These 3 Heroes Debuted In 1991. Two Ruled Bollywood, But One Faded Away
The first among them to test his luck was Akshay Kumar. His debut film Saugandh released on 25 January 1991. Directed by Raj N Sippy, the action drama paired him opposite Shantipriya, who was also making her first appearance in Bollywood. But despite the anticipation, the film turned into a box office failure. (News18 Hindi)
Months later, on 9 August 1991, Vivek Mushran arrived with Saudagar. Directed by Subhash Ghai, the film featured Manisha Koirala in her debut role and brought two legends, Dilip Kumar and Raj Kumar, together on screen. Unlike Akshay Kumar's start, Vivek's launch was spectacular. (News18 Hindi)
Saudagar became the third highest-grossing film of that year, turning him into an overnight star. But while the film promised a bright future, the promise did not last. Subsequent films failed to replicate the success, and gradually Vivek shifted his focus to television, appearing in serials and supporting roles rather than leading the big screen. (News18 Hindi)
Then came the storm of Ajay Devgn's entry. On 22 November 1991, his debut film Phool Aur Kaante hit the screens, introducing audiences to a fresh action hero. The film was a runaway success, remembered most for its iconic stunt of Ajay balancing on two moving motorcycles, a sequence that instantly established him as an action star. (News18 Hindi)
The film's music too was a chartbuster, cementing his place among the promising newcomers. Over the years, Ajay has evolved into one of the most versatile and enduring stars in Bollywood, balancing intense action roles with meaningful dramas and even comedy, while also earning recognition as a producer and director.

Akshay Kumar And Arshad Warsi Get Notice, Accused Of Insulting Judiciary In Jolly LLB 3
Jolly LLB 3 features an impressive cast including Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Saurabh Shukla, Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao, and Gajraj Rao. A Pune court has issued notices to Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi regarding their upcoming movie, Jolly LLB 3. The notices were issued after a complaint was filed by lawyer Wajid Khan Bidkar, who claimed that the movie mocks the legal system and court proceedings. In his plea, Bidkar argued that Jolly LLB 3 portrays the legal profession in a derogatory manner and insults the judiciary. The petitioner also objected to a scene in the film in which judges are being referred as 'mamu" (a colloquial slang word). Issuing the notices, the court has asked Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi to appear before it on September 28. More details are awaited. Not First Complaint Against Jolly LLB 3 This is not the first time that a complaint has been filed against Jolly LLB 3. In May 2024 too, the film landed in legal trouble when the Ajmer District Bar Association President, Chandrabhan, filed a complaint against the makers of the film, alleging the franchise disrespects the Indian judiciary system. In his complaint, Chandrabhan claimed that the film presents lawyers and judges in an 'inappropriate" way which, he termed, was 'humorous and indecent". Chandrabhan had also urged the court to stop the Jolly LLB 3 shooting. 'This decision has been taken considering the first and second parts of Jolly LLB. It seems that the filmmakers, directors and actors do not respect the dignity and prestige of the judiciary of the country's Constitution at all. The shooting of Jolly LLB 3 is going on in the surrounding villages and areas including the DRM office of Ajmer, which will continue for several days. Even during the shooting of this film, the actors of the film do not seem to be at all serious about the image, prestige and dignity of the judiciary including the judges," Chandrabhan had said as quoted by NBT. What Do We Know About Jolly LLB? The first Jolly LLB film was released in 2013. Its sequel hit theatres in 2017. The first film featured Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla in the lead roles. In the sequel, Akshay Kumar replaced Arshad Warsi. He was also joined by Huma Qureshi. Produced by Star Studio18 and brought to life by writer-director Subhash Kapoor, Jolly LLB 3 features an impressive cast including Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Saurabh Shukla, Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao, and Gajraj Rao. From Chevrolet Bel Air To 1928 Chrysler: Bollywood's Affair With Vintage Cars
Bollywood has long shared a fascination with vintage cars, showcasing them not only as vehicles but as icons of style and character on screen. From the rugged Willys Jeep CJ3B in Aradhana to the elegant Buick Super Convertible in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Hindi cinema has featured a wide range of classics. These cars, often remembered as much as the stars themselves, continue to hold a timeless charm in Indian film history. (News18 Hindi) One of the earliest examples is the Chevrolet Bel Air, seen in Dev Anand's 1967 hit Jewel Thief. The film, also starring Tanuja, features the car in the memorable song Yeh Dil Na Hota Bechara, cementing its place as a cinematic style statement of the era. (News18 Hindi) Equally iconic is the 1928 Chrysler, which stole the spotlight in the cult classic Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi. The car, fondly called 'Champion' by Kunjalal Ganguly, was deeply personal to Kishore Kumar, who decided to feature it in the film alongside brothers Ashok Kumar and Anup Kumar. Interestingly, the film, made reportedly to save taxes, became a surprise blockbuster, with the car becoming a character in its own right. (News18 Hindi) Decades later, the Buick Super Convertible brought vintage glamour back to the big screen in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Designed by Harley Earl in the 1940s, the luxurious convertible perfectly matched the breezy, adventurous mood of the film, making it an unforgettable part of the storyline. (News18 Hindi) 5/6 The Ford Mustang Convertible added another layer of cool to Amitabh Bachchan's 1978 blockbuster Don. While Mustangs had already been popular in Hollywood, Don was the first Indian film to feature the classic American muscle car, further elevating the film's stylish appeal. (News18 Hindi) No discussion of Bollywood's vintage cars is complete without the Willys Jeep CJ3B from Rajesh Khanna's Aradhana. This rugged yet stylish jeep became iconic during the famous 'Mere Sapno Ki Rani' sequence, firmly establishing itself as one of Bollywood's most recognisable rides. For audiences, these cars remain more than props, they are part of the cinematic nostalgia that continues to captivate fans across generations. (News18 Hindi)
