The Miami Hurricanes are pushing for a top recruiting finish in the class of 2026 and landed another key win in that aspect on Tuesday.

Head coach Mario Cristobal and Co. sit ninth nationally in the 2026 cycle with a group headlined by the nation's No. 1 player in five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell.
Previously holding 11 commitments, Miami added it's 12th pledge and the Hurricanes' sixth four-star recruit by landing four-star offensive lineman Canon Pickett.
Pickett (6-foot-5, 290 pounds) is an in-state recruit out of Tampa Bay (Florida) Tech, where he ranks as the No. 13 player at his position and the No. 37 player in the state, per Rivals.

The race came down to Miami, Florida and Clemson for Pickett, who visited the Tigers on May 30 before taking an official trip to the Hurricanes over the weekend.

Head coach Billy Napier and the in-state rival Gators are expected to get Pickett on campus for an official visit this weekend, but it was Miami that received his commitment before that trip.
"I'm home!!!!!!!" Pickett wrote on X.
Hurricanes faithful will always take a win over their in-state rival, whether its on the recruiting trail or on the field. Most notably, however, is Cristobal and position coach Alex Mirabal landing another top offensive lineman.
Pickett joins Cantwell and four-star Joel Ervin in the class of 2026, a group that is shaping up to be one of the best in the country.
It remains to be seen if Pickett will take his previously scheduled visit to Florida this weekend. Additionally, he is slated to be back at Miami on June 20 to round out his summer schedule.

'I feel like every game's so big during this time,' center Anton Lundell said Wednesday. 'The stakes gets higher. Everybody wants to win. But we both know for both teams it's a big game, and we want to be good.' They were more than good in Game 3, routing the Oilers 6-1 to take control of a series that looked evenly matched after a bunch of overtime hockey and a split in Edmonton. 'Usually you get teams' best after that, I think especially with the players they have in the room, how competitive they are, they're going to look to bounce back,' said Brad Marchand, who is tied with teammate Sam Bennett for the most goals in the final with four apiece. 'When you have that kind of leadership, they normally lead the way, those top guys. That's a dangerous combination. We have to make sure that we bring our best.' The Panthers are nearing full strength at a time of year usually known for players gutting through injuries, with Paul Maurice saying Sam Reinhart is back healthy and Matthew Tkachuk looks like he is rounding into form. Tennessee offers 2027 safety from Virginia
Tennessee is making recruiting efforts toward its 2027 football signing class. The Vols offered a scholarship to three-star safety Zayvon Miller. "Extremely blessed to say I've received an offer from the University of Tennessee," Miller announced. Advertisement The 6-foot-3, 185-pound prospect is from Huguenot High School in Richmond, Virginia. 247Sports ranks Miller as the No. 38 safety in 2027 and the No. 11 player in Virginia. East Carolina was the first school to offer him a scholarship on Nov. 12, 2023. Additional schools to offer a scholarship to Miller include Penn State, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Appalachian State, Florida State, Liberty, Syracuse, Charlotte, Wisconsin, South Carolina and Old Dominion.
