowledge sharing among global anti-corruption authorities and professionals, organizing conferences, workshops, and training programs. It remains committed to strengthening partnerships with international and regional organizations to enhance global anti-corruption efforts.

The Syrian Defense Minister signed a memorandum of understanding with his Turkish Counterpart on military training and consultancy after talks in Ankara on Wednesday, according to Reuters. The source also warned that the recent clashes between the Kurdish parties and government forces threaten the country's unity, according to Reuters. 'It has not escaped our attention that the SDF terrorist organization's voice has become louder, empowered by the clashes in Syria's south,' the source told reporters at a briefing in Ankara. Turkey considers the US-backed SDF a terrorist organization and has repeatedly noted that it expects the group to abide by the deal to disarm and integrate into Syria's state institutions. 'The SDF terrorist organization's attacks in the outskirts of Manbij and Aleppo against the Syrian government in recent days damage Syria's political unity and territorial integrity,' the source added. Rights groups refer killing of Al Jazeera journalists in Gaza to ICC
LONDON: Two Palestinian rights organizations have filed a case with the International Criminal Court over the killing of six Al Jazeera journalists in an Israeli strike on Gaza City. In a joint statement on Tuesday, the Hind Rajab Foundation and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights called the attack 'a clear-cut criminal act — a war crime and part of a broader genocidal campaign — and it demanded a direct, targeted legal response.' The groups said the strike was part of 'a long war on the press' by Israel, which used 'recycled accusations' that the victims were 'terrorists in press vests.' The attack on Sunday destroyed the team's tent, killing leading correspondent Anas Al-Sharif, correspondent Mohammed Qreiqeh, cameraman Ibrahim Zaher and driver-cameraman Mohammed Noufal. Al Jazeera initially reported five of its staff had been killed but later revised the figure to four. Yemen appeals for urgent global aid as hunger crisis deepens
DUBAI: Following the UN warning that food insecurity in Yemen has reached 'disastrous' levels, the country's government told the Security Council it is on the brink of economic collapse and urgently needs international support to avert further humanitarian catastrophe.
