
South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle
South Korean actress Kang Seo-ha, who appeared in the K-dramas "Heart Surgeons" and "First Love Again", has died following her battle with stage four stomach cancer.
Kang passed away at around 1.30 pm on Sunday, as confirmed in a report by Korean media outlet Sports Kyunghang a day later.
The late actress' wake will be held at the funeral hall of the Catholic University of Korea, Seoul St. Mary's Hospital on July 16, and she will be buried in her family's plot somewhere in Haman, Gyeongnam Province.
Despite her illness, she was working on the film "Magnaein", in which she played the lead, before her death.
An alum of Korea National University of Arts' School of Drama and first gained recognition, Kang first gained prominence after appearing in the music video of Brave Guys' song "Getting Farther Away" in 2012.
Some of her other projects include "Schoolgirl Detectives" and "Assembly". Her upcoming film "Magnaein" will be released posthumously after her death; its release date has yet to be announced.

Willem Dafoe Eyeing Reunion with Robert Eggers on "Werwulf"
Yara Sameh Robert Eggers and Willem Dafoe seems to have found their next project in "Werwulf" at Focus Features. The Oscar-nominated actor is in talks to star opposite Aaron-Taylor Johnson in Eggers next film. Lily Rose-Depp is also in talks to join the cast. Eggers will direct and co-wrote the script with his "The Northman" co-writer Sjón. "Werwulf" is getting a Christmas Day 2026 release in North America. Focus is producing and financing. Eggers and Sjón will produce alongside Focus as will Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner for Working Title. Maiden Voyage's Chris and Eleanor Columbus executive producing. While plot details are under wraps, based on the title, the film will likely revolve around the mythical monster. Dafoe has become the director's muse of late, having previously appeared in his past three films: "The Lighthouse," "The Northman," and "Nosferatu." The two are also looking to work together on a new retelling of "A Christmas Carol" at Warner Bros. that has Eggers directing and Dafoe in early talks to star. Dafoe was most recently seen in the A24 pic "The Legend of Ochi" and is currently filming the Apple Original Films "Tenzing." "Tron: Ares" Drops Trailer
Yara Sameh Ahead of the movie's big splash at San Diego Comic-Con next week in Hall H, Disney has dropped a new trailer for "Tron: Ares," the third film in the 'Tron' franchise after the 1982 original and the 2010 sequel Tron: Legacy.' Jared Leto leads the film, which includes original star Jeff Bridges back as Kevin Flynn. Leto plays Ares, one of the programs from the digital universe who is tasked to enter the real world. The cast also includes Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardins, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, and Gillian Anderson. Notably, Peters plays Julian Dillinger, who shares a last name with David Warner's Ed Dillinger, the villain from the first film. Nine Inch Nails, the industrial rock and electronica band founded by Trent Reznor and joined in 2016 by frequent collaborator Atticus Ross, are scoring the film. Reznor and Ross have won Oscars for their scores for 2010's 'The Social Network' and 2020's 'Soul.' They also won Grammys for their soundtracks to 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' and 'Soul.' Most recently, they scored Luca Guadagnino's hit tennis film 'Challengers.' Lili Reinhart to Star in "The Love Hypothesis" Film Adaptation
Yara Sameh After winning Series Mania's Best Actress Award for her turn opposite Cooper Raiff in Mubi's "Hal & Harper", Lili Reinhart has signed on to star in and exec produce "The Love Hypothesis", an adaptation of the New York Times bestseller by Ali Hazelwood, for Amazon MGM Studios and MRC. In the romantic comedy, Olive Smith, a biology PhD candidate, and Dr. Adam Carlsen, a hotshot professor and well-known tyrant, enter into a fake relationship, seeing each of their carefully calculated theories on love get thrown into chaos. Published by Berkley, an imprint of Penguin Random House, Hazelwood's novel spent 10 months on the New York Times bestseller list, breaking out internationally in 40 countries. Originally acquired for publication by editor Sarah Blumenstock at Berkley, the book was also named the Best Romance of the Year by Amazon. Hazelwood is also known for titles like "Problematic Summer Romance," "Deep End," and "Bride", among others. Soon to be seen starring opposite Raiff and Mark Ruffalo in the former's indie TV series "Hal & Harper", a project she produced which was acquired by MUBI following its premiere at Sundance, Reinhart's upcoming slate also includes Uta Briesewitz's "American Sweatshop," which premiered at SXSW this year. She recently wrapped on Brian Swibel's directorial debut, "The Very Best People," as well as Meredith Alloway's first feature, "Forbidden Fruits," which IFC Films will release in 2026.
