2 more MRSM students remanded over bullying incident
The remand order for the two 15-year-old boys was issued by Senior Assistant Registrar Yuhanis Mohd Roslan at the Kuala Terengganu magistrate's court.
The suspects, both Form Three students, will be held until Monday to facilitate investigations under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting.
It was reported yesterday that two students were arrested over the bullying incident.
Five other male students from the same school, aged between 15 and 17, had been remanded until Sunday.
Police received a report about the bullying incident involving a Form Two student at around 6.48pm on Wednesday.
Besut District Police Chief, Superintendent Azamuddin Ahmad @ Abu said preliminary investigations revealed that the 14-year-old victim claimed he was forced to remain in a semi-squatting position with a slipper placed on his head for approximately 40 minutes.

He said the group's modus operandi was to approach foreign tourists for a conversation before asking them to reveal the cash in their possession. "The suspects will then take the money and leave the scene. It is reported that victims only realise their money is gone after the suspects leave," he said. He said all the suspects have been remanded for four days until Aug 6 and the case is being investigated under sections 379 and 380 of the Penal Code and sections 6 and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. Alwi said they are committed to ensuring the safety of locals and tourists, and advised the public to be vigilant when dealing with unknown individuals, as well as to safeguard their valuables at all times. GEORGE TOWN: Police have crippled a foreign crime syndicate believed to be targeting tourists in popular hotspots around the city with the arrest of five Middle Eastern nationals, including two women, during an operation. Dubbed 'Op Tourist', the operation was launched following three separate police reports lodged between July 30 and Aug 1 involving cash thefts from international tourists in Pulau Tikus and Jalan Penang. Acting state police chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said the victims — tourists from Taiwan, the Netherlands and Syria, aged between 29 and 52 — had reported being approached by people posing as fellow tourists or friendly locals who engaged them in casual conversation. "During the exchange, the suspects allegedly coaxed the victims into revealing the cash in their possession before discreetly making off with the money. "A joint team conducted the operation at Gurney Plaza. "As a result of the operation yesterday, police arrested three men and two women, aged between 19 and 35, all of whom are Middle Eastern nationals," he said in a statement today.
