With Kaizer Chiefs promising to sign more top players in the coming months, it's surprising to see which players in the current squad have the highest value.
According to transfermarkt.co.za, the highest value players in the squad are defenders Reeve Frosler, Spiwe Msimango and midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu. Each player is valued at approximately R18.59 million.
For comparison, that trio wouldn't crack the top-15 most valuable players in the current Mamelodi Sundowns squad. The most valuable player in the Sundowns squad is Lucas Ribeiro at R51.54 million.
In fact, the total squad value of Chiefs is around R303 million. That's less than half of that of Sundowns' whose squad worth stands at a whopping R744 million.
Meanwhile, the pair of forwards Ashley du Preez and defender Thabiso Monyane are tied as the fourth most valuable players in the Chiefs squad with a price tag of R17.55 million.
The 21-year-old midfielder Mduduzi Shabalala is the youngest player in the top-10 most valuable players with a worth of R14.46 million.
Defenders Bradley Cross and Rishwin Dortley are worth the same at R13.42 million.
Centre-back Inacio Miguel and left winger Pule Mmodi complete the top-10 with values of R12.38 million each. Mmodi is also the oldest player in the Chiefs top-10 at 32.

Tinkler gives update on Chiefs-linked Makgalwa

'If a club wants Keletso and makes the right offer, the club will not stand in his way,' said the Sekhukhune head coach. Sekhukhune head coach Eric Tinkler says the club are prepared to let winger Keletso Makgalwa leave – but only at the right price. ALSO READ: Nabi promises better Chiefs season The 28 year-old had a superb 2024/25 campaign at Sekhukhune, and was nominated for both the Footballer of the Season, and Players' Player of the Season Awards. Tinkler – 'Keletso has a job to do' The former Sundowns player scored 6 goals and provided 11 assists in 32 appearances for Babina Noko last season. Kaizer Chiefs have been linked with a move for Makgalwa but according to Tinkler, the club have yet to receive an acceptable offer from any team. 'Keletso has a job to do at Sekhukhune,' said Tinkler on Tuesday at the launch of the new Betway Premiership season in Sandton. 'Whether there was an offer or not it doesn't meant the criteria that the club wants. He is a professional footballer and he needs to move on now. 'I explained to Keletso – he had the top assists in the league last season. Now if he wants people to be serious he must do it again. 'If a club wants Keletso and makes the right offer, the club will not stand in his way. But if it is not beneficial to the club, why should the club release the player? It doesn't make sense.' A fine start Makgalwa already has one assist for Sekhukhune in the new campaign, Bradley Grobler heading home his corner in the 3-2 MTN8 quarterfinal win against TS Galaxy last weekend. Kaizer Chiefs set to make bold technical team change

Kaizer Chiefs could soon unveil a significant addition to their technical team as part of Nasreddine Nabi's sweeping rebuild at Naturena. Highly respected youth coach Vela Khumalo has emerged as a strong candidate to join the senior setup, in a move that could signal a deeper commitment to homegrown expertise. A source revealed that management is actively discussing Khumalo's promotion from the youth structures to the senior technical bench. The former national youth team coach, known for his eye for talent and tactical sharpness, may become a vital part of Nabi's inner circle as Amakhosi look to reignite their glory days. 'It's something that's been talked about internally. Vela is highly respected at the club and within South African football. He's someone who knows the Chiefs culture well and has achieved a lot with national junior teams,' the source said. Khumalo has guided South African youth sides to numerous regional and continental titles, earning a reputation as one of the country's most effective talent developers. His deep understanding of the Chiefs DNA and success at nurturing young players perfectly aligns with Nabi's vision for a rejuvenated and competitive Amakhosi squad. The Tunisian tactician has already begun reshaping the club since his arrival, ending a decade-long wait for silverware with last season's Nedbank Cup triumph. Now, with an eye on long-term success. He looks set to bolster his technical team with individuals who understand the local landscape. And share his drive to return Chiefs to the pinnacle of South African football. Elevating Khumalo would showcase the club's faith in its internal structures and commitment to continuity. Especially with youth development being a cornerstone of the current rebuild. The move would also underline Chiefs' belief in the quality of South African coaches. At a time when pressure mounts for the club to deliver both on and off the field. Excitement is already building behind the scenes at Naturena as talk of Khumalo's promotion gains momentum. His track record of producing players who thrive at senior level. And adds to the belief that his presence could bring fresh energy and perspective to the first team. If Chiefs confirm the appointment, it would mark a bold and calculated decision to lean on proven local knowledge in pursuit of their return to the summit of South African football. Nabi promises better Chiefs season as Betway Prem launches

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi would not be moved yesterday on whether Amakhosi can challenge for the Betway Premiership... Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi would not be moved yesterday on whether Amakhosi can challenge for the Betway Premiership title. ALSO READ: Cardoso on Sundowns' transfer policy The 2025/26 season was launched in Sandton with the coaches of the 16 top flight clubs. And Nabi did vow that Chiefs would do better than last season, when they finished ninth in the table. Chiefs' Nabi – 'Game by game' 'I won't talk about the title, we will take it game by game,' said the Chiefs coach, whose side open their campaign at Stellenbosch on Sunday. 'For sure we will be better than last season. It is a tough league, but we know where we have come and where we want to go, and we are looking forward to it. If Chiefs had a poor Premiership season in the 2024/25 campaign, they did do a Premiership double over Stellies, as well as also beating them en route to lifting the Nedbank Cup. It was Steve Barker's side, however, who finished third in the table to qualify for the Caf Confederation Cup for a second successive campaign. 'Coach Nabi has (previously) indicated that last season was not bad because they beat Stellenbosch three times and won the Nedbank Cup!,' quipped Barker, whose team will host Chiefs at Cape Town Stadium. 'It is always tough (to play them). It is a great start to the season, we know the fans will come out in numbers to support.' New Orlando Pirates head coach Abdelsam Ouaddou will lead his side into their first Premiership game against Sekhukhune United on Saturday at Orlando Stadium. Pirates' winning start Ouaddou got off to a winning start to his Buccaneers career, as his side comfortably beat Polokwane City 2-0 in the MTN8 quarterfinals on Saturday. Oswin Appollis scored on debut in that game against his former side, and Ouaddou praised the role of Pirates scouts in the new signings they have made ahead of the new season. 'I think the scouts of the club did well,' he said. 'Pirates have an identity, a big history, they are a big club and know exactly what type of player they want. 'They need to quickly adapt to my ideas and game model, so let us see what the future tells us. But of course, we are ambitious for this season.' 'I don't care if it is just Pirates fans' Sekhukhune head coach Eric Tinkler hopes there will be a packed Orlando Stadium again on Saturday, as there was last weekend.
