Miley Cyrus says lack of ‘infrastructure' has left her with no ‘desire' to tour
Despite releasing a new album, Something Beautiful, in May, the singer said she is not interested in touring, describing the toll it takes on her mental health.
Speaking on ABC's Good Morning America, Cyrus said: 'I do have the physical ability and I have the opportunities to tour. I wish I had the desire, but I don't.'
She added: 'I also don't think that there's actually an infrastructure that supports artists.
'Artists like Prince, that are not here today, that lived such a high-intensity lifestyle out on the road, and it's really hard to maintain sobriety when you're on the road, which is a really important kind of pillar of stability in my life.
'And not only losing their life, but losing their minds. None of this that I create would ever be possible without the way that I think about things.'
The popstar was last on tour in 2022, performing at festivals across North and South America.
She added: 'I do think it's really hard to keep you know mental wellness.
'You have so many thousands of people screaming at you, so dopamine, you're feeling a lot of love, and then you totally crash at the end of the show and you start thinking that one person loving you is not enough, it needs to be 10,000, it needs to be 80,000.'
This comes after Cyrus joined singer Beyonce during her Cowboy Carter tour to perform their track II Most Wanted at a show in Paris.
She said: 'When you're standing beside her, you can actually feel her desire and her passion. That, to me, is a win. It's not a trophy, it's not something physical that you hold or put on a shelf, but it's something that I have that's a true win.
The singer also stars in a new film, Miley Cyrus: Something Beautiful, which will be available to stream on Disney+ from July 30.

Beyonce teases surprise move away from country music for next album – with name a nod to ‘flamboyant' music legend
Find out how Sabrina Carpenter chose to unwind after one of the biggest shows of her career BEY'S NEW BET Beyonce teases surprise move away from country music for next album – with name a nod to 'flamboyant' music legend Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) SHE dabbled in dance with chart-topping record Renaissance, then country with Cowboy Carter, and now it seems Beyonce is about to become a fully-fledged rock star. The Texas Hold 'Em singer has been dropping hints that her next album will be called Betty Black — and she is already teasing a corresponding tour before her current one has even finished. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 9 Beyonce had a nod to American singer and model Betty Davis ahead of the release of her new album Credit: Instagram/@beyonce 9 Beyonce is planning to release her new album next year and has another tour in the works Credit: Redferns Her 32-date Cowboy Carter trek finishes a week today in Las Vegas, but the website now redirects to her own site. It is believed that the title is a bid to reclaim the 1977 song Black Betty by Ram Jam, which has its roots in African-American music and has become controversial in recent years due to its connection with a whip used on enslaved people in prisons. It is likely to also be a nod to late American singer and model Betty Davis, who was publicly scorned for her sexually liberating lyrics and funk-rock sound, which led to her being boycotted by radio and TV stations. Betty has been described as 'wildly flamboyant', with the 'gritty emotional realism of Tina Turner, the futurist fashion sense of David Bowie and the trend–setting flair of Miles Davis,' the latter of whom she was briefly married to. And it wouldn't be the first time Beyonce has referenced her. On a remix of her Renaissance song Break My Soul, Beyonce sang 'Betty Davis, we love you', and on her Cowboy Carter track Bodyguard, she sang 'Davis in my bones'. Bey went on to dress up as her for Halloween last year and, in a video for her GQ cover story to promote her whisky brand SirDavis, the Betty Davis song They Say I'm Different was used. In another teaser about the Betty Black title, during her Cowboy Carter tour show, a newspaper appears on a screen behind her which has the headline: 'Betty Black tour sold out.' And fans reckon they have worked out that her next album will be released on May 29, 2026, given she has picked Friday the 29th to release her last two records, and that is the next time the 29th falls on a Friday. Blue Ivy looks IDENTICAL to mom Beyonce as she arrives in Paris with dad Jay-Z The project will wrap up a trilogy of albums, which she announced when Renaissance came out in 2022. In a message on her website at the time, she said: 'This three-act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic. 'Thank you to all of the pioneers who originate culture, to all of the fallen angels whose contributions have gone unrecognised for far too long. This is a celebration for you.' Bey has been vocal about her love for rock'n'rollers like Betty and Tina Turner — who has inspired several outfits on her latest tour. So I'm excited to see what she's cooked up, even if we do have a ten-month wait on our hands. It Girl Sabrina 9 Sabrina Carpenter flew to Tuscany where she treated her pals to a luxury getaway Credit: Supplied SABRINA CARPENTER celebrated the biggest shows of her career by jetting off to a £6,500-a-night villa in Italy to unwind. I can reveal that after performing to 130,000 fans during two shows at BST Hyde Park in London earlier this month, she flew to Tuscany where she treated her pals to a luxury getaway. They stayed at the 600-year-old Villa I Busini which has seven bedrooms, a pool, walled gardens and a chef to make them breakfast. The Espresso singer shared photos on Instagram of her well-deserved holiday. She has had a stratospheric 18 months with a world tour and hit album Short n' Sweet, which spent a whopping 46 weeks in the Top Five. On top of that, she has somehow found the time to record an entirely new album, Man's Best Friend, which will be released on August 29. The first single Manchild has already gone to No1 and I've no doubt the follow-ups will be huge too. I hope workaholic Sabrina managed to switch off on her break, because the rest of the year is going to be even busier. New twist in Leigh-Anne's tale 9 Leigh-Anne showed off her flexibility in a promo photo for her new single Been A Minute Credit: Niklas Haze LEIGH-ANNE gets a foot up on her competition as she samples a Noughties favourite for her comeback tune. The former Little Mix star, who is now going it alone as an independent artist, showed off her flexibility in a promo photo for her new single Been A Minute, which features the hook from the 2001 Masters At Work song, Work. Also back with new music is Tinie Tempah with his song Eat It Up, with East LA, Jayo with Turning Me On and Robbie Williams' Spies, from his album BritPop, due out on October 10. I also recommend newcomer Nectar Woode's sublime EP It's Like I Never Left, while Robert Plant has put out Everybody's Song, from his upcoming album Saving Grace. Ahead of the new series of Line Of Duty, Vicky McClure has shown off her vocal skills as a guest singer on Reverend & The Makers' new single Haircut. And after racking up half a million views in a fortnight, Yungblud has released his breathtaking cover of Black Sabbath's Changes, recorded at their Back To The Beginning farewell concert, to raise money for charity. 9 Alex Warren says he was not a fan of his own mega-hit Ordinary when he first wrote it Credit: Getty ALEX WARREN admitted he 'hated' his song Ordinary when he first wrote it – despite it going on to become the biggest track of the year, spending 13 weeks at No1. On Hits Radio Breakfast yesterday, the American musician, below, explained: 'When we first wrote it, I actually hated it. 'I hated it when it was just us on a guitar, like, we didn't really do anything to it. 'We were still writing it and I was like, 'It just doesn't sound like a record I'd put out.' 'And then I sang it and I was like, 'OK, let's see where this goes.' "And we started putting stuff into the file and it sounded insane when we started adding the choir and everyone on top of it, and I was like, 'Holy shoot. This is amazing.'' Sir Paul's piano made BGT Tom very Abbey 9 Britain's Got Talent star Tom Ball was pictured at Abbey Road with wife Hannah and daughter Adeline Credit: Supplied BRITAIN'S Got Talent singer songwriter Tom Ball is following in the footsteps of greatness. The vocal powerhouse, who released new single Timeless last month, got to use Sir Paul McCartney's piano at Abbey Road studios when working on new music. He told Bizarre: 'It was really amazing. I got to play on the piano when I was in Abbey Road and there's just so much history. You could still feel the dents in the keys where he used to play.' Tom, pictured at Abbey Road with wife Hannah and their six-month-old daughter Adeline, will release second album Spotlight on October 10. He is also playing shows around the globe, including in the US, where he gained new fans after winning America's Got Talent: All-Stars in 2023. But the ex-teacher admitted that he isn't too proud to go back to the classroom. Tom said: 'I love what I do but teaching was fun too. I'd go back. 'Right now I'm making a lot of music. I have my own studio at home, which is great.' 9 Katy Perry shared a picture on TikTok wrapped head to toe in a dressing gown Credit: TikTok KATY PERRY is still up for a laugh despite her split from Orlando Bloom. She shared a video on her secret TikTok page of herself wrapped head to toe in a dressing gown as she left the Kia Forum in Los Angeles following her latest Lifetimes Tour gig. The Firework singer has been posting all sorts of silly clips @urmom_ontour – although not many fans have realised it's actually her. I just want to wrap myself up in my dressing gown sometimes too, Katy. Margot gin treat a tonic 9 Margot Robbie shocked punters at a bar in London by buying a round of drinks Credit: MARGOT ROBBIE is a woman after my own heart, having forked out for a massive round of drinks for surprised punters. The Barbie actress was at a restaurant with her movie producer husband Tom Ackerley and a group of mates when she shouted to everyone she was giving them all a treat. One of the lucky diners at Bondi Green in Paddington, West London told me: 'We were eating lunch and then sudden-ly Margot stood up and said she was buying every single person a drink. 'She had the bar staff make cocktails from her Papa Salt gin and had them served to everyone who wanted one. 'It was a lovely gesture and she was in great spirits – very relaxed and friendly.' That's a sure-fire way to win people over. And an easy way to plug her booze brand. JOJO SIWA's Infinity Heart Tour will head to the UK in October with gigs at Newcastle, London, Manchester, Brighton and Birmingham. The Celebrity Big Brother finalist has just released a cover of Bette Davis Eyes, but we've been told she is also working on original music. Safe to say Bizarre's Jack will be there front and centre. Simon's Aston smarting 9 Kate Thornton has shared an old secret about how The X Factor was filmed Credit: Getty FORMER X Factor host Kate Thornton has finally revealed why the judges' houses section of the show did not take place at the panel's actual homes. She has claimed that someone damaged one of Simon Cowell's cars when they did film at his plush pad and he decided never to let them in again. Kate who hosted X Factor from 2004 to 2006, said on her White Wine Question Time podcast: 'Do you know why we'd gone to Spain? The year before, we'd done it in Simon's actual house. 'Somebody had driven something into one of his cars, the Aston or something. 'He was trying to pretend not to be p***ed off – but he was really p***ed off. 'So he was like, 'We're taking it abroad.''

Beyonce concert leads to chaos with post-show STAMPEDE that injures 11 as the outrageous cause is revealed
Beyoncé fans looking to get home after a concert this week in Georgia were beset by panic and widespread injuries after a stampede ensued at a nearby rail station. Concertgoers were leaving the final show of Beyoncé's run of Cowboy Carter concerts at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the early morning hours of July 15 when a shocking pileup ensued at the Vine City Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) Station, according to Fox 5 Atlanta. The stampede, which occurred on an escalator going down into the station, reportedly left 11 people injured. has reached out to MARTA officials for comment but hasn't yet received a response. Stephany Fisher, the senior director of communications for MARTA, told on Friday: 'Just after midnight on Tuesday, July 15, 11 people leaving the Beyoncé concert at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in downtown Atlanta were injured on an escalator at Vine City Station. 'One person suffered a broken ankle, seven people were transported to the hospital with cuts and scrapes, and one person declined transport,' she continued. 'Two people requested medical assistance after reaching their destinations.' Fisher also relayed information from MARTA police officers, who suggested that the commotion was set in motion when 'a person began screaming and running, causing a stampede on the escalator that caused it to temporarily speed up and then stop suddenly.' She noted that the escalator had since been cordoned off from passengers to ensure no further injuries. Fisher added that both MARTA and Schindler, the company that built the escalator, were investigating what caused it to malfunction. In a statement, Schindler extended sympathy to injured passengers and said: 'At this time, we have no verified information as to the cause and it would be inappropriate to speculate.' According to local station 11Alive, MARTA police chief Scott Kreher and acting CEO Rhonda Allen revealed what they believe was the cause of the dangerous commotion. In video from the meeting, Kreher claimed that a 10-year-old girl reportedly began screaming after she saw a cockroach or 'palmetto bug.' Allen added, 'There was someone who started to scream outside of the station. She was startled by a bug outside, outside the large crowd.' The officials said that the screams spooked transit users further inside the station, where a mass of people were already lined up on an escalator, which was allegedly overcrowded at the time. According to MARTA's acting CEO Rhonda Allen, the quick movements of the people on the escalator, combined with the immense weight on the device caused it to speed up at first, before it came to a dead stop 'Imagine a group of people saying, "I want to get down, I want to get down," began to usher themselves down the escalator,' Allen said at the board meeting. According to her, the quick movements of the people on the escalator, combined with the immense weight on the device caused it to speed up at first, before it came to a dead stop. A short video clip posted online appears to show the escalator as it was already packed with people who had rushed on amid the commotion. It appears to briefly speed up then sudden stop as some people are seen falling forward. The sudden jerk tossed passengers onto the ground and reportedly led to many of the injuries. Other video showed passengers trying to help others off the ground. One particularly gruesome clip showed a person's leg that appeared to have been severely lacerated in the stampede as it oozed blood. Allen claimed the escalator had been inspected just days before the calamity, suggesting it had been in working order at the time. According to the manufacturer, 'It appears that the escalator was overloaded beyond design capacity causing the unit to briefly accelerate and the brakes to engage as part of the unit's multi-layered, code-required safety system' However, an inspection certificate on the escalator said the certification was set to expire in August, according to 11Alive. In a statement to People on Friday, Schindler said the malfunctioning escalator had been examined later on the morning of July 15, and inspectors determined that 'there was no indication of equipment malfunction.' Instead, 'it appears that the escalator was overloaded beyond design capacity causing the unit to briefly accelerate and the brakes to engage as part of the unit's multi-layered, code-required safety system,' the statement continued. 'As also indicated during the Working Session, prior to the incident, the escalator has undergone standard monthly maintenance with the most recent service taking place on July 10th, less than a week before the incident. The escalator was found to be fully compliant and performing as expected at that time. Again, we extend our sympathies to the persons injured and will continue to provide technical support and cooperate fully with any further investigative efforts.' In order to decrease the likelihood of such mishaps in the future, Allen outlined a plan to the board for more 'aggressive' transit staffing at major events like Beyoncé's concert. She said the extra employees would be better able to coordinate passengers and ensure that only the approved number are on escalators at a given time. MARTA confirmed to 11Alive that members of its police force were present in the station at the the time of the stampede. Beyoncé's July 14 show was the fourth and final of her Atlanta run of Cowboy Carter concerts, which began on July 10. She will next be performing a two-night run in Las Vegas on July 25 and 26.

Spooked Jimmy Kimmel's F-word rant over Colbert cancelation as his own late night show circles the drain
Jimmy Kimmel ranted at CBS bosses over the cancelation of his rival Stephen Colbert 's late night amid growing claims Kimmel faces the ax too. Kimmel shared a video of Colbert telling his audience the grim news, writing, 'Love you Stephen. F*** you and all your Sheldons CBS.' The shady comment appeared to reference the Big Bang Theory universe on CBS, which includes shows like Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage and Young Sheldon. Colbert shared the abrupt cancelation of his show during Thursday's taping, telling his live audience that the network was ending the program next year and this would be the last season of late-night on CBS. He revealed that he heard the news just a day before and agreed with the audience's persistent boos. Colbert clarified that CBS wasn't replacing him, and that 'it was all just going away.' He praised the job and said he wished someone else could take over his chair. The network's decision to end its late-night programming altogether comes as the genre of late-night television has struggled to adapt to the streaming age. It could serve as a grim warning to other late-night hosts, including Kimmel, who have seen a sharp decline in ratings amid nightly woke rants and tired anti-Trump jokes. The Daily Mail reached out to ABC for comment. The big three of the genre have long been considered to be Kimmel, Colbert, and Fallon, all competing at the coveted time slot of 11:35 pm EST. The three hosts represent the three major network power players, ABC, CBS, and NBC, respectively. Colbert has typically scored the top spot in ratings, finishing first in 2023 and 2024 with an average of 2.6 million viewers. Kimmel finished the last two years in second, with an average of 1.82 million viewers, while Fallon placed third with 1.43 million, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Despite Colbert's success in ratings, the network still decided to axe his slot altogether, potentially representing a bleak outlook for the two Jimmys. All three late-night shows dipped in ratings over the last five years, and shows at the 12:35 slot were even worse off. CBS ended James Corden's The Late Late Show in 2023, citing that the later time slot was no longer profitable for the network. Similarly to Colbert's departure, CBS opted to end the program altogether and never replaced Corden. Viewing habits have changed in the age of streaming platforms like Netflix, making it harder for networks to attract advertisers - and the gigantic salaries of the little-watched late night hosts. CBS are rumored to pay Colbert $15 million-a-year for his doomed show, with Kimmel said to be on the same enormous amount and Fallon on slightly more at $16 million. But shows that once combined light celebrity interviews with gentle social commentary are now filled with constant jibes about President Trump and politics, with fewer viewers having a stomach for such sourness just before bedtime. Colbert helped to produce a less expensive alternative titled After Midnight, hosted by Taylor Tomlinson, but the show also struggled to gain traction and was canceled after only two seasons. Colbert's departure now signals CBS's exit from the late-night game altogether, ending a generations-long tradition of the three power players competing for number one. Founding host David Letterman hosted the program for over 20 years before handing it off to Colbert in 2015. During Letterman's stint, Jay Leno hosted The Tonight Show on NBC, marking a years-long battle between the two for the top show. Letterman and Leno's generation represented a golden age in late-night, but streaming and social media have made it difficult for the genre to endure. Paramount, CBS's parent corporation, has also undergone shakeups, with a deal pending to merge with Skydance. Skydance, fronted by Trump backer Larry Ellison's son, David, has proposed a merger with Paramount to the tune of $8.4 billion. The merger, which will need approval from the Trump administration, comes as Paramount agreed to settle a lawsuit with the president for $16 million. Just a few days before the news dropped of The Late Show's cancellation, Colbert slammed Paramount for accepting the settlement on-air. He called the payout a 'big, fat, bribe,' and criticized his parent company of not fighting harder against it. Paramount denied any political motivation for canceling the program, explaining that the decision was a 'purely a financial' one 'against a challenging backdrop in late night.' 'We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire the Late Show franchise at that time,' the executives said. 'We are proud that Stephen called CBS home. He and his broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late night television.' 'It is not related in any way to the show's performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount,' the statement added.
