Napheesa Collier out for a few weeks with sprained right ankle
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Napheesa Collier will be sidelined for a few weeks after spraining her right ankle against the Las Vegas Aces on Saturday, the team announced Monday. Collier will be reevaluated in the coming weeks. The MVP frontrunner appeared to step on teammate Alanna Smith's left foot and immediately went down near Las Vegas' bench with the Lynx holding a 92-49 lead late in the third quarter. She attempted to stand but sat back down on the court, writhing in pain, and was immediately surrounded by Aces starters A'ja Wilson, Chelsea Gray, Jackie Young, NaLyssa Smith and Kierstan Bell, who all held towels to shield her from exposure. Collier's teammates, coaches and trainers eventually made their way to the opposite end of the court to tend to the 2025 All-Star MVP. The Lynx (24-5) have three games this week, including a WNBA Finals rematch in New York on Sunday against the Liberty. Report: Toronto FC acquiring M Djordje Mihailovic from Rapids

The Rapids, in the thick of the playoff hunt, did not want to move Mihailovic at first, but the U.S. men's national team player requested they approve Toronto's bid, per the report. The $8 million fee would mark a club record for Colorado. There is a reported $1 million in add-ons and a sell-on percentage tied to the deal. Mihailovic, 26, is headed to his fourth MLS club. He joined the Rapids ahead of the 2024 season after time with the Chicago Fire (2017-20), CF Montreal (2021-22) and the Dutch club AZ Alkmaar (2023). Mihailovic has nine goals with seven assists through 24 matches (all starts) this season, on pace to break the career highs of 11 goals he set last year. In 187 career MLS matches, Mihailovic has recorded 40 goals and 21 assists. He has also made 11 appearances for the USMNT, scoring one goal. Toronto (5-13-6, 21 points) sits in a distant 12th place in the Eastern Conference, 14 points out of the ninth and final playoff spot.
