Boris Johnson's wife Carrie rushed to hospital just a month after giving birth

Daily Mirror16 hours ago

Carrie Johnson, wife to former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, has been rushed to hospital amid soaring temperatures this week. The mum-of-four has sent a warning to fellow parents from her hospital bed
Boris Johnson's wife has issued a warning to fellow mums after she spent two nights in hospital this week.
Carrie and Boris Johnson welcomed baby Poppy into the world on May 21, with baby Poppy being Boris' ninth child. He and Carrie married in July 2021, and already share sons Wilfred, five, and Frank, one, and daughter Romy, three.

Carrie Johnson has been treated in hospital for "severe dehydration, a little over a month since welcoming her fourth child. Carrie revealed on Friday how she had been rushed in for treatment and warned fellow mums to "eat and drink enough in this heat".

Takign to her Instagram stories she wrote: 'Being hospitalised for two nights for my severe dehydration was not on my postpartum bingo card. Breastfeeding mums make sure you eat and drink enough in this heat. Especially if your babe is clusterfeeding."
The 37-year-old added: 'This week has honestly been brutal. Mastitis (me), reflux (her), dehydration (me). What a pair we are! But thank you for all the kindest messages, especially all the brilliant advice on reflux. Really appreciate it and made me feel way less alone going thru it all.'
Mastitis is an inflammation of breast tissue, common in women who are breastfeeding.
The Tory former Prime Minister has always refused to talk about his family life but he is believed to have at least nine children, including four with his wife Carrie. He has been married three times, first to Allegra Mostyn Owen who he met at Oxford University. The couple were married for six years before they divorced and he tied the knot with lawyer Marina Wheeler in 1993.

Their marriage lasted 25 years but they separated in 2018 amid rumours of his affair with his now wife Carrie, who had worked as a Tory spinner. The couple moved into No10 together after Mr Johnson became PM in 2019.
There are 24 years between the former PM, now 60, and media consultant Carrie, who shares glimpses of their personal life through her stylish Instagram feed. On the surface the pair seem quite different. Carrie, 37, is a fashionable modern mum who loves posting about dreamy family holidays, thrifted Vinted finds, and lunches out with her wide circle of friends.
Boris, by contrast, is known for his more traditional tastes — his love of classics, Shakespeare, and iconic leaders such as Winston Churchill has earned him a reputation as a British eccentric.
On May 29, 2021, Carrie and Johnson tied the knot in a secret wedding at Westminster Cathedral, sticking to a low-key affair with just 30 guests amid the restrictions of the Coronavirus pandemic. Sharing a snap of herself in her thrifty £45 rented wedding gown, Carrie declared she was 'very, very happy'.
One year after their first wedding, in the summer of 2022, Johnson and Carrie said 'I do' once more in a boho chic style ceremony held at the Grade I-listed in the Cotswolds - owned by one of the top Conservative Party supporters, JCB chairman Lord Bamford. Guests enjoyed an al fresco feast, while Carrie wore a garland of white flowers.

Glastonbury thrown into chaos as huge rock band pull out with just hours to go as their replacement is revealed by bosses

A huge rock band has been forced to pull out of Glastonbury today in a major last minute schedule shakeup - and their replacement has been revealed. Festival-goers and fans watching from home have been left devastated as the iconic noughties group confirmed the news in a statement. The Deftones were due to perform their set on the Other Stage tonight from 8:30pm to thousands of ravers. However, due to illness the scheduled appearance won't be going ahead. Taking to social media, a spokesperson for the band told devastated fans: 'In an unfortunate development, an illness in the band is going to prevent us from playing Glastonbury tonight. 'We're devastated to be missing out on something we've been looking forward to for months, but sometimes circumstances out of our control interfere with things we want to do the most. 'We really hope to return to Glastonbury soon, and as it stands, we plan on seeing you tomorrow at Crystal Palace.' Glastonbury bosses have quickly altered the schedule to ensure continuity continues and the Deftones' slot has been replaced. British rapper Skepta, whose real name is Joseph Olaitan Adenuga Jr, will take to the stage instead, playing his biggest hits. Confirming the shakeup to the schedule, a spokesperson for Glastonbury said: 'Deftones have been forced to cancel tonight's 8.30pm Other Stage performance due to illness in the band. 'Skepta will kindly step-in, taking the stage at 9pm.' While Skepta excitedly told fans: 'Let's go!!! No crew, no production but am ready to shut Glastonbury down. Victory lap time. Pre-Big Smoke 2025!' The schedule changes will see jazz band Ezra Collective's set will now run from 7pm until 8:15pm. Meanwhile, the West Holts stage, which has a capacity for 30,000 people, was shut 47 minutes before Kneecap were due to perform to avoid severe overcrowding in the area. The rap trio took to the stage at 4pm on Saturday, just over a week after one of their members appeared in court on terror charges. To finish their set, the group led chants of 'Free, Free Palestine' and 'f*** Keir Starmer' as the crowd was filled with flags supporting Gaza. Mo Chara, wearing a keffiyeh, said 'Glastonbury, I'm a free man' as the Irish rap trio took to the West Holts Stage. The group thanked the Eavis family for their support and attacked the British justice system for his arrest. The group has defended their previous provocative performances as 'satirical' ahead of performing at Glastonbury, as the BBC said it would not be livestreaming their set. Instead, thousands tuned into a stream of the show on TikTok by a middle-aged woman called Helen.
