1,140 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will be opened by March 2026: Delhi CM Rekha Gupta
Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday said 1,140 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAM) will be opened by March 2026 in the national Capital.
Speaking at the launch of 33 AAMs and 17 Jan Aushadhi Kendra across the city, Gupta said they have a deadline of March 2026 to finish the task of building these community health centres.
'The central government gave a grant of ₹2,400 crore to the Delhi government in 2020 for opening Arogya Mandirs, but the then Delhi government did not let the city avail these facilities due to ego and misunderstanding. When we got the responsibility, we started setting up the Arogya Mandirs utilising the funds. A total of 1,140 Arogya Mandirs have been sanctioned in Delhi, and we have to finish the work by March otherwise the funds will lapse. The work which could have been easily done in the last five years for the benefits of the people will have to be done in the next eight months so that the funds allotted for the people do not lapse,' said Gupta.

Tuesday's inauguration of 33 AAMs was done across the national Capital with CM Gupta along with her six cabinet ministers, seven MPs and MLAs.
'Today 33 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and 17 Jan Aushadhi Kendras are being opened in Delhi at the same time. Our ministers, MPs, and MLAs are inaugurating the facilities at separate locations. In these centres, many health facilities have been provided for the people which were otherwise not available for them,' CM Gupta said while addressing a gathering at Tis Hazari in East Delhi district after inaugurating the health facilities.
In Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, in-house lab tests are available, along with 12 different kinds of health services while in the 17 Jan Aushdhi Kendra, medicines are available at affordable rates.
Cabinet minister Parvesh Verma inaugurated the facility at Babar Road while Kapil Mishra in Khajuri Khas while Ashish Sood inaugurated it in Janakpuri.
South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri inaugurated the facility in Tughlaqabad while North East Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari inaugurated the facility in Yamuna Vihar.

The chief minister said the government is working towards making Delhi the best in terms of health infrastructure. "We want to ensure that no one should lose their life because of lack of proper treatment," she added. According the the standards set by the World Health Organisation, there should be two beds per 1,000 people. "There are 0.42 beds in Delhi for 1,000 people. It means that there is not even one bed available for 1,000 people. We are working on a target of having three beds for 1,000 people," she added. Thirty-three Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and 17 Jan Aushadhi Kendras were inaugurated across the national capital by ministers here. New Delhi: In a major boost to Delhi's healthcare infrastructure, a total of 33 Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (Health and Wellness Centers) and 17 Jan Aushadhi Kendras were inaugurated in the capital on Tuesday. The multiple healthcare centres that will give a new identity to city's healthcare landscape were inauguated by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, ministers in Delhi government as well as BJP Parliamentarians. CM Rekha Gupta, speaking at the inauguration ceremony, said, "Today, under a special initiative envisioned by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, I had the opportunity to inaugurate an Arogya Mandir (Health and Wellness Center) here. Across Delhi, 33 Arogya Mandirs and 17 Jan Aushadhi Kendras are being inaugurated simultaneously today. I would like to proudly inform the residents that our ministers, MPs, and MLAs are inaugurating these centres at multiple locations." The Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, equipped with modern health equipments, will provide a wide array of services and seek to serve as one-stop centre for all types of medical assistance. Each centre will provide in-house testing facilities for 14 types of diagnostics, along with outsourced access to 79 additional tests. Moreover, national-level vaccination programs will now be available at these centres. Apart from medical testing and vaccination, the centres will offer yoga sessions every Monday and Friday, family planning services, and pre-and post-natal care.
