Bethenny Frankel reveals sentimental reason for Florida move and how her daughter is adjusting to the relocation
She has relocated from the Big Apple to the Sunshine State this past year.
Now Bethenny Frankel has shed more light on what prompted her to permanently relocate to Florida.
Speaking with Us Weekly on Tuesday, Bethenny described how the prospect of becoming a full-time resident felt 'different in the right way' after she first purchased an apartment in Miami last year.
The Real Housewives of New York City alum, 54, told the publication that she ended up staying at her Florida residence more than she expected.
For that reason, she said she started seriously contemplating uprooting her and her 15-year-old daughter Bryn's lives in their hometown and moving down south.
'I went to high school in Florida and I've been going there my entire life, even since I was a younger, since I was a baby,' she recalled.
She said that when purchasing her Miami property last year, she 'thought I would be there a certain number of days' but ended up being there more often than she expected.
Reflecting on what happened before her move, she admitted: 'It started to make me feel like, "Wait, I really feel like I live there," even before this whole decision happened.'
She continued, 'So I was already like, "Wait, it feels different to live here than to visit. It feels different in the right way."'
The entrepreneur also told the outlet that her teenage daughter Bryn is adjusting well to their move. 'I have a sunshine baby,' she said. 'We are water people.'
Bethenny announced back in April that she and her daughter were moving to Florida for 'personal and professional reasons' — sparking fan concern that she was relocating due to politics.
Last month, Bethenny opened up about the reason she wanted to move out of New York City and admitted she felt like she was 'drowning' so she ultimately decided to move to Florida with her daughter.
That same month, she listed her $8 million mansion in Connecticut for sale.
In a TikTok video she posted on in early May, she said that a 'series of events transpired' earlier this year so she decided to sell their home.
'The morning of March 19th, this wasn't even a thought and by that evening, a series of events transpired and we decided it was the best move to move here,' said the star.
She explained that she quickly decided to list their home for sale, though she will be keeping her New York City apartment, and set out to buy a house in the Sunshine State.
'Within five weeks, [we] had sold and bought a home in both places. We'll keep this apartment, but I sold my home and bought a house in Florida,' she said.
Frankel said living with just her daughter Bryn, whom she shares with ex-husband Jason Hoppy, in an overly spacious house 'was drowning me.'
'It was just the two of us,' she said. 'It was a massive property, and I made the decision to buy that property when I was in a different stage of my life.
'I thought it would be this, like, big family home and that I'd be entertaining there a lot.'
She continued: 'The house was drowning me because it had an apple orchard, it was a historical house, it had all this property, and it was beautiful and amazing for a big family with kids and grandparents.
'It just ended up being a place that I spent a lot of time alone [in] because I didn't really know many people in that community. It was lonely.' She said she didn't want to be 'home alone' so she decided to 'simplify' their space.
'My simplification is someone else's complication because I'm still going to be in a beautiful home, but I just took on too much,' she explained. 'And the idea of something was different than the reality of it.'
Frankel also added that she originally planned to downsize in four years when her daughter would be heading off to college, but she decided to go ahead with it now because of a 'moment.'
'This situation was drowning me and something else was distracting her and neither of us would say it out loud because this is just what it was,' she said cryptically.
'The moment it became about her, I was able to be honest with myself about how I felt and it freed both of us. I think I'll be lighter and brighter and happier in the coming months.' Frankel added: 'I'm excited for this next chapter.'

The Hollywood mogul, his gay lovers — and his fashion icon wife
B arry Diller sits at one end of an elegant conference room in the headquarters of his media empire, fielding questions about his sex life. 'I've been doing this now for about two weeks,' he says. His voice, a deep baritone, is incredulous. 'From the first hour, the first day, it's, 'Is he gay? Now is he?' ' Diller is 83 and worth $4.6 billion (£3.4 billion), according to Forbes. He was a Hollywood wunderkind who became, at 32, the head of Paramount Pictures. He later ran Twentieth Century Fox and founded, with Rupert Murdoch, the Fox television network. Then he became a mogul in his own right, taking over television networks and engaging in rollicking battles with rivals for control of Hollywood studios. From this conference room, high in his white-glass HQ, you can see the hills and dells of an island on stilts that he built in the Hudson River as a new public park. It changed the shape of Manhattan.

Charlie Woods hints at tension with dad Tiger in Father's Day message amid Vanessa Trump romance
In a heartful message written for Father's Day, amateur golfer Charlie Woods hinted that there may be some tension with his dad, Tiger Woods. Charlie, 16, wrote a letter to Tiger - who Daily Mail exclusively revealed this year is in a relationship with Vanessa Trump, Donald's ex-daughter-in-law - in a video posted to the account of the American Junior Golf Association. The son of Tiger and his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, Charlie and his sister Sam live in Palm Beach, Florida with their dad and attend The Benjamin School - where Charlie is on the golf team. As images from Charlie's recent Junior Golf win at the Team TaylorMade Invitational played, he narrated the message he wrote to his father. 'Thank you, Dad, for believing in me in times when I didn't even believe in myself, and for all the times when you have supported me no matter what I do,' Charlie wrote. 'Even though we argue a lot, I still cherish every moment and I would just like to say thank you for everything you have done for me.' Charlie didn't say exactly why he and his famous father argue - whether it's typical teenage-related angst or if it could have something to do with golf. Regardless, it's a kind gesture from the up-and-coming teenage golfer who saw his AJGA ranking jump from No. 606 to No. 14 after his TaylorMade win. It's been an eventful year for the Woods family after Tiger went public with his relationship with Vanessa Trump. That announcement came 10 days after exclusively broke the news that the golf icon was dating Donald Trump Jr.'s ex-wife. Alongside two pictures of the loved-up couple, Woods wrote: 'Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together. 'At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.' The couple have the blessing of the President, with Trump himself saying he was happy when he learned that they had become an item. 'He told me about it, and I said, 'Tiger, that's good, that's good. I'm very, happy for both.' But they just let them both be happy. Let them both be happy. They're both great,' Trump said. 'I love Tiger and I love Vanessa. He and I have a very special, very good relationship with Tiger. I played golf with him a couple of times over the last month, and he's a fantastic guy and a fantastic athlete.' The relationship has the blessing of the president - Trump paid tribute to the pair of them Additionally, Tiger's mother, Kultida, passed away in February - a devastating blow as the matriarch of the Woods family died at the age of 80. 'At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.' Tiger himself has been absent from the course after suffering an injury to his Achilles as he prepared for the Masters back in April. However, he was recently seen without a brace on his knee riding a golf cart while watching Charlie.
