Nike rolls out WNBA star Caitlin Clark's version of Kobe Bryant's sneaker
The Kobe V Protro retails for $190 and incorporates slightly more splashy versions of blue, red, and gold, colors of her team, the Indiana Fever.
Nike described the sneakers' shades as "Midnight Navy, Bright Crimson, vibrant hits of University Gold, and polished off with a high-gloss finish that glistens under the spotlight."
Before his retirement in 2016 and death in a 2020 helicopter crash, Bryant was arguably basketball's most famous contemporary name.
And likewise, Clark has become the world's biggest name in women's basketball, if not the sport at large.
Clark finished up her amateur career at the University of Iowa last year as her sport's all-time leading scorer before winning the WNBA's Rookie of the Year award.
She was named Time Magazine's Athlete of the Year for 2024.
Also on Sunday, Clark and Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier were named captains for the WNBA's All-Star Game, which will be held on July 19 at Fever's home court, Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Report: Jared Dudley to join Nuggets as top assistant coach
July 3 - Jared Dudley is leaving the Dallas Mavericks' coaching staff to join the Denver Nuggets as an assistant coach under David Adelman, ESPN reported Thursday. Dudley, who turns 40 next week, retired from the NBA in 2021 and immediately took on a role as an assistant coach with the Mavericks under head coach Jason Kidd. Dudley is expected to move into the main assistant role under Adelman, who was named interim head coach of the Nuggets on April 8 when head coach Michael Malone was fired. Adelman was named the full-time head coach on May 22 after Denver advanced to the Western Conference semifinals. In 14 NBA seasons with seven teams, including seven seasons with the Phoenix Suns, Dudley averaged 7.3 points with 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 904 games (286 starts). He won an NBA title in 2020 with the Los Angeles Lakers. This move is among others on the Mavericks bench. ESPN reported Wednesday that Frank Vogel, who was the head coach of the Lakers in that 2019-20 championship season, is becoming Kidd's lead assistant. In addition, ESPN said Dallas player development coach God Shammgod is moving to the Orlando Magic as an assistant coach. --Field Level Media

Caitlin Clark heard aiming brutal dig at WNBA rivals on live stream after Indiana Fever cup win
WNBA star Caitlin Clark has finally fired back at her league rivals after aiming a brutal dig at them while celebrating Indiana Fever's Commissioner's Cup triumph. Despite Clark being ruled out of Tuesday night's final with a groin injury, Indiana still ran out 74-59 winners over the Minnesota Lynx to claim the trophy, with Natasha Howard putting up a game-high 16 points in the victory. And after getting their hands on silverware, Fever players headed back to the locker room for a wild party where Clark seemingly took aim at their rivals. In a clip from the live stream, which left resurfaced on X, Clark could be heard saying: 'Guys, I just know everybody in the league is sick'. One of her Fever teammates, Aaliyah Boston, laughed at the remark and responded: 'They're p***ed!'. Another player was heard saying: 'They hate us!' Since rising to prominence in the WNBA, Clark has also seemingly become a target among some of her league rivals. Clark was heard, on a live stream, claiming that 'everybody in the league is sick' of the Fever Some fans have claimed that the Fever star has been mistreated by her WNBA peers, who have continued to be rough her up in her second season. Women's basketball legend Cheryl Miller claimed in March that Clark was 'despised' by some in the WNBA community because of her race. 'I know what it's like to be hated. I know what it's like to be a black woman and hated because of my color. I can't imagine this young lady - I don't wanna use 'hate' but despised...,' Miller said on All the Smoke. Miller's comments came after Washington Mystics co-owner Sheila Johnson attributed Clark's race to her winning TIME Magazine's Athlete of the Year award. Meanwhile, Clark was left stunned after one of her Indiana Fever teammates performed a lewd sexual act on her during the celebratory live stream. The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year was leaning over to talk to the camera during an Instagram live recording when Fever guard Sydney Colson snuck up from behind and jokingly tried to dry hump her. 'Woah bro,' Clark said as she jumped up in shock before laughing, 'absolutely not, no thank you!' Elsewhere in the celebrations, new Indiana hero Sophie Cunningham was also seen twerking in front of the camera during the same Instagram live session.

WNBA fans rip into 'strange' Aliyah Boston question as Caitlin Clark steps in to 'save' teammate
WNBA fans reacted to a 'strange' question asked of Aliyah Boston after the Indiana Fever's Commissioner's Cup win - though teammate Caitlin Clark was credited for 'saving' her. By beating the Lynx in the final of the in-season tournament, the Fever took home a $500,000 prize. And during an interview with Prime Video after the game, Boston was asked what she would do with her cash winnings. Boston quickly answered 'that's for me to know' but couldn't get the rest of her response in, as Clark (who did not play in the game due to injury) playfully barged into her teammate and screamed on camera to celebrate the win. Nonetheless, some fans were not thrilled with Boston being asked the personal financial question. 'That's a strange question. As if she's never had money before,' one said on X. Caitlin Clark was HYPE — Clark Report (@CClarkReport) July 2, 2025 'Clark saved her Teammate from having to answer a personal question.... Every answer would have been wrong......,' another chimed in. And a third asked: 'why is that the question?' with crying-laughing emojis. Ultimately, Boston was in good spirits after she scored 12 points, hauled in 11 rebounds and provided six assists in her team's 74-59 win over Minnesota. Natasha Howard also had 16 points, with five players in double-figure scoring in total. Clark has been in and out of the lineup this season for the Fever as she's struggled with injuries. First, she was sidelined for five games with a quad injury, which she returned from last month. But she only lasted another five games on the court before being ruled out again with a groin issue, which has seen her out of her action since June 24. Clark's numbers have also dipped from last year's Rookie of the Year campaign, as her three-point percentage has gone from 34.4 percent to just 29.5 percent. Nonetheless, she was voted by fans as a captain for the All-Star Game, as she received the most votes alongside Napheesa Collier. However, Clark wasn't held in quite the same esteem by her WNBA peers, as she finished just ninth in the player vote among guards. Fans will hope she is healthy enough to compete in the All-Star Game on July 19.
