Colts apologize to Tyreek Hill and Microsoft over schedule release video
The Indianapolis Colts have apologized for a since-deleted video posted to their social media platforms following the release of the NFL's regular-season schedule on Wednesday.
"We removed our schedule release video because it exceeded our rights with Microsoft and included an insensitive clip involving Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill. We sincerely apologize to Microsoft and Tyreek," the team said in a statement to multiple outlets on Thursday.
The video revealed the Colts' season-opening game against the Miami Dolphins with the image of a dolphin wearing a No. 10 jersey and labeled "Hill" swimming along before being stopped by a Coast Guard boat with a siren.
Hill was pulled over outside of Hard Rock Stadium in Miami just hours before the Dolphins' season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 8, 2024. He was taken to the ground by police, handcuffed and issued two traffic citations that were later dropped.
Hill, however, said he wasn't offended in a social media post on Thursday.
"Should've left it up (Colts), this was funny," he wrote.
Per the Microsoft rights violation, it likely stems from the fact that the corporation purchased Mojang, the firm behind the popular game Minecraft. The images used in the Colts' video closely resemble those of the game.

The Oklahoma City Thunder, fueled by an efficient 34 points from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, thumped the Indiana Pacers 123-107 on Sunday, punching back hard to even the NBA Finals at one game apiece. Myles Turner added 16 points and Pascal Siakam had 15 as seven Pacers players scored in double figures, but the Thunder maintained their record of not losing back-to-back games in these playoffs. Microsoft says that its coming ROG Xbox Ally handheld gaming devices will be available by the year-end holiday season, with pricing soon to be disclosed Microsoft on Sunday unveiled its first Xbox-branded handheld gaming devices, touting them as a way to play its vast library of titles anywhere. Two "ROG Xbox Ally" models made in a partnership with Taiwan-based ASUS will be available by the year-end holiday season, Xbox president Sarah Bond said during an online event showcasing games heading for the platform. "The Xbox Ally is an Xbox you can hold in your hands, bringing together the power of Xbox and the freedom of Windows," Bond said. "On this Xbox, you can play games across your entire library, including all the Windows PC game stores from Xbox and to Steam, GOG (Good Old Games platform) and Ubisoft Connect." The peek at Xbox Ally came just days after the release of Nintendo's Switch 2, the handheld console that could score record early sales for the Japanese "Super Mario" creator. The Nintendo device, which features a bigger screen and more processing power, is an upgrade to the Switch that became a global phenomenon with hit games such as "Animal Crossing." Microsoft promised to disclose pricing and release date details for Xbox Ally in the coming months. Both Xbox handhelds appeared similar to Microsoft console controllers in terms of buttons, toggles and grips but looked elongated to provide room for center screens. Dodgers need more offense to avoid sweep at Cardinals
The Los Angeles Dodgers will try to revive their offense Sunday afternoon and avoid a three-game road sweep against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Dodgers went 1-for-25 with runners in scoring position while suffering 5-0 and 2-1 losses during the first two games in this series at Busch Stadium. Their only run Saturday was scored on a wild pitch while Freddie Freeman was striking out. Freeman went 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position and Will Smith and Tommy Edman each went 0-for-2. That futility puts more pressure on the Dodgers pitchers. "Obviously our offense is better than that," Los Angeles reliever Ben Casparius said after suffering Saturday's loss. "It's a close game like that, but I don't see it as (the pitchers) trying to do too much." The Dodgers, who have lost five of their last seven games, will turn to veteran left-hander Clayton Kershaw (0-0, 5.17 ERA) to finish the series. Kershaw will continue his comeback from knee and toe surgeries while making his fifth start. In his first four starts this season, Kershaw has completed just 15 2/3 innings while rebuilding his endurance. He struggled with his command in his last outing while needing 92 pitches to work 4 2/3 innings. Kershaw allowed five runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks against the New York Mets on June 3. He struck out two in a game the Dodgers eventually won 6-5 in 10 innings. In his career, Kershaw is 11-6 with a 2.87 ERA in 22 career starts against the Cardinals. The Dodgers bolstered their pitching staff Saturday, activating Kirby Yates from the 15-day injured list and Michael Kopech from the 60-day IL. With the team in a stretch of 28 games in 29 days, McGreevy could stick in the majors as a sixth starter. McGreevy defeated the New York Mets on May 4 in his only previous start this season.
