Danny and Nicole Rodriguez were spending Easter with their two boys when they saw thick smoke inside their home, according to the GoFundMe.
'They rushed to get everyone outside to safety, including the family dog, Bruno, and all made it out unharmed. Unfortunately, all they could do is stand and watch as their home was engulfed in flames and burn everything they own,' Sonja Noel wrote in the GoFundMe post.
Firefighters responded and extinguished the fire, but the home sustained extensive damage, police said. No injuries were reported.

The fire remains under investigation. Authorities said it is not suspicious.
The family is now raising money to help with their recovery. The GoFundMe has raised more than $13,000 of its 15,000 goal as of Tuesday evening.
'Thank goodness they're all safe but they need help with housing, clothes, bedding, bottles, basically every single thing you can imagine. It's going to be a long process to get insurance started on repairs and to rebuild their life and every little bit helps,' Noel wrote.

Watch: Texas chicken named world's oldest at the age of 14

Aug. 12 (UPI) -- A Texas woman's pet chicken was officially named the oldest in the world by Guinness World Records at the age of 14 years and 69 days old. Little Elm resident Sonya Hull said she hatched the chicken, Pearl, in her personal incubator on March 13, 2011. Guinness World Records confirmed Pearl's age on May 22, officially earning her the title of world's oldest living chicken. "She's defied all odds because most Easter-Egger Hens live an average of five to eight years," Hull told Guinness World Records. She said Pearl's mobility is limited now, so she spends most of her time in the family's laundry room. "She is welcome to come out into the living room, because she likes to watch TV when she hears it on," Hull said. Pearl is also fond of the family's elderly cat and new kitten. "She doesn't seem to mind the other animals, and the kitten will sometimes sit with her," Hull said. Hull said Pearl's egg production has slowed, but she laid one right after the family found out she was an official Guinness World Record-holder. The previous oldest chicken living, an Illinois pet named Peanut, died Dec. 25, 2023, at the age of 21 years and 238 days old.

Cat seen clinging to Brooklyn expressway saved by good Samaritans

SUNSET PARK, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A cat seen clinging to the edge of an overpass of a major expressway in Brooklyn was rescued by a group of good Samaritans on Monday night. A sequence of videos uploaded on CitizenApp showed the small gray cat, wearing a colorful collar, perched on the edge of an overpass on the Gowanus Expressway near Exit 23 at 38th Street around 8p.m. 'If there's anybody out there that's animal rescue, please come, somebody come and rescue this cat. He's going to get killed,' a person behind the camera could be heard saying. In another clip, two people were seen standing on the shoulder of the overpass, trying to coax the little cat towards them. In its likely confusion, the lost animal jumped from the overpass to the ground below but was found by a resident shortly after. The person recorded themselves as they cautiously approached the cat hiding in a corner near 39th Street in Bay Ridge. The last CitizenApp clip in the saga shows the cat safely wrapped in a shirt, in the arms of one of the people who helped save it. The woman holding the grey kitty could be heard telling a firefighter she plans to take the cat to an animal rescue for help. Social media video from the nonprofit Sunset Park Cats shows that the cat is reportedly a 3-year-old girl named Juno who was taken to the emergency veterinary center, VERG Brooklyn. Animal volunteers say Juno has since been reunited with her owner. Dominique Jack is a digital content producer from Brooklyn with more than five years of experience covering news. 3-Year-Old Boy's Finger 'Completely Severed' in Freak Tricycle Accident

"If I can help other families and other babies prevent this from happening, put me on blast," said the boy's grandmotherNEED TO KNOW Mandi Truman said her 3-year-old grandson's hand was caught in the chain of a tricycle, leaving one of his fingers completely severed The accident marked the second time her grandson has been hospitalized in less than a month, Truman said She set up a GoFundMe to help raise funds for her familyA grandmother in Oklahoma is offering a cautionary warning to families after her 3-year-old grandson severed a finger in a tricycle accident. "In a lot of ways, I blame myself,' Mandi Truman, of Spencer, told ABC affiliate KOCO, 'but if I can help other families and other babies prevent this from happening, put me on blast.' In a GoFundMe that she organized to raise funds to support her family after the accident, Truman recalled that her grandson was trying to push the tricycle forward when his hand became caught in the chain underneath. 'Out of fear, he yanked his hand back, and in that moment, his fingers were severely injured,' Truman wrote in the fundraiser description. She added that one of the boy's fingers was fractured and needed stitches, while another finger was 'completely severed' and could not be saved. Fortunately, doctors were able to reattach an additional finger. Truman told KOCO that she was sitting on the back porch with her son when the freak accident occurred. She said her son moved the tricycle in a way that freed her grandson's hand and prevented further damage. "Had it not been for my son moving it just the right way and releasing him, he would have lost more," she told the news outlet. According to the grandmother, who described herself as a single mom raising two sons alone, the accident marked the second time that her grandson has been hospitalized in less than a month — adding that her heart is breaking because of the pain the boy has endured. 'I am doing everything that I can to stay strong for my children and grandson, but I am at my end. I cannot work right now due to caring for him full-time and my bills are piling up,' Truman wrote in the GoFundMe. PEOPLE contacted Truman on Thursday, Aug. 7, for additional comment. Read the original article on People
