What to know about Auburn 2026 target Cederian Morgan The state's No. 1 recruit has plenty of ties to Auburn. How will that affect his decision?
Five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan recently announced his commitment date of July 2, and Auburn remains a heavy contender.
Morgan will choose between Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Clemson, and Colorado this summer after taking official visits to each campus. The Alexander City native is high on Auburn's radar and has a 66% chance to sign with the Tigers according to 247Sports' crystal ball. However, On3 believes that Alabama will reel him in with an 89% forecast. He will close his official visit tour by visiting Auburn and Alabama, so it is expected that his decision will come down to the success of those two visits in June.
What do we need to know about Morgan before his commitment date? Here are five facts about Cederian Morgan and what a potential commitment would mean for Auburn.
He was a high school teammate of Auburn WR Malcolm Simmons
Morgan and Simmons were quite the duo at Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City during the 2023 football season. Simmons led the team in receiving as a senior in 2023 by hauling in 60 catches for 1,279 yards and 14 scores. Morgan was tied for second in receiving with 622 yards on 36 catches for four touchdowns as a sophomore.
Morgan will play for Jeremiah Cobb's high school head coach this season
Former Montgomery Catholic head coach Kirk Johnson takes over the Benjamin Russell program this season after a successful four-year stint at Montgomery Catholic, where he posted a 55-2 record with two state championships. Cobb rushed for 2,016 yards and 23 touchdowns as a senior under Johnson's watch during the 2022 season.
His 2024 output was one of Alabama's best
Morgan broke out in 2024 following the departure of Malcolm Simmons by catching 70 passes for 1,162 yards and 14 touchdowns. His receiving output ranked No. 15 in the state and No. 7 among 11th graders.
Morgan would be one of Auburn's highest-rated commits in program history
Morgan boasts a 247Sports composite rating of 0.9912. If he were to sign with Auburn, he would be the program's ninth-highest rated signee, trailing 2011 signee Christian Westerman and just ahead of 2013 signee Carl Lawson.
His commitment would continue to fuel Auburn's in-state recruiting dominance
Morgan is Alabama's No. 1 recruit for the 2026 cycle according to 247Sports. If Morgan were to sign with Auburn, he would be the second top-ranked in-state recruit to sign with Auburn in three years, joining Cam Coleman in 2024. Before Coleman's signature, the last time Auburn signed Alabama's top recruit was in 2007 when Mike McNeil signed with Auburn out of Davidson High School in Mobile.

Penn State adds Friday night commitment from 3-star cornerback

Penn State adds Friday night commitment from 3-star cornerback Penn State kicked off the weekend with another class of 2026 commitment. On Friday evening, the Nittany Lions landed a pledge from 3-star cornerback Amauri Polydor, who becomes the 19th member of the class. Polydor is listed at 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds and recorded 40 tackles and seven pass breakups last season as a junior. Polydor attends Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore, where he ranks as the No. 22 recruit in the state of Maryland per the 247Sports composite. He's also listed as the No. 88 cornerback and No. 1,049 overall recruit in the cycle. He received interest from several power conference programs, scheduling visits to Penn State and Maryland. Polydor is in Happy Valley this weekend, and it's unclear whether he still intends to visit the Terrapins next weekend. With his commitment, Penn State's 2026 class remained at the No. 5 spot nationally and No. 3 in the Big Ten behind No. 1 USC and No. 4 Ohio State.
