Shoppers 'look younger' in Vernon Kay's 'summery' M&S denim jacket
With summer finally here, many of us are enjoying days where we don't need to worry about wearing a jacket out during the daytime. But come nightfall, it's inevitable - with the typical British weather - that we'll need a lightweight jacket to keep our arms and shoulders cosy. Vernon Kay has teamed up with Marks & Spencer to showcase a few of its sunshine worthy jackets that'll keep the chill at bay without causing the wearer to overheat - and one jacket in particular has shopping loving it's 'good quality' that rivals some of the more expensive denim competitors.
The M&S Collection Denim Jacket costs £50 and comes in both a mid blue shade as well as an ecru. Available in sizes M to 3XL in blue and S to 3XL in ecru, the jacket offers a 'new take on a timeless design classic'.
Made with a relatively roomy fit, the garment is made from 'soft yet durable' material that ensures added comfort - especially with its smooth lining. Different to your typical denim jacket look - such as the Levi's Trucker, £120, or Wrangler's Classic Denim Jacket, £100 both of which have more of a loose, rounded fit with stitching and silverware decorating the pockets and buttons - M&S' chore style coat has more of a boxy design with two patch pockets on the chest and two larger pockets underneath near the hem.
While Vernon Kay sported a series of different jacket's in the video shared on M&S ' Instagram page (including the Faux Suede Harrington Jacket, £70), shoppers were keen to know where to get the first denim jacket from the website, with many people commenting on the post: "Looking smart Vernon", and "Looking summery and sharp".
With a 4.8 star rating on the Marks and Spencer website, the brand's Instagram followers aren't the only ones loving Vernon's look as the jacket has an impressive 4.8 star rating, with one shopper citing: "I chose this jacket because the design took denim jackets to a new level of flair. I was not disappointed and love the look and the feel of it - well made and decent material."
Although they did reflect: "A possible quibble is that straight pockets do not make putting my hands in them comfortable. Slanting pockets would be easier but would this significantly alter the design?"
"Looks fab great fabric fits like a glove great all rounder jacket," said another happy shopper, while a third added: "This jacket is outstanding. It's well-constructed, stylish, and offers excellent value for money. The sizing is spot on—I'm 5'8" and weigh 68kg, and the small size fits perfectly. It's versatile, too: great for wearing over a T-shirt during an English summer, and can easily be layered over a jumper or hoodie when the weather gets cooler."
Someone else said it was a "very good product, half the price of some of its competitors."
While most comments had no qualms with the jacket, a small number of people offered up some improvement suggestions. One said: "Good quality in general although collar slightly misaligned which is why it gets 4stars." Another four star shopper said: "Only one inner pocket that is oddly on the right side of the jacket. That's unusable to me especially as it is high up," although they did state how they've been told wearing the jacket makes him 'look younger in it'.
The exact jacket worn by Vernon Kay is available at M&S for £50.

Wynne Evans takes swipe at BBC just weeks after it cut ties with him
Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans parted ways with the BBC earlier this year and he's now taken a swipe at BBC Radio after having hosted a show on the station for years Former BBC Radio host Wynne Evans has taken a swipe at the radio station this week. It comes after he left his long-running show following a series of scandals whilst on Strictly Come Dancing last year and its subsequent live tour. It was announced back in May that Wynne, 53, would not be returning to his BBC Radio Wales show, which he had hosted since 2016. A spokesperson for the BBC said at the time that there were also "no plans" to work with him again. Wynne announced that he would instead host the Wynne Evans Show on other platforms. He then launched his new weekday radio show last month and later told fans that he had more than 40,000 listeners for the first episode. He has continued to promote the show in recent weeks and shared another message for fans on Instagram this evening. Wynne took aim at BBC Radio in a series of posts, in which he described the radio station as the "dark side". Alongside a cartoon of himself, the message for fans, who are referred to as 'Wynners,' read: "HELP!! We are looking for missing 'Wynners'!!! Did you previously listen to Wynne Evans on the dark side? (BBC Radio) are you missing his cheeky wit and charming charisma or do you just need cheering up in the morning? If so then tune into his new show available on iPhone, Android, Alexa and his website." Wynne shared the photo of his page. He wrote in the caption that accompanied it: "Let's find the missing Wynners - where are our friends that may be stuck on the dark side spread the word far and wide" He later shared a similar post on his Instagram Story. Wynne wrote in that caption: "Missing Wynners. Don't get stuck in the dark come and laugh and be in a place where the listeners are valued." The criticism comes after just weeks after it was reported that the BBC had cut its last remaining ties with him. It was confirmed last month that it has "no plans" for a second series of his travel show Wynne & Joanna: All at Sea. All at Sea, which launched on BBC One in January, saw Wynne sail along the southern coast of Wales with Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page, 48. The first series ended in February and a spokesperson for the BBC told the Mirror last month that there are "no plans" for a second series. A source told the Sun at the time that the decision to not renew the show "marks the end" of a relationship between Wynne and the BBC. They said: "It means that Wynne has no TV show or radio show with the Beeb, and effectively marks the end of their relationship." Wynne competed on Strictly last year and was partnered with professional dancer Katya Jones, 36, for the BBC show. The pair ended up apologising during the series for what he described as them "messing around," including over a scene of him with his hand on Katya's waist. It was later reported, whilst on the tour earlier this year, that he had apologised for using "inappropriate and unacceptable" language amid reports that he used the term 'spit roast' to Janette Manrara, 41, at a photocall. Wynne has since insisted that it was instead part of a nickname for their co-star Jamie Borthwick, 31, and "wasn't meant sexually". Wynne subsequently left the tour and his radio show after the scandal broke in January. As reported at the time, he said in a statement then: "I've agreed with the BBC that I'll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing. "I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. Apologies to those I won't get to see at the remaining performances and I'm grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me." Then in May he announced that he wouldn't be returning to his BBC Radio show following his departure months prior. He said in a statement: "From the very depths of my heart - thank you. These past few months, your love has been the light in my darkest days. Every message, every word of encouragement, every moment you stood by me has carried me through more than you could ever know." Wynne told fans: "It breaks my heart to say the BBC has decided not to renew my contract so I won't be returning to my radio show. I'm gutted. That show wasn't just work - it was home. It was us. We laughed, we cried, we sang like nobody was listening. And somehow, through the airwaves, we became a family. Thank you for welcoming me into your homes. Into your hearts." In a statement at the time, the BBC said: "[Wynne] is not under contract with the BBC." The spokesperson continued: "He is not returning to the mid-morning show on BBC Radio Wales and there are currently no plans to work with him."

Wimbledon diary: Roger Federer in the Royal Box and Sonay Kartal picks a tattoo
Djokovic, who is bidding to emulate Federer's record of eight men's singles titles in SW19, recovered from a dismal opening set to defeat Alex De Minaur 1-6 6-4 6-4 6-4. The Duchess of Edinburgh, Michael and Carole Middleton – parents of the Princess of Wales – and King Frederik X of Denmark joined Federer to take in the round-four action from the Royal Box. Cricketers Joe Root and Sir James Anderson and comedians Michael McIntyre and Sir Lenny Henry were other notable Centre Court guests. ***Nick Kyrgios will be commentating at Wimbledon after all. The controversial Australian, who worked for the BBC in 2024 but was not selected for this year's Championships, has been announced as a co-commentator for TNT Sport's coverage of the men's and women's finals. Former British number one Dan Evans will also offer insight and analysis as part of the team. TNT Sports insists it is not looking to compete with the BBC but offer subscribers an 'alternative viewing experience'. *** Sonay Kartal has settled on a tattoo design to commemorate her memorable run to the Wimbledon fourth round. A post shared by Sonay Kartal (@sonay__kartal) But the 23-year-old Briton, who was beaten by Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova on Sunday, gave no inkling as to what the skin art will feature. Kartal already has 14 tattoos and was repeatedly asked about plans to add to her collection. 'Tattoo design has been chosen… Who wants to do the ink?,' she posted on her Instagram story. *** Jack Draper is already turning his thoughts to the rest of the season after his second-round exit – and the British number one has a lucrative date in his diary. By elevating himself into the world's top six, Draper has earned an invite to the Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia in October. The inaugural edition last year saw Jannik Sinner emerge victorious, earning himself six million US dollars (approximately £4.4m) – the biggest prize in tennis history – while each of the six participants received 1.5m dollars (approximately £1.1m). Draper will be joined by Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz. 'I mean this is probably the first time he is watching me where I have won the match! The last couple of times I lost, so it's good to break the curse.' – Djokovic on playing in front of Federer. British interest in the singles draws rests solely on the shoulders of Cameron Norrie. The world number 61 faces back-to-back champion Carlos Alcaraz in a mouthwatering match up on Centre Court. Norrie is seeking to reach the semi-finals in SW19 for a second time after taking a set off seven-time champion Djokovic in a last-four loss in 2022. Alcaraz is the heavy favourite but did not look infallible during the opening week, dropping four sets across his four matches. Sunny with highs of 25C on Tuesday, according to the Met Office.

Fact check: Social media channel of migrant's journey posts AI-generated videos
The videos on the channel appear to be AI-generated. On four days between June 9 and June 13, the channel 'migrantvlog' uploaded 22 videos to the social media platform. At the time of writing, the most-watched video had around 374,000 views on the platform. In total, five of the videos had more than 100,000 views. The channel had 1,647 followers and more than 11,000 likes. Comments on the videos show some viewers realised that the videos are AI-generated. However, others seemed to be reacting as if they are real. What evidence is there that the videos are AI? There is clear evidence of AI generation in many of the videos. Most tellingly, several of the videos have watermarks for Veo – an AI video generation tool. One video posted with the caption '5 star meorot we going' includes a section at around seven seconds where a man on the right of the frame seems to momentarily lose his arm. This video is one of several with a Veo watermark. The watermark appears in the bottom-right corner, where it might be obscured from some viewers by TikTok's display icons. Between that video and another posted later the same day, the main protagonist's voice seems to change. The second video includes scrambled text on the front of a building, a hallmark sign of AI. At around five seconds, a man appears to pull a large camera out of his crotch, while at seven seconds a person sat in a chair appears to become translucent. Another video shows a protest with men waving flags. The man behind the right shoulder of the person filming moves his arm in an unnatural way and the flag in his hand seems to appear and disappear. A video shows a man running with a group while holding a burning Union flag. The flag is on fire, however the material does not appear to be blackening, and the way the men behind the protagonist interact seems almost ghost-like as they move through each other in unnatural ways. In a video in which the man says 'thank you British taxpayers for feeding us this good food', a fork can be seen appearing seemingly out of thin air in the background while a man appears to pass a plate through his own hand.
