Ed Sheeran reveals intense safety measures he's taken to protect family

Ed Sheeran has revealed that he has 24-hour security at his Suffolk house after an attempted break-in. The singer, 34, has a sprawling estate in West Sussex, which is made up of five houses which he purchased in 2012. This is just one part of his large property portfolio reportedly worth £57 million, but the Suffolk home is where he resides with his wife and two daughters in what he calls Sheeranville. In a recent interview, the Castle on the Hill singer revealed that there are intense security measures at the property, ensuring his family's safety. 'I do think that there is a different kind of normal that is our business. I have like 24-hour security on my house. I have security with my kids. 'I have security with me. I have security with my wife, just because there have been a couple of weird things over the years that have happened,' he said on The Louis Theroux Podcast. He clarified that this practice was completely normal in the music industry because of the 'dangerous people' out there and a recent break-in attempt. 'Just so you know, there are lots of dangerous people out there. We've had like you know, a break-in attempt. 'In my industry, that's normal. That's kind of like an underlying thing that no one really talks about, but that is kind of a part of being in the public eye.' Ed married his childhood friend Cherry Seaborn in 2018 after the pair began dating in 2015. The couple had children just a couple of years after tying the knot withLyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran, born in 2020, and Jupiter Seaborn Sheeran, born in 2022. While in conversation with Louis, Ed also spoke about his children's privacy as he explained why fans will rarely see images of his two daughters. 'I'm very, very private about my children's image … I can't take them to zoos or parks or anything really without someone trying to film them. 'There are times where the normal parts of life I kind of mourn for and wish I could push my kid on a swing in a public park and it not be weird, you know?' He added that his children had not 'signed up' to being famous: 'People go, well that's the trade-off. But my kids have not signed up to that.' This isn't the first time the Shape of You singer has spoken about the tough parts of fame, explaining previously that he locked himself at home when he found the public scrutiny too intense. More Trending In 2017, he told The Sun: 'I stayed inside for four months. I just ordered food in and watched movies. 'I couldn't just go out and get a pint of milk. I always wanted to maintain normality – being able to go to the pub or go and do a gig. 'I just stopped going out, instead I was ordering takeaways and putting on a lot of weight. I hadn't got any balance, so I just stayed inside.' Got a story? She needs to have a nice personality - like I think I have - so that we match together.' He added: 'Also, I have a little boy, so I'll be taking him into consideration with who I couple up with, too.' Fans caught the first glimpse of Shea this evening as he arrived alongside fitness influencer Remell Mullins. A source told The Sun: "The two new boys are already in the villa and immedietely started turning heads. "The OG lads thought they were safe but three bombshells in three days shows that producers aren't messing around." Their arrival follows the first axing of the series - after a genius twist introduced by Maya Jama on launch night. She announced the show's first ever American bombshell and immediately gave her the power to steal a boy. Las Vegas VIP waitress Toni swiped Ben - leaving Burnley lass Shakira single. Shakira then had 24 hours to make a new connection or be dumped from the island. And in a surprise move, she opted for Harry - meaning Sophie Lee was dumped. Love Island sees quickest Hideaway sleepover EVER after just 56 hours as islanders NOT coupled up spend night together

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LOVE Island's summer series is off to a bang as a couple headed to the raunchy Hideaway bedroom just 56 hours in. Blonde air hostess Helena Ford, 29, and semi-pro footballer Harry Cooksley, 30, spent the night together in the hidden suite on Monday, The Sun can reveal. 4 Air hostess Helena Ford headed to the raunchy Hideaway bedroom just 56 hours in to this series Credit: ITV 4 She was joined by semi-pro footballer Harry Cooksley Credit: ITV 4 This year's Love Island contestants, with Harry and Helena circled The luxury space is totally separate from the main villa and offers the Islanders complete privacy. Filming began for the series on Saturday lunchtime, meaning it was some two and half days before the pair headed for some alone time. A source said: 'This is the fastest sleepover in the Hideaway in Love Island's twelve series history - and what a gorgeous pair to do so. 'In the past, producers had to invite Islanders to use the breakout bedroom which meant the love nest was generally not used until couples became more established. 'But producers have changed the rules of the breakout bedroom so it can be used at any time, without an invite. 'It means Helena and Harry could take advantage of the 'no invite needed' and explore their connection. 'The scenes will play out later this week, but bosses are unlikely to show anything too naughty, as is the show's usual approach.' Helena, who is pals with Piers Morgan's son Spencer and Gary Lineker's son George on the outside, had fans in stitches on Monday night's launch when she described her type as a 'four out of ten that is funny.' Harry, who is a commodities trader, has been described as The Surrey Zidane by fans of his team, Farnham Town. He's scored with Helena after his original coupling, Sophie Lee, last night left the villa as part of a show twist. Watch awkward moment Love Island's Shakira desperately grafts to stay in the villa - and show rivals are furious Love Island bosses overhauled their approach to raunchy scenes after facing a backlash in 2016. Regulators rained down on ITV when cameras showed Emma Woodham and Terry Walsh romping in the shared bedroom above the covers. Speaking this year at the villa, executive producer Mike Spencer-Hayter told the Sun: 'I think if that happens, we have a really nice touch of how we do it, with humour.' When Joey Essex and Jessy Potts romped in the final week of last year's series, footage showed a champagne bucket rocking and their feet intertwined. Love Island's return on Monday drew an audience of 1.4m across all devices - up on the launch of All Stars earlier this year. 4 Love Island host Maya Jama Credit: Instagram It's ITV2 biggest overnight audience of the year and was the most-watched show for 16-34s across all channels. Across the launch and the show's watchalong special with Amy Hart and Indiyah Polack, Love Island 2025 brought in 1.7 million streams on ITVX. To date, Love Island has been streamed 2 billion times on ITVX. Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
