The tragic incident took place when a flight bound for London crashed within five minutes of take-off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport. The aircraft, carrying 242 passengers including 12 crew members, crashed in a residential area, resulting in massive casualties and nationwide grief.
Vishnu Manchu's official statement
Soon after the incident, Vishnu Manchu took to his X (formerly Twitter) account and wrote,
'My heart breaks for the lives lost in today's Ahmedabad Air India crash.
In deep mourning, we're deferring the #Kannappa trailer release by one day and cancelling tomorrow's Indore pre-release event. My prayers are with the families during this unimaginably difficult time.'
