Horse racing tips: ‘Great mark on her favourite quick ground' – Templegate's NAP to scoot home at Nottingham

TEMPLEGATE takes on Tuesday's racing looking for winners.

CASTRO AURUM (4.02 Nottingham, nap)
Made a winning return to action when stepping up to a mile at Bath. Darryll Holland's filly finished her race off well so this extra two furlongs should not be a bother. Her handicap mark of just 73 is more than workable and she can take advantage of that today on the quick ground she loves.
GINCIDENT (2.10 Lingfield, nb)
Is bang in form and is the pick of these on their form on turf. Trainer James Owen can do little wrong these days and his five-year-old was beaten less than a couple of lengths on his first try at this trip here ten days ago.
URBAN SPRAWL (3.40 Lingfield, treble)
Put in a fine shift in a tough handicap at York last week. He has winning form here on the all-weather track and this looks a good opportunity.

Celtic book medical for striker as Kyogo set for emotional homecoming

The Scottish champions are beginning to motor ahead with the transfer plans Teenage Fulham striker Callum Osmand could become one of Celtic 's first summer signings. Brendan Rodgers is in the market for attacking reinforcements after losing promising starlet Daniel Cummings to West Ham. ‌ The Hoops have also yet to sign a replacement for Japanese goal machine Kyogo, who departed the club for Rennes in January. ‌ Now, CeltsAreHere reports that the Scottish champions are on the verge of landing rising Welsh star Osmand from Craven Cottage. It's claimed that a medical has already been booked for the 19-year-old who has caught the eye of Parkhead scouts. Osmand - who netted 10 goals in 17 Premier League 2 appearances last season - is out-of-contract at Fulham, meaning the Double-winners will be able to land him for a modest cross-border compensation fee. Barring any medical hitches, the talented goalscorer is expected to join Celtic's senior squad for pre-season, giving Rodgers a chance to take a closer look. Meanwhile, former Celtic idol Kyogo is back on holiday in his homeland and is set for an emotional return to former club Vissel Kobe. Kyogo has endured a miserable spell in France since his shock £10million winter move to Rennes, failing to score in six appearances. ‌ He's found himself bombed out under new boss Habib Beye and has already been deemed surplus to requirements by the Ligue 1 club. That's led to inevitable rumours of a quick-fire return to Glasgow, but it's unlikely Rodgers will sanction a return for the fans' favourite. Bournemouth have also been linked with his services, but for now, Kyogo will make an appearance in familiar territory this weekend. It's been announced that the 30-year-old will be in the stands for Vissel Kobe vs Nagoya Grampus on Sunday and will greet the fans in a special half-time bow at the Noevir Stadium Kobe. Elsewhere, reports in Greece suggest that Greg Taylor's switch to PAOK is far from a done deal. ‌ Multiple stories on Monday suggested that Taylor had agreed a two-year deal with the option of an additional 12 months to join the Greek outfit. Taylor is currently a free agent after talks over a new deal at Celtic Park hit the skids. The Scotland international, 27, is holidaying in Dubai with his family and SDNA claims PAOK are no further forward in their pursuit of the left-back, with talks said to be "frozen".

Nottingham Forest announce retained list with fans in disbelief at players set to stay

NOTTINGHAM FOREST have announced their retained list - and fans are baffled that one player is still with the club. Nuno Santo's side enjoyed a stunning Premier League campaign in 2024/25. 3 The Portuguese boss masterminded a return to European football for the first time in three decades. Forest revealed their retained list on Monday ahead of a busy summer. Experienced centre-back Willy Boly has been offered a new contract at the City Ground. Former Wales international keeper Wayne Hennessey is also in talks with the club over extending his stay. But one forgotten name among the retained players jumped out to fans. Striker Emmanuel Dennis signed for the club in 2022 for £10million. He has made just 25 appearances across all competitions for Forest, scoring twice. Dennis spent last season out loan at Blackburn Rovers. The move followed temporary spells at Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir and former side Watford. Dennis' contract runs until June 2026 - but some fans claim it is already time to move him on. Taiwo Awoniyi seen for first time since horror injury as he receives hero's welcome at Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea One fan fumed: "Can we just rip up the Dennis contract please and pay him off." Another agreed on X: "Financially, it makes sense to give Dennis away for free if anyone will take him." A third added: "Probably 10 of the retained list also need to depart this summer in some shape or form." Forest also penned an emotional goodbye to Harry Toffolo, who signed for the club in 2022. Toffolo is the only player to depart the City Ground on a free transfer this summer. 3 The full-back arrived from Huddersfield after Forest beat the Terriers in the Championship playoff final three years ago. A statement read: "Since his arrival from Huddersfield Town in 2022, Toffolo has made an invaluable contribution not only on the pitch, but also off it. "Last year, the 29-year-old was named as an ambassador for Tricky to Talk – Nottingham Forest Community Trust's mental health programme – having attended several Tricky Hubs and Bottled Up Blokes sessions, speaking about his own history with mental health whilst actively listening to participants who share similar struggles. "As he embarks on a new chapter, everyone at the Club sends their sincere thanks to Harry for his outstanding contribution to Nottingham Forest and wishes him every success for the future."

Thomas Tuchel ‘impatient' for improvement with England

England boss Thomas Tuchel admitted he was 'very impatient' when it came to seeing his side take to his style of football and confirmed there would be changes for Tuesday's friendly against Senegal. Tuchel will take charge of his fourth England game at the City Ground in Nottingham, where he will look to keep up his 100 per cent winning record since taking over as head coach in January. England came under criticism on Saturday after they only managed to edge a narrow 1-0 World Cup qualifying victory over Andorra, courtesy of Harry Kane's 50th-minute goal. Certain sections of fans made their feelings known at the break and full-time with boos and Tuchel was thinking about giving the players more freedom in their midweek friendly. Asked when England would be playing the style of football he liked, Tuchel replied: 'I'm very impatient, which is not always a good thing. 'I'm always impatient because when you step out into the stadium and even if the fixture itself for the players is after a big season, after big finals, European finals, fighting for Champions League places in a big league, it might not be the most exciting fixture. 'But for me personally, once I step into a stadium, see the grass, smell the grass, see 7,000 English supporters there ready to go, I'm instantly expecting something from myself and from the players and it will be the same tomorrow. 'Of course, I'm impatient and want to do better. We are thinking about giving the players a little bit more freedom in the structure – let's see. 'Tomorrow we face a more physical and demanding team. On paper it might not look as offensive as we were against Andorra but will give the players more freedom to express themselves and hopefully we see that on Tuesday.' The Senegal game will give Tuchel another opportunity to look at his squad, some of whom have not played under his stewardship so far. Tuchel admitted Saturday's performance did not match the standards he has been trying to set and announced there would be changes. He added: 'We as a team didn't match our standards. 'I didn't like the last 10 minutes. We didn't play seriously enough to win it in the end and what we needed to do in a World Cup qualifier. 'Everything I say here I say to the players – why should I sugar coat? There is no harm done, we can have criticism and I believe a group of players in football can speak honestly to each other. I always include myself in that – now it's on us to do better. 'There will be some changes, I won't let you know how many but there will be. We want to reward players who kept their level up. We will see some fresh legs, new faces.' One player who has not featured yet under Tuchel is Bukayo Saka. The Arsenal winger missed the German's first camp in March through injury and was not included in the squad on Saturday because he had only completed one full training session during the week. Saka said: 'It's been a bit of a frustrating year through injuries and (I'm) looking forward to tomorrow. 'After the last game of the season, I had a little strain. I was only able to do one or two sessions in the week so the manager said he'll leave me out and have me involved tomorrow. 'If I speak about Thomas, he has been quite demanding, intense on the pitch, but off the pitch relaxed and lets us enjoy ourselves and created a nice environment for all the players to enjoy.'
