
Al-Atta neighbourhood Project launched in Al-Khabourah
Al Khabourah: A ceremony was held on Wednesday in the Wilayat of Al Khabourah, North Al Batinah Governorate, to mark the inauguration of the first phase of Al-Atta Neighbourhood (Hai Al-Atta) project.
The first phase of the project cost OMR1.6 million. It includes 35 standards housing units, each covering an area of 272 square metres.
The project, aimed to provide housing for families whose residences were affected by past climatic conditions, boasts a range of modern solar energy units and water purification systems. It incarnates the concept of environment-friendly accommodations and sustainable community housing.
The inaugural ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Khalfan Said Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, and attended by Dr. Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, Mohammed Suleiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, officials and representatives of supporting establishments.
Al Kindi described the project as a model of cooperation between government departments, private sector establishments and civil society intitutions.
He added that Al-Atta Neighborhood embodies the spirit of solidarity and collaboration aimed to improve living conditions of families that were affected by past natural disasters.
The project, which earns support from Dar Al-Atta Association, is being implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, the Office of North Al Batinah Governorate and private establishments.

The launch ceremony also saw honouring the parties supporting the project in recognition for their contributions to construction of the project. The attendees made an inspection tour to the neighbourhood and hailed the quality of execution of the project and the integration of the services offered to the families.
