
Kenya inflation rate rises to 4.1% in April
NAIROBI: Kenya's inflation rate in April rose to 4.1% year-on-year, up from 3.6% a month before, the statistics office said on Wednesday.
On a monthly basis, inflation was at 0.3% in April, the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics said in a statement.
Kenya's inflation rate has risen steadily since a low of 2.7% in October, but remains well within the central bank's 2.5% to 7.5% target range.
Kenyan shilling steady amid scant activity
Earlier this month Kenya's central bank cut its policy interest rate for the fifth meeting in a row to 10.0%, a surprise move aimed at further stimulating private sector lending.

KARACHI: The Pakistan Kenya Business Council (PKBC) has announced plans to organize an importers networking expo on 22nd July 2025 in Nairobi to further strengthen Kenya-Pakistan trade ties. Rafique Seluman, General Secretary informed that the exp will be a dynamic platform for impactful business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) networking. This event will be followed by factory visits on 23rd July, offering participants firsthand insights into key industries and operations', he added He said the PKBC continues to position itself as a vital bridge between the private sectors of Pakistan and Kenya, aiming to unlock new business opportunities, strengthen commercial ties, and drive mutual economic growth. Kenya shilling steady in subdued market activity
NAIROBI: The Kenyan shilling remained stable in early trade on Monday, with market activity subdued, traders said. As of 0705 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 129.00/50, unchanged from Friday's closing rate.
