Liam Neeson fans savage reporter for asking him about 'cringe' topic during 'nonsense' interview
He has been acting for more than 50 years and the current press tour he is on for The Naked Gun - featuring Pamela Anderson - is just one of many he has tackled throughout his career.
And while the actor, 73, may be familiar with the interview style of a press tour, it's clear that he is not familiar with Labubus.
What do the two have to do with each other?
Well, a Metro reporter recently decided to ask the acclaimed star about the furry trend in the middle of an interview about his upcoming film.
During a segment of INTERROBAIT, the reporter turned around his notepad and showed Liam a picture of a Labubu, asking him if he knew what it was.
'Haven't a clue,' he responded. 'No. Seriously, I don't know.'
'It's a fluffy doll? Or can you eat it?' he asked.
The Metro reported then went on to explain the fervor surrounding the toy and how people have even fought over them - eventually admitting that he himself owns a pink one.
'Doesn't surprise me,' Liam said. 'I've never heard of them. No!'
Liam was then shown a picture of a Lafufu and Liam guessed that it was 'an early drawing of E.T.'
When the reported explained that it was a Labubu without the hair, Liam awkwardly responded, 'And without the genitals.'
The reporter laughed it off but Liam's fans online were less entertained.
'Why do actors have to deal with this nonsense? Are there real reporters or interviewers anymore?' one user asked on X (formerly Twitter).
'Press tour interviews where they try to manufacture viral moments or the interview is a cringe try hard who clearly wants to be friends with the actors need to stop,' another added.
'Back in my day, they'd ask the actors questions about the movie on the press tour,' another shared.
Fans slammed the reporter for the question, blaming it on 'the influencer era' and reporters vying for a viral moment
Some fans blamed the rise of influencers and viral moments for the uncomfortable exchange.
'The influencer era and its consequences has been devastating for society. Sports. Movies. You can't escape their wrath and poison,' one fervently said.
But some users pushed back, saying that this interview style is not new or shocking.
'Celebrities have been asked about dumb s**t for as long as celebrities have existed,' a fan said.
'Agree, but I also think this is really funny,' another fan said in regard to the backlash.
'Harmlessly reacting to a trend, rather than actually derailing things.'
Most of Liam's interviews have revolved around his new romance with Pamela, and so at the very least the Labubu question is a change of pace.

April dragged into a shocking crime in Emmerdale as she faces grave danger
Dylan Pender's (Fred Kettle) Emmerdale return has seen him bring trouble with him trouble and lies to April Windor's (Amelia Flanagan) door and the upshot is she's put in grave danger. Dylan isn't inherently bad, he's just down on his luck, but has been dragged into working with drug dealer Ray Walters (Joe Absolom), and though while he's trying to extricate himself from his associations with the bad man, Ray has other ideas. Dylan thinks he's getting out, Ray is secretly pulling him back in. And he's got his eye on April too. As April's 16th approaches, it's a big deal but Marlon (Mark Charnock) feels displaced. Dylan is now the flavour of the month for April; she's outgrown her dad. But that's largely because her birthday wish centres around one thing – sleeping with Dylan. She gets her wish, during which Dylan misses a call from Ray. Mandy (Lisa Riley) catches them post-coital and informs on them to Marlon, going directly against the no snitching code of the Dingles – and Marlon is gutted. Rhona (Zoe Henry) helps him see that April needs to be able to make her own choices. It's cringes all round though when April learns that her dad knows she had sex. That will all turn out to be small fry problems when Ray demands that Dylan does another job for him. April finds out about it and realises Dylan has continued to lie. She also realises he is caught up in something very dark. More Trending She gives him permission to go ahead but is hit with a shocker when Dylan reveals it's her Ray wants to complete the job, not him. Billie Eilish's brother Finneas details extremely 'cringeworthy' interaction with Taylor Swift that still haunts him
Billie Eilish 's brother and music collaborator Finneas O'Connell has opened up about his 'most cringeworthy run-in with a celebrity' in an interview with The Guardian. The 28-year-old Grammy-winning musician divulged that he had an embarrassing moment with Taylor Swift at her 32nd birthday party. He confessed to the publication, 'I said "Thanks for coming" to Taylor Swift. At her birthday party. She said, 'Thank you so much for coming,' and I said, 'Thank you for coming!'' The moment took place in 2021, when the now-35-year-old pop star threw a bash alongside the band Haim's Alana Haim, whose birthday is two days after hers. Finneas previously opened up about the awkward ordeal in a 2022 Q&A with fans. At the time, he had been engaging with his Instagram followers when someone asked him to share 'your most embarrassing moment.' Via Stories, he explained that he had 'meant to say "thanks for inviting me" or whatever, obviously' to Taylor. Finneas sat down with The Guardian to promote his music with The Favors bandmate Ashe. Another tidbit the hitmaker revealed about himself in the interview is his knack for impersonations. Asked what he's 'secretly good at,' he said, 'Impressions. And I'm not doing one for you. The one I do the most is probably Benny Blanco.' Elsewhere in the conversation he revealed if he could be on any reality television show it would be, 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition with Ty Pennington. I loved Ty Pennington growing up.' And the star spilled the 'best piece of advice' he's ever been given. 'A guy who's a mastering engineer once said to me, 'Listen man, if something ever goes wrong, you just rock out.' Just rock out, man. I sometimes think, damn, I really am doing that. I had a show recently where shit was going wrong, and I was like: time to rock out, dude. What's my alternative here? Oh, my flight's delayed four hours? Let's rock out, dude,' he shared. In May, Finneas cast Kate Hudson in the music video for his song 2001. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Taylor Swift (@taylorswift) Taking to Instagram Stories afterward, he shared a note of gratitude for Kate, writing, 'And Kate!!! Dream of dreams!!! Best actor, best person, thank you one billion times for doing this video w us!' The video was inspired by Stanley Kubrick's 1968 sci-fi movie 2001: A Space Odyssey and conceptualized by his longtime girlfriend Claudia Sulewski. Finneas gave her a special acknowledgement, writing via Instagram Stories: 'Just a lil Claudia appreciation post - I asked her out of nowhere if she wanted to direct a video for 2001. 'I said, "You can do whatever you want, I don't even have to be in it."' The sweet anecdote continued, 'She was shooting a TV show at the time and trying to go to sleep early for a super early call time - I got into bed and she said "I think I have a good idea" and she had literally thought of the ENTIRE VIDEO.' Finneas has so far collected ten Grammys throughout his whirlwind career and collaborations with his sister Billie.

Liam Payne's ex-girlfriend Sophia Smith is married as she gushes 'dreams do come true'
Liam Payne's ex girlfriend has exchanged vows and gushed 'dreams do come true' almost a year after announcing she was engaged An ex-girlfriend of Liam Payne has gushed "dreams do come true" as she announced she has tied the knot. Sophia Smith took to Instagram to share her ecstasy at the sweet news as she exchanged vows with James Bridgwood. She uploaded a number of professional shots from her big day, showcasing her stunning white gown. In the first black-and-white snap, the pair linked arms as they smiled for the camera. Sophia looked very much the blushing bride as she happily clutched her man's arm, who was wearing a stylish black tuxedo. Another image showed the duo hugging into daughter Angelina who was born in April 2023. And a third showed the happy couple celebrating while a singer performs behind them. She tagged London's Hotel Cafe Royal in her post. Lou Teasdale was among her followers sharing messages of congratulations. She simply shared three red love hearts in the comments section. The special day comes almost a year after the happy couple announced their engagement. She broke the news weeks after Liam's tragic death in Argentina. . He fell from the third floor of a hotel in the country's capital, Buenos Aires. An autopsy ruled that Liam had died instantly after his fall which caused "multiple traumatic injuries" and subsequently led to "internal and external haemorrhage." Sophia had dated Liam between 2013 and October 2015, despite the pair meeting at St. Peter's Collegiate School in Wolverhampton. Following their split almost ten years ago, Liam told how he was "absolutely devastated". Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, he said: "In order to do right by somebody, sometimes it's better not to do what your heart wants, but to do what's better for them." It was reported that the former couple, were discussing plans to marry one another before they called time on their romance. While Sophia has now tied the knot with James, Liam's partner prior to his death continues to mourn her man. Last month Katie Cassidy was left devastated when a memory from just 12 months ago popped up on Snapchat. Alongside the clip, she wrote: "This popped up on my one year ago Snapchat. I miss you." The pair were in hysterics in the video, which was taken last July - months before Liam lost his life. Speaking earlier this year, she had also opened up about her grief and strong bond she had Liam. She said at the time: "It's still so special, I see it so often and it's going to be something that's going to be involved in my life forever. Every time I see the number four, I know he's there with me. "I never thought I'd ever be in a position being with Liam in general but he's guided me so much, he's taught me to have thick skin and that people are going to say different things, and people are going to have different opinions, and to not let anybody's opinion get to me as he never let it get to him." She was in tears as she added: "I find myself talking about him so much in the present tense and it's something where I don't even feel the need to correct myself because that's part of my healing journey. I'm still working on accepting the fact that he's not here anymore so it's hard for me to refer to him in the past tense. When I do refer to him in the past tense, it almost stings that little bit more, because it's more official. I never thought that I'd be talking about him in the past tense so it's definitely really hard to accept." She also continues to wear a necklace with angel wings on to remind her of Liam.
