Couple outraged at 'view' from their hotel room - but can you see why?
Felicia Svensson, a finance assistant based in Gotherburg, Sweden, recently travelled with her partner to Baveno, where they checked into the Grand Hotel Dino.
The four-star hotel offers rooms with balconies and panoramic views across Lake Maggiore and the surrounding area.
However, the couple experienced a dramatic twist after pulling back the curtains on their balcony door.
In a hilarious video uploaded to Felicia's TikTok page, @feliciasvenssons, Felicia's partner is captured dramatically sweeping open the curtains to reveal a charming table and two chairs perfectly positioned in front of a breathtaking scene.
From sweeping hills and jagged peaks, to the vivid blue waters of a lake, the view looked so perfect, it was as if it had been painted...
Turns out, it was!
As the camera slowly zooms out, the illusion is shattered when viewers see that the view is nothing more than a massive printed poster, complete with scenic imagery, hung on a roller blind just beyond the balcony door.
The holidaymaker attached a tongue-in-cheek sound clip of the now-infamous Jet2 advert voiceover - a trend that has been sweeping TikTok, with users highlighting the contrast between the advertised 'perfect' trip and the reality.
The clip has since amassed over one million views, as hundreds of viewers shared their shock in the comments - though many collectively agreed they had initially been fooled by the 'realism' of the painting.
One person wrote, 'It looked real for a second,' while another joked, 'The view is definitely picturesque.'
Another, poking fun at the couple's view, commented: 'At least they use the high quality printing.'
A fourth wrote: 'So real I thought it was dangerous they didn't put a full fence over the balcony.'
Meanwhile, a former guest at the hotel fumed: 'Omg this is the same room I stayed in I think the hotel should be banned haha I hated it!!'

It comes after a holidaymaker was left outraged after forking out for a hotel room with a sea view only to realise she had fallen for a cheeky scam.

Influencer Clarisa Murgia had paid through the nose for the room because of the spectacular views it offered in the advert as part of a holiday of a lifetime across Europe.
But when she arrived at the hotel and was shown to her room, she quickly discovered her breathtaking balcony views showing blue seas, a sailing boat, and a mountain range were not what they seemed.
Instead, a giant poster of a seaside had been plastered to the wall of the building outside her window, and the entire sea view was one big con.
As she filmed the scene, Clarisa showed how from one angle the poster looked just like the real thing.

Pope Leo XIV gets rock star welcome from young Catholics at huge vigil
Hundreds of thousands of young faithful feted Pope Leo XIV like a rock star on Saturday at an open-air prayer vigil outside Rome, after the head of the Catholic church made a dramatic entrance by helicopter. Pilgrims began crying and cheering when the white military helicopter descended over the sprawling site in Rome's eastern outskirts. Organisers said more than 800,000 young pilgrims from 146 countries around the world had assembled as part of a Jubilee of Youth – and perhaps as many as 1 million. Smiling from his popemobile, the first US pope waved to throngs of screaming young people lining his route, many running for a better vantage point. They had already spent the day in the hot sun listening to music, praying and talking with fellow Catholics. 'The pope is here' announced an excited voice over the public address to thunderous applause from the crowd. But the tenor of the event became more solemn and contemplative as the pope took to the stage, carrying a large wood cross. 'Dear young people, after walking, praying and sharing these days of grace of the Jubilee dedicated to you, we now gather together in the light of the advancing evening to keep vigil together,' Leo, 69, told them. In the crowd was French pilgrim Julie Mortier, 18, whose voice was hoarse from singing and screaming for hours. 'We're too happy to be here. Seeing the pope, that's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,' she said. Event organisers said people had continued to arrive during the vigil and that it was possible that attendance numbers had reached 1 million. Most pilgrims said they would camp overnight for a Sunday morning mass at the site led by Leo. That will mark the culmination of the week-long youth pilgrimage, a key event in the Catholic church's Jubilee holy year. Some in the crowd were so far away they could not see the massive stage with a golden arch and towering cross that dominated the open area – which at more than 500,000 sq m was the size of about 70 football fields. 'I'm so happy to be here, even if I'm a bit far from the pope. I knew what to expect,' British student Andy Hewellyn said. 'The main thing is that we're all together,' he said ahead of the pope's appearance, as other young people nearby played guitars, sang or snoozed in the sun. Italian broadcaster Rai called the event a Catholic 'Woodstock', as throughout the day nearly two dozen musical and dance groups, many of them religious, entertained the crowds. In a video message, Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni welcomed pilgrims to the capital, who were 'praying, singing, joking among themselves, celebrating in an extraordinary party'. The Jubilee of Youth, which began on Monday, comes nearly three months after the start of Leo's papacy, and 25 years after the last such massive youth gathering in Rome under Poland's pope John Paul II. Early on Saturday, groups of young people set off from central Rome for the venue in Tor Vergata. They were ready to spend the next 24 hours surrounded by a crowd of people and sleep under the stars. Victoria Perez, who carried a Spanish flag, could not contain her excitement at seeing 'the pope up close'. 'It's the first time I'm going to see him, and I can't wait,' the 21-year-old said, looking forward to a 'night of prayers under the stars'. French pilgrim Quentin Remaury, 26, said he had been inspired by the late pope Francis's rousing message to youth during a 2016 visit to Krakow, Poland. 'Pope Francis told us to 'get off your couches', and that really gave me a boost,' he said. Throughout the week, attenders participated in church-planned events, such as confession at Circus Maximus, one of Rome's top tourist spots. On Friday, about 1,000 priests were on hand, with 200 white gazebos serving as makeshift confessionals lining the hippodrome where chariot races were once held in Ancient Rome. The pilgrimage unfolds as under-30s navigate economic uncertainty, the climate crisis and international conflict, with some pilgrims travelling from war-torn areas such as Syria and Ukraine. Samarei Semos, 29, who said she had travelled three days from her native Belize to get to Rome, said she hoped Leo would have a strong say about 'third world countries'. The Vatican said that before the vigil the pope had met and prayed with travellers accompanying an 18-year-old Egyptian pilgrim who died on Friday night. Rai News reported that the young woman had died of a heart attack on a bus while returning to her lodging from an event in Rome. Amid tight security, more than 4,300 volunteers and more than 1,000 police were watching over the vigil, organisers said.

Glowing with health and looking tanned and relaxed, she could be any young woman enjoying a summer holiday on the beautiful Italian Riviera. But these are the first pictures of billionaire heiress Allegra Versace in more than three years – and show how the shy heir to one of fashion's biggest fortunes has seemingly put her demons to rest. Allegra, 39, is the daughter of Donatella Versace, who announced earlier this year that she is stepping down as the luxury brand's chief creative officer after nearly 30 years in the role. The company has announced it is in the process of being taken over by rival Prada in a £1.08billion deal. For Allegra, photographed last week in the picturesque Italian fishing village of Portofino alongside a man who appeared to be her bodyguard, inheriting 50 per cent of Versace when her uncle Gianni was brutally gunned down in 1997 proved to be a poisoned chalice. The spotlight it shone on her – she is now worth a reported £1.1billion – caused a spiral into an eating disorder which, at its worst, saw her in hospital weighing less than five stone. Allegra was 11 years old when Gianni was brutally slain in Miami by serial killer Andrew Cunanan, a murder that stunned Versace family friends like Princess Diana, Madonna and Elton John and spawned a slew of books and shows including The Assassination Of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, which drew record viewing figures. Her mother would later recall the impact her brother's murder had on the child Gianni called 'my little princess'. Donatella said: 'Gianni was murdered in July and Allegra stopped eating in September.' By the time she was 20 and studying drama, art history and French at UCLA in Los Angeles, her mother and father, former model Paul Beck (who divorced Donatella when Allegra was 14), released a joint statement saying: 'Our daughter Allegra has been battling anorexia, a very serious disease, for many years. She is receiving the best medical care possible to help overcome the illness and is responding well.' Seeing the pictures of a happy and healthy Allegra last week brought back my own memories of a sensitive young woman who showed me extraordinary kindness at one of the lowest points in my life. In 2007 I was being treated for stage three colon cancer at UCLA Medical Centre and would roam the corridors, pushing my IV pole full of morphine and a cocktail of other drugs. I would often notice a painfully thin young woman also pushing an IV pole, hers holding a bag of what looked like liquid nutrients which went into a feeding tube. We would strike up conversations, mostly about the types of things patients discuss in hospital: What are you being treated for? How long have you been in here? Have you watched any decent TV shows recently? The soft-spoken girl introduced herself as 'Allegra' but the penny did not drop. It was only when a 'vision' appeared stomping down the corridor towards me – a woman with long blonde hair wearing tight leather trousers and vertiginous heels – that I thought: 'I must be hallucinating from the morphine because that looks like Donatella Versace.' The Versace name was iconic. Elizabeth Hurley's 'safety-pin dress' at the premiere of Four Weddings And A Funeral had put the design house on front pages worldwide and Gianni's murder made the name infamous. Allegra was portrayed in stories as a 'poor little rich girl heiress' and was rarely seen in public, preferring to remain behind the gold-leaf gates of the Milan mansion where she was raised – or surrounded by guards at one of the other Versace homes, including a sprawling villa on the edge of Lake Como. As Donatella walked past me I saw her go to a room at the end of a long hospital corridor. A massive armed bodyguard stood outside. And I realised who the young woman I'd befriended was. Later that day Allegra appeared in my room with a stack of glossy fashion magazines, including Italian Vogue. I told her I'd seen her mother earlier and she smiled and said: 'Ah, yes, isn't she something? She's a force of nature.' I was struck by how sweet Allegra was. I had just turned 40, twice her age, but she exuded kindness, stopping by regularly to see how I was doing, chatting to my mother, bringing gifts of flowers and even more magazines. Before long I was on my way home to begin the next stage in my cancer journey. Hugging her goodbye, I remember being shocked by how thin she was under her baggy sweatshirt. Over the years, I often wondered how she was getting on. In 2011, Allegra gave a rare interview to Italy's La Repubblica newspaper, saying she preferred to stay out of the limelight: 'I've spent time working with a non-Italian designer, helping him organise fashion shows, the advertising, also helping with the creative part. The great part about this work is that I am no one. I think you can get used to everything, if you feel free, if you are yourself and not what others want you to be.' Discussing her well-publicised battle with anorexia, Allegra said: 'I was lost in other thoughts and couldn't confront reality with my eyes shielded from everything. Above all, I wanted one thing – to be no one, to not be recognised, not be hunted down.' In 2016 she attended the Met Gala in New York alongside her mother and Lady Gaga, telling reporters: 'Unlike my mother, I hate celebrity.' She became a billionaire in 2018 when the Versace family (her mother and surviving uncle Santo owned the other 50 per cent) sold their shares to Capri Holdings, which also owns Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo. Donatella and Allegra remained on the board of the company. With the impending sale of Capri Holdings to Prada it is not known how closely the Versace family will be involved in day-to-day activities, but Donatella will remain a brand ambassador. Little is known about Allegra's private life. She has never been photographed with a romantic partner. But judging by the way she looks in these new pictures it seems she is now at a positive place in life and has found the peace she always craved.
