Good news for Kaizer Chiefs as PSL DRC delivers ruling on Velebayi

The PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber (PSL DRC) has delivered a ruling on the matter between Cape Town Spurs and Asanele Velebayi.
Spurs have been refusing to let Velebayi go simply because he was contracted to them before their relegation to the ABC Motsepe League.
Their relegation meant all the contracted players are free agents as the ABC Motsepe League is an amateur league.
However, Spurs had thought otherwise, and were against the idea of losing their top stars, including Velebayi, for free.

Now, according to SABC Sport , the PSL DRC has finally declared Velebayi a free agent, giving the green light to join Chiefs.
What's left is for Spurs to issue the speedy winger his clearance so that he can complete his four-year deal with Amakhosi.
The ruling on the matter involving Baartman and Bern has not yet been delivered, but expectations are that they will also be declared free agents.

Kaizer Chiefs sacrifice international flop so they can sign marquee striker

Kaizer Chiefs will allow Edson Castillo to leave Naturena so they can pursue a much-coveted international striker target. Etiosa Ighodaro remains on the hierarchy's wish list as he trains alone at Chloorkop. Castillo arrived in 2023 but has failed to hold down a regular place in the side. Springboks, Simbine, Dricus: When to watch Mzansi's finest this weekend Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi will sacrifice Edson Castillo to free up a foreign slot in the squad and give them more options in the market. 'It's been said head coach Nasreddine Nabi could be open to his [Castillo's] potential exit, allowing the club to be more flexible in the market as they look to lure new foreign recruits to bolster the squad for the upcoming season,' the report read on iDiskiTimes. Xmas comes early for Chiefs? Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi is a big fan of Etiosa Ighodaro. The Sundowns man is in limbo after returning to Chloorkop from a loan spell at AmaZulu. Springboks reveal surprise goal-kicking option

The Springboks have opted to back Manie Libbok to start at flyhalf against Australia this Saturday at Ellis Park, and he is expected to take on the primary goal-kicking duties. Although Libbok has endured criticism in the past due to some inconsistent goal-kicking, he has done a lot of work on this aspect of his game. Interestingly, Rassie Erasmus revealed this week that the new Rhino balls being used by the Springboks were also making a difference to Libbok. If Libbok is replaced, injured or finds himself struggling with his goal-kicking on Saturday, though, it seems that fullback Aphelele Fassi will serve as the back-up option. 'I've been practicing my kicking a lot, even before I joined the Springboks this season, and I'm confident with the way things are going,' said Fassi, who has scored seven tries in his 12 Tests to date, including a belter last year against the Wallabies in Perth. 'So, when coach Rassie told me that I'll also be a kicking option, it was a matter of putting my head down and continuing to put in the work.' Meanwhile, with speculation rife over the last day that the Wallabies may pick James O'Connor at flyhalf for the clash, Fassi said it would not make a difference who they selected. 'It won't change the way we want to play if they select him because we know what we want to do on the field,' said Fassi. 'He's a good player with a good skillset, and he's played against us before, so for us it is all about doing things the Springbok way.'
