Ed Sheeran reveals intense safety measures he's taken to protect family

Metroa day ago

Ed Sheeran has revealed that he has 24-hour security at his Suffolk house after an attempted break-in.
The singer, 34, has a sprawling estate in West Sussex, which is made up of five houses which he purchased in 2012.
This is just one part of his large property portfolio reportedly worth £57 million, but the Suffolk home is where he resides with his wife and two daughters in what he calls Sheeranville.
In a recent interview, the Castle on the Hill singer revealed that there are intense security measures at the property, ensuring his family's safety.
'I do think that there is a different kind of normal that is our business. I have like 24-hour security on my house. I have security with my kids.
'I have security with me. I have security with my wife, just because there have been a couple of weird things over the years that have happened,' he said on The Louis Theroux Podcast.
He clarified that this practice was completely normal in the music industry because of the 'dangerous people' out there and a recent break-in attempt.
'Just so you know, there are lots of dangerous people out there. We've had like you know, a break-in attempt.
'In my industry, that's normal. That's kind of like an underlying thing that no one really talks about, but that is kind of a part of being in the public eye.'
Ed married his childhood friend Cherry Seaborn in 2018 after the pair began dating in 2015.
The couple had children just a couple of years after tying the knot withLyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran, born in 2020, and Jupiter Seaborn Sheeran, born in 2022.
While in conversation with Louis, Ed also spoke about his children's privacy as he explained why fans will rarely see images of his two daughters.
'I'm very, very private about my children's image … I can't take them to zoos or parks or anything really without someone trying to film them.
'There are times where the normal parts of life I kind of mourn for and wish I could push my kid on a swing in a public park and it not be weird, you know?'
He added that his children had not 'signed up' to being famous: 'People go, well that's the trade-off. But my kids have not signed up to that.'
This isn't the first time the Shape of You singer has spoken about the tough parts of fame, explaining previously that he locked himself at home when he found the public scrutiny too intense. More Trending
In 2017, he told The Sun: 'I stayed inside for four months. I just ordered food in and watched movies.
'I couldn't just go out and get a pint of milk. I always wanted to maintain normality – being able to go to the pub or go and do a gig.
'I just stopped going out, instead I was ordering takeaways and putting on a lot of weight. I hadn't got any balance, so I just stayed inside.'

Harry goes to Blu for his side of the story, and he says: 'We had two kisses, where's your head at? It seems to me your with Helena more and flirting?' This star has made a fortune thanks to his popularity on the hit Channel 4 show COUCH POTATO CASH Gogglebox star set to be a millionaire as he splashes out on TWO houses Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) GOGGLEBOX favourite Pete Sandiford's making the most of his amazing telly success, which has seen his bank balance boosted considerably. Reaping the rewards of his popularity, the Blackpool native has made sure that any money he's made from the show hasn't gone to waste. He's proved to be a shrewd businessman - especially when it comes to property. The Sun can reveal how the TV star has recently opened up his own investment firm Corgi Real Estate. He has also invested in a house in Fleetwood and an apartment in nearby Thornton-Cleveleys, each worth £80,000. Pete has also capitalises on any earnings he makes from his TV career by setting up Corgi Media Ltd. Nevertheless, the star's daytime job isn't just appearing on Gogglebox - which he's only contracted to do 15 hours a week - but as a roofer and builder. He's got a business alongside a pal called TJ Joinery & Construction (NW) Ltd. The firm is going along very nicely and in its first set of accounts filed a £88,475 profit. Pete can't quit his regular job as he gets just £1,500 for each episode of Gogglebox, which is split with Sophie, so it's only right when he once said 'I have got to pay my mortgage somehow.' Gogglebox's Pete Sandiford reveals he's become a dad for a second time Pete and Sophie first appeared on their sofa - and bright yellow chair - in 2017 for the 10th season of Gogglebox. They quickly became popular with fans of the show for their quick wit and hilarious interactions. Aside from his humour, Pete won fans with his emotional side that he is never afraid to show. The duo aren't the only Sandiford siblings - they have another brother and sister called Harry and Lucy who do not appear on the show. Despite his popularity on Gogglebox, Pete still finds fame peculiar. "I am just a builder from Blackpool, so it is a bit strange when celebrities know us, " he once said. "I was on a roof yesterday."

Hollyoaks star quits after nine years – and his final scenes have already aired

HOLLYOAKS star Rory Douglas-Speed has quit the soap after nine years. The actor - who plays Joel Dexter - first appeared in 2016 on the Channel 4 soap but has now decided to leave his role to explore other opportunities. 3 3 3 And in a shock to fans fans, The Sun can exclusively revealed the Rory's final scenes have already aired. A source said: 'It was a tough decision for him to make to leave, but it's right for the character and for Rory himself. 'He's loved the last nine years and all that has come with Hollyoaks, but he really wants to spread his wings. 'And the time is right. Bosses were very kind and the door has been left open for Joel to return one day so it's not goodbye by any means.' Fans will no doubt be confused by Joel's exit as it didn't seem like a final goodbye. Instead the character was questioned for the murder of his brother Tommy, who had in fact, been killed by serial killer Jez Blake. His final scenes saw him locked up in a prison cell, being warned by DI Banks that he would be spending a few days behind bars while they investigated Tommy's murder. The Sun understands that these are Rory's final scenes, and he will not feature for a while yet. However, Hollyoaks boss Hannah Cheers recently revealed that the 30th anniversary for the show in October is set to feature an epic battle between killer Jez and villain Clair Devine. This means that Jez's many crimes will most likely come to light, which could result in Joel being freed from prison. 'Well, yes, obviously we've got two kind of Hollyoaks titans here,' Hannah said. 'We've got kind of very iconic Hollyoaks faces. And it's not an accident that they are both in the show in the run up to the 30th anniversary.' Hollyoaks has been approached for comment.
