Caught On Cam: Bullfighter Killed After Taunting Animal During Festival In Columbia
Colombian bullfighter died after being gored by a bull at the 'corraleja' festival in Fundación, Magdalena, causing panic among the crowd.
In a horrific incident recorded on camera, a Colombian bullfighter was killed after taunting the animal. He was gored to death during a festival.
The victim, Yovanis Márquez, 35, participated in the 'corraleja,' a bullfighting festival in the small town of Fundación in the northern Colombian region of Magdalena. As the incident occurred, panic spread across the crowd and people started running.
As per the footage, Márquez tries to dominate a huge bull by leaping over it, but he could not get through and instead the animal attacks him multiple times. He can be seen flying in air after bull hits him with its horn.
The video shows locals escorting Márquez away, but he later succumbed to the injuries, as per the local media.
Colombian animal rights group Plataforma ALTO shared the video on X and called it an act of 'self-defense'. 'The man passed away yesterday after being gored by an injured bull, in an act of self-defense, during the 'festivities' of the municipality," the post reads.
One of the eyewitnesses told El Tiempo, 'He stood up as if he was fine, but the blood was flowing. It was only a few seconds before he fell to the ground."

47-Year-Old Man Arrested For Racial Abuse At Antonie Semenyo In PL Opener
Last Updated: A man was arrested after AFC Bournemouth's Antonie Semenyo reported racial abuse during a game against Liverpool. A man was arrested after AFC Bournemouth forward Antonie Semenyo reported racial abuse directed at him from the stands during a game against Liverpool at Anfield Stadium. The Premier League opener between champions Liverpool and Bournemouth was halted for several minutes in the first half due to an allegation of 'discriminatory abuse" from a supporter towards Semenyo. Play resumed, and an anti-discrimination message was later read out to the crowd at half-time. Merseyside Police confirmed on Saturday that a 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and taken into custody for questioning. Earlier, Semenyo expressed his gratitude on social media for the support he received after the incident, highlighting the unity of the football community. 'Last night at Anfield will stay with me forever – not because of one person's words, but because of how the entire football family stood together. 'To my @afcb teammates who supported me in that moment, to the @liverpoolfc players and fans who showed their true character, to the @premierleague officials who handled it professionally – thank you. 'The overwhelming messages of support from across the football world remind me why I love this sport. We keep moving forward, together," Semenyo's social media post read. Among those who supported Semenyo were Liverpool head coach and captain Arne Slot. (With IANS Inputs) view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
