An Antiques Roadshow expert had an emotional reaction as he learned about a "very courageous" woman who spoke of her late son.
During the BBC show filmed at Tredegar House in Wales, Marc Allum encountered a guest presenting a unique Status Quo themed tapestry.
She shared: "Well my son was Status Quo mad, absolutely Status Quo mad. In the old days it was records they brought out.
"I remember those!" Allum replied in recognition as she added: "CD's came later. And as time went on, we had to go out and buy it for him because he was disabled, he was in a wheelchair. He had an accident at 18."
The lady explained further after being sensitively questioned by Allum: "A motorbike accident, paralysed from the chest down. No feeling from here down.
"So he really couldn't use his limbs," he noted, leading her to clarify: "No, he could move his arms but he couldn't move his fingers. No use of his fingers."

"That's a sad story," acknowledged Allum, pondering the tapestry's connection with her son.
She revealed to Allum: "He was told he wasn't capable of doing anything and he didn't for five years".
"After five years, he began doing a few things, tapestry was one of them.
"As we'd pass through my kitchen, there at my kitchen table would be his wheelchair, and he would say 'thread me a few needles'.
"And he used his teeth to push it through the tapestry and he would turn the whole frame over, it was on a swing, and pull it through with his teeth."
The expert remarked: "That is unbelievable. So your son executed this entire tapestry with his teeth.
"I mean, obviously I can see it lists all the albums, song titles and it's quite clearly dated. I think what would be fantastic would be if Status Quo got to know about this as well.
"I think they would be absolutely massively impressed by the devotion of a fan who went to this kind of trouble."
As the woman presented a photograph of her son, who had sadly passed away 20 years after his accident at the age of 39, the expert observed: "He looks to be a happy soul," to which she replied: "Oh he was so happy, he was a happy boy."
The expert pointed out that the tapestry remained unfinished, prompting the woman to emotionally confirm: "No, it was never finished. Lots of people have asked if they could finish it for me and I've said no, it's not finished because he died.

"And it was only after he died that I actually looked at the titles and he never repeated a title but he did towards the end and the title was So Ends Another Life."
The expert acknowledged, "And I can see that final line at the bottom," as the woman added, "Yes, so he knew."
He was visibly moved after confirming the name Colin Thomas Booth belonged to the guest's son.
"I have to say I'm so highly moved, it's all I can do to carry on, to be honest with you", Allum said.
"And the fact you've come here today to talk to me about this, I think is wonderful.
"It's a testament to his achievement, producing something like this which I think is absolutely incredible.
"This thing is priceless. I think it is an amazing thing.
"Also, you've been very courageous to come and talk about it, so thank you very much."

Wayne Rooney clocks in for first Match of the Day shift after Man United and England legend landed '£800,000' BBC deal to become regular on the show

Wayne Rooney was pictured arriving for his debut appearance on Match of the Day at BBC 's studios on Sunday. Rooney turned up at 10:30am to formally kick off his new role as a regular pundit for the broadcaster. The former Manchester United and England captain is believed to have signed a lucrative deal worth around £800,000 a year to join the iconic football highlights programme. Arriving at the dock10 studios in MediaCityUK, Salford, Rooney looked confident as he walked past photographers and into the Match of the Day production hub. Rooney's transition from management to broadcasting comes after spells at Plymouth Argyle, Derby County, DC United and Birmingham City. The 39-year-old has been out of a job since leaving Argyle by mutual consent on New Year's Eve after a challenging seven-month spell in charge. Rooney has made no secret of his enjoyment of punditry since stepping back from coaching, occasionally appearing on Amazon Prime Video for Champions League coverage last season. Speaking to talkSPORT in June, he appeared to hint that his immediate future would involve more media work than management. He told the radio station: 'Obviously just doing some TV work at the minute, so that's what I'm doing. I'm enjoying it. So, that's where I'll be.' Rooney's switch also comes as Match of the Day move into a new era following Gary Lineker's controversial departure. Lineker confirmed his departure from the BBC in May and 'apologised unreservedly' after being accused of anti-semitism by sharing a someone else's social media post. The England legend left the BBC without a pay-off from his £1.4million salary while he, Shearer and Micah Richards have continued to work together on the hugely popular 'The Rest is Football' podcast. Lineker presented Match of the Day since 1999, with his 26-year reign making him the longest presenter in the show's history.

New Match of the Day host Mark Chapman finds love again after wife's death

New Match of the Day host Mark Chapman finds love again after wife's death The BBC presenter is in the Match of the Day hotseat as the iconic highlights show enters a new era Chapman will host the first Match of the Day of the new season It's the start of a new Premier League season, and the beginning of a new era for Match of the Day, with long-time host Gary Lineker no longer in the presenter's chair. ‌ The former England striker hosted the iconic highlights show for 26 years, but announced last year that he would be stepping away from the role at the end of the 2024/25 season. He had been scheduled to continue presenting the BBC's live FA Cup broadcasts, and front coverage of next year's FIFA World Cup, but he has now left the broadcaster for good after sparking outrage. ‌ Lineker came under fire after sharing a social media post on Zionism which featured a rat, which has historically been used as an anti-semitic insult in reference to language used by Nazi Germany towards Jewish people. While he removed the post and issued a public apology, it was later confirmed that he would leave the BBC early, signing off from the corporation on the final day of last season. ‌ When his departure was first announced, it was confirmed that a three-presenter team of Gabby Logan, Mark Chapman and Kelly Cates would take up hosting duties, and it is Chapman that is set to kick off proceedings on the first day of the 2025/26 campaign. The 51-year-old has become one of the most recognisable and well-liked faces in sports broadcasting over the years, having also fronted coverage of rugby league, the NFL and the Olympics alongside a host of football tournaments. But while Chapman is at the top of his game, his professional achievements have come against the backdrop of a brutally difficult period in his personal life, with the presenter tragically losing his wife Sara to cancer five years ago. Article continues below The couple got married in 2001 and went on to have three children together, with Sara fighting the disease for many years before sadly passing away in June 2020 at the age of just 44. At the time, a source told The Sun: 'Sadly Sara passed away on June 3. Mark and the kids are absolutely devastated. "The family was there and it's just a really sad situation. They're an extremely private family and would appreciate people respecting that.' ‌ Mark Chapman's wife Sara (pictured) died aged 44 (Image: Twitter) While he and his family were understandably left heartbroken by the loss, however, Chapman has now found love again, with it revealed last year that he had started a relationship with estate agent Clere Collier. Ms Collier, who is believed to be seven years younger than the presenter, has paid tribute to him on social media, describing him as her "one love". ‌ On Chapman's birthday last year, the estate agent - who is based in Dubai but reportedly makes regular trips over to the UK - shared a photo of the BBC star, writing: "Happy birthday to this one. My one love. "So proud of all you do, the biggest heart, the kindest soul, the leader of our pack and not to mention devilishly handsome. I love you, happy 51." The Sun reports that Chapman's new partner previously worked at an agency in Hampstead in north London and was known as a "socialite", with her celebrity friends including actors, singers and radio DJ Chris Moyles. Article continues below The publication adds that she previously been married twice before and has two children from those relationships, while she previously dated Another Level boyband star Dane Bowers.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 'split' over roles but it's good news for both of them

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced a new deal with Netflix - but one royal expert believes the announcement was very telling about their future directions Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new Netflix deal underlines a major decision by the couple, according to a royal expert. ‌ The Sussexes have revealed they have signed a new "multi-year, first look deal for film and television projects". The pair's new deal means Netflix will have the first option on their new projects. ‌ Five years ago, Harry and Meghan secured a lucrative contract, thought to be worth more than 100 million dollars (£74 million), with Netflix after quitting as senior working royals in 2020 - but this new extension is seen as a downgrade on their previous exclusive rights deal and is believed to be worth a lot less. ‌ As the deal was announced, Meghan was quoted as saying how she and Harry were proud to be extending their partnership with the platform. And just hours later, the trailer for Meghan's upcoming second series of With Love, Meghan lifestyle show dropped. And former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond says it is telling that there is "scant mention of Harry" int he announcement. She told the Mirror: "It seems clear that this deal is very much Meghan's project. "It seems he may have played some part in the production of a documentary about a Ugandan orphanage, but it is Meghan who will be on screen presenting her lifestyle shows. "I think this underlines that the couple has decided that Meghan is really the TV personality, and Harry is more comfortable continuing his charity work. And I think that's the right balance for them." ‌ It comes after the couple's controversial docuseries, Harry & Meghan, in which they were highly critical of the Royal Family, has been among the streaming platform's most-watched documentary of all time with 23.4 million views. However, other projects, such as Harry's series on Polo, have failed to bring in anywhere near the same viewers. Meghan's latest project, her cookery and lifestyle show With Love, Meghan, released in March, failed to break into the top 300 most-watched shows on the streaming platform in the first six months of 2025 and was also panned by many critics. ‌ And Jennie added: "As I understand it, first look deals like this are not unusual in Hollywood. Arrangements like this usually come with a certain amount of financial investment in the company. And that's good news for Archewell. "The fact that Harry and Meghan have got any kind of new deal with Netflix really is one in the eye to everyone who said their contract was done and dusted. "Netflix has publicly hailed them as 'influential voices' -nd it's hard to argue with that. Whatever they do and say is widely reported on both sides of the Atlantic. "So I say well done to the two of them. They've shown that they still hold sway in Hollywood, and they've done what so many people said they couldn't: they've kept their link to Netflix alive and well and – to whatever extent – lucrative."
