Podz uses Steph analogy to address Giannis-Bucks trade rumors

Wisconsin native Brandin Podziemski is on the Warriors, but he grew up watching Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

So as trade rumors swirl around the two-time NBA MVP, Podziemski understands the gravity of Antetokounmpo potentially leaving Milwaukee — especially since he plays alongside another one-team generational talent in Steph Curry.
'I mean, [it's] the same thing with any player like that, it's like Steph not playing for the Warriors,' Podziemski told Kay Adams on the 'Up & Adams' show Tuesday. 'All guys who cemented their legacy and what they're about in this league with one team, you never expected it to change. The same with Luka Dončić and Dallas [Mavericks], like the whole world is shocked because of the player he is, and you can see how they were building around him. But like I said, it's like any star in the league that stays with one team, you just expect them to be in one jersey and anywhere else just doesn't seem right at all.'
The Bay Area likely would riot if Curry left the Warriors, but Dub Nation certainly would welcome Antetokounmpo to Golden State with open arms. However, while Antetokounmpo reportedly met with the Bucks to discuss his and the team's future, it remains unclear if he will request a trade out of Milwaukee even if the Warriors are an intriguing destination.

Golden State would have to give up plenty for that to happen, and it also views recent addition Jimmy Butler as a subtle superstar who will continue to push the team to new heights next season.
For Podziemski, who has played against Antetokounmpo and the Bucks four times in his young NBA career, it's always a full-circle moment to go up against someone whose career arc he has observed from Day 1. In Podziemski's first game back in Milwaukee against the Bucks on Jan. 13, 2024, he shone with 23 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals.
'I saw Giannis get drafted,' Podziemski told Adams. 'I was at a lot of games his rookie year and throughout his development. And so to be on the same court as him, playing against him, competing, it's pretty cool, but it's also kind of a full-circle moment for me, just because I played at Illinois and we played in Marquette, which is in Milwaukee, and I didn't play any minutes that game, and I had a bunch of people that are watching me.
'So to go back there my rookie year and play well and play a lot in front of those same people, it was kind of refreshing for me.'

Whether or not Antetokounmpo's arc brings him to the Warriors alongside Podziemski — or elsewhere in the league — remains to be seen.

Bold Trade Proposal Pairs Giannis Antetokounmpo With Stephen Curry; Warriors Start New Dynasty
Bold Trade Proposal Pairs Giannis Antetokounmpo With Stephen Curry; Warriors Start New Dynasty originally appeared on Fadeaway World. The Golden State Warriors have been very closely linked with Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo in the offseason. The Bucks forward effectively shook the league after announcing his decision to entertain trade talks, and by doing so, also expressed his desire to play with Warriors' star Stephen Curry. Advertisement Antetokounmpo has been rumored to show a rising interest in joining forces with Curry on the Warriors. Although the forward had presented a list of preferences when it comes to trade destinations, his appearances in San Francisco certainly don't give away where his true intentions lie. As things stand, teams like the Miami Heat, the Toronto Raptors, and the San Antonio Spurs have looked like some of the most likely destinations. While the Warriors have also been presented as a potential landing spot, the consensus has been that the team may not be able to afford him. Antetokounmpo comes with a massive $54.1 million cap hit. While Golden State is very comfortable with paying the luxury tax, a trio of Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Antetokounmpo will render the organization helpless with adding more players to the team. But what if there was a way to make such a trade happen without the Warriors giving up their star players? In our bold trade proposal, we present a three-trade to make such a deal happen. Advertisement Proposed Trade Details: Golden State Warriors Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo Milwaukee Bucks Receive: Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, Trayce Jackson-Davis, Gary Payton II, Patrick Williams, 2026 first-round pick (GSW), 2028 first-round pick (GSW), 2027 first-round pick (CHI), 2029 first-round pick (CHI), 2028 second-round pick (CHI) Chicago Bulls Receive: Jonathan Kuminga The blockbuster trade sees a lot of moving parts. However, it could prove to be beneficial for each team in some manner. The Warriors Dynasty Is Reborn With Giannis Antetokounmpo The Golden State Warriors were the most prolific franchise in the last 10 years. Having won four titles in eight years, the Dubs set themselves apart as one of the NBA's best teams. Advertisement Although the side hasn't fallen out of title contention, they aren't considered favorites anymore. The arrival of Giannis Antetokounmpo would immediately change that. Antetokounmpo, on his day, is the most dominant player on the floor. His regular season averages of 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists are phenomenal, especially considering his shooting average of 60.1% from the field. The Greek star would single-handedly transform the Warriors team. Playing alongside a monster on the perimeter in Curry, the inside-outside combo between the two would wreak havoc on any opposing defense. Add Butler's versatile midrange scoring to this, and the Warriors have a recipe for success. Outside of the offensive contributions, Antetokounmpo also makes for an incredibly potent defensive force. The Warriors' need for length in their interior would immediately be addressed by his presence in the paint. Pairing this with Green and Butler's defensive presence and Golden State theoretically boasts the best team in the league. Advertisement The star pairing of Curry and Butler may be aging, but the team's intentions of winning a title are still alive. While the window is short, having Antetokounmpo on the team puts the Warriors in a position to maximize their chances of winning within that small time frame. The Milwaukee Bucks Can Begin Their Rebuild The Bucks saw a disappointing end to their postseason campaign. After being eliminated in five games by the Indiana Pacers, the franchise was aware of the changes that needed to be made. While they intend to find a way to retain Antetokounmpo for another season, in this scenario, facilitating a trade for their star is a call for a rebuild. This trade proposal gives the team enough capital to trigger a roster overhaul. Players such as Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, and Patrick Williams could be of huge benefit from a developmental point of view as well. Advertisement Podziemski has shown a lot of potential as a starting guard. His pesky defensive work and streaky three-point shooting make him a threat on both ends of the floor. In his sophomore season, the 22-year-old recorded an average of 11.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game on shooting splits of 44.5% from the field and 37.2% from the three-point line. Although he may not be the ideal fit next to Damian Lillard, he certainly is a great addition from the point of view of a rebuild. Meanwhile, Moody has been a player who has been deserving of more playing time on the Warriors. As an immensely competent two-way wing, Moody would bring a lot of value to a developing team. The 22-year-old forward notched an average of 9.8 points and 2.3 rebounds on 43.3% shooting from the field. The forward's cap-friendly contract makes him a solid acquisition for the Bucks. Advertisement In the guard rotation, the Bucks would also add Gary Payton II. The defensive guard has been a key element on the Warriors' roster. Unfortunately, injuries have impacted his ability. While he remains a valuable asset, Milwaukee may opt to move him due to his age not fitting the timeline for a rebuild. In the frontcourt, Milwaukee also acquired Trayce Jackson-Davis and Patrick Williams. The Warriors' backup center has shown a lot of growth potential, averaging 6.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Williams has also shown similar flashes of developmental potential, with an average of 9.0 points and 3.8 rebounds per game on 39.7% FG. The Bucks are likely to see a lot of key frontcourt pieces leave the team in free agency. These acquisitions allow them to have some semblance of a frontcourt rotation. The real prize in this trade is the draft capital that Milwaukee will be taking away. Four first-round picks and a second-round pick, all stacked over four years, are an incredible addition for the Bucks. With a rebuild in mind, the franchise has all the elements in place to structure a roster that can eventually compete for a playoff spot again. The Chicago Bulls Find Their Next Star Much like Antetokounmpo, Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga has also been a name that has been floating around in the trade market. After a series of games saw him sidelined or receiving fewer minutes, the forward stepped in for the team in the postseason. Unfortunately, the result was not something that favored Golden State. Advertisement Kuminga's position with the Warriors has already been addressed by head coach Steve Kerr. Having been made known of the fact that he will not be receiving more minutes, it is more than likely that the 22-year-old will be on the way out of San Francisco in the offseason. In this scenario, the Bulls would be a great landing spot for him. The Warriors forward has aspirations of becoming an All-Star, and the Bulls are in dire need of one. Chicago is currently spearheaded by young forward Matas Buzelis, supported by Coby White and Josh Giddey. The addition of Kuminga immediately bolsters the roster while also giving Buzelis a legitimate young star as a running mate. Kuminga averaged 15.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in only 24.3 minutes played in the regular season. With a scope for astronomical improvement in a different system, the forward could explore and cultivate his offensive abilities to his fullest. Advertisement Chicago also has a legacy of developing star talent. By acquiring Kuminga, the Bulls may not become competitive right away, but it certainly puts them on the path to something interesting. Celtics Emerge As Dark-Horse Suitors In Potential Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade
Celtics Emerge As Dark-Horse Suitors In Potential Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade originally appeared on Fadeaway World. The Boston Celtics may have just entered the most high-stakes sweepstakes of the NBA offseason. According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, the Celtics are one of a few teams that could realistically pull off a trade for Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and still remain championship contenders in the aftermath. Advertisement "I think you have to look at the teams that could make a trade for Giannis that the Bucks would accept and, on the other side of the trade, would have a contending team." "So Boston would be on that list. I think New York would be on that list. You know, there's some difficulties when you talk about aprons and second apron teams trying to make trades, and that's a reality, but there are some teams in the Eastern Conference you could construct an ability to get this done." This revelation comes amid a leaguewide swirl of speculation that Giannis may finally be ready to move on from Milwaukee. With the Bucks suffering yet another postseason letdown and internal uncertainty brewing under head coach Doc Rivers, NBA agents and insiders increasingly believe Antetokounmpo could request a trade this summer. Rivers, for his part, refused to entertain the rumors. 'I talk to him all the time,' he said bluntly when asked about the speculation. Advertisement But NBA front offices aren't moving on. And Boston is now being whispered as a serious, albeit dark-horse, suitor. The Celtics are at a financial crossroads themselves. With a massive luxury tax bill looming and second-apron penalties constricting roster flexibility, the front office is reportedly exploring a fire sale that would keep only the core of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White, while shopping supporting pieces like Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, and potentially even Jrue Holiday depending on their future plans. Despite these tax concerns, Boston has the depth of assets and young talent that Milwaukee might covet in a trade. A package centered around multiple rotation players, future first-round picks, and financial relief could tempt the Bucks if Giannis forces their hand. From a basketball perspective, Giannis paired with Tatum would instantly form the most athletic and versatile forward duo in the NBA, when the Celtics star returns in 2026. Advertisement Tatum's perimeter scoring and playmaking would complement Giannis' slashing dominance and defensive prowess. The question, of course, is whether Boston would be willing to part ways with Jaylen Brown in such a deal. While some analysts believe Boston would prefer to pair Giannis with Brown and Tatum, it's more likely that Brown, along with key depth pieces, would be required to get Milwaukee's attention. The Celtics aren't the only team circling Giannis. The Knicks have the draft capital and the depth to go big. A potential offer could center around stars and three or more first-round picks (including ones from Dallas, Milwaukee, or Washington) Advertisement A blockbuster out West could see the Warriors offer Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, Andrew Wiggins, and multiple future unprotected picks, including their 2026 and 2028 firsts. If Milwaukee sees long-term value in Kuminga's potential and wants to reset the timeline while remaining competitive, Golden State might be a compelling option. The Raptors have long been seen as a stealth candidate for a star trade, especially after pulling off the Kawhi Leonard heist in 2018. Their offer could include Scottie Barnes, Bruce Brown, Chris Boucher, and a war chest of picks. Though more speculative, the most explosive rumor involves a potential Luka Doncic for Giannis swap between the Lakers and Bucks. Each team brings a unique pitch: Boston offers contention and All-NBA talent, New York brings market and draft capital, Golden State adds dynasty appeal, Toronto offers a superstar prospect, and LA comes with the glamour and blockbuster potential. Advertisement Ultimately, Giannis controls much of this saga. If he asks out, Boston's combination of star power, win-now ability, and tradable assets could give them the inside track, even in a race stacked with suitors. Rockets Open To Trading Alperen Sengun For Giannis Antetokounmpo, Per Reports
Ever since the Bucks' season ended, the questions around Giannis Antetokounmpo's future have flooded the NBA media. After a recent report from ESPN's Shams Charania claimed Antetokounmpo is open to considering a future away from Milwaukee, analysts around the world started looking at potential landing spots for the Bucks' superstar. Following this, sources claimed the Houston Rockets and the San Antonio Spurs were frontrunners to land Giannis Antetokounmpo in a trade. Now, according to a report from NBC Sports, the Rockets are open to considering trading Alperen Sengun if it means getting Giannis Antetokounmpo to Houston. Advertisement The Turkish All-Star had a breakout season last year, where he nearly averaged a double-double. After signing a max extension with the Rockets last summer, Sengun averaged 19.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists in 76 games this season. At only 22 years of age, Sengun may be a young star who is promising enough for the Bucks to consider trading Antetokounmpo for. However, the report also states that the Bucks may prefer a trade package centered around Jalen Green instead of Sengun. It also says Jabari Smith Jr will likely be included in the trade package. However, we believe the Rockets can find a trade for Giannis without giving either of these two young players up. At age 30, Giannis Antetokounmpo is in the prime of his career. This season, he averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists in 67 games played. He could be the superstar that the Rockets need to become a true title contender after exiting in the first round of the Playoffs despite a home-court advantage and the No. 2 seed in the season. What Could A Trade Package For Giannis Antetokounmpo Look Like? The Rockets currently have a logjam of young talent struggling to get minutes, like Cam Whitmore and Reed Sheppard. Both promising first-round picks have arguably not yet found a place in Ime Udoka's rotation plans. However, considering the leaps taken this season by the likes of Amen Thompson and Tari Eason, maybe it's time for the Rockets to bid farewell to Dillon Brooks in a potential trade for Antetokounmpo. Advertisement Therefore, I suggest the following trade package for Giannis Antetokounmpo: Milwaukee Bucks get: Alperen Sengun, Dillon Brooks, 2025 first-round pick (pick 10 in the upcoming draft), and 2031 first-round pick Houston Rockets get: Giannis Antetokounmpo Considering that the Bucks will look to rebuild around Sengun in this scenario, the pick for the upcoming draft can be enticing enough for the Bucks to build their future around, and give up Giannis in the process. Sengun is a proven talent who could flourish with Damian Lillard at the Bucks. He should be valued enough by the Rockets to avoid giving up further assets beyond the upcoming pick. Advertisement Including Dillon Brooks in the trade package would help match the salary requirements as well as clear the logjam in the wing talent available for the Rockets. He's a veteran in the league who can help Sengun and the new rookie, whoever they draft with the No. 10 pick, to develop and grow with the Bucks. It's a win-win for both teams. The ideal starting line-up for the Rockets if they trade for Giannis would look something like: PG: Fred VanVleet SG: Jalen Green SF: Amen Thompson PF: Jabari Smith Jr C: Giannis Antetokounmpo With more rotation minutes for Cam Whitmore, Reed Sheppard, and Tari Eason, the Rockets will truly find a balance in growing their young talent and becoming a genuine title contender.
