Horse racing tips: ‘He can fly home with a big weight allowance' – Templegate's 6-1 NAP and one ‘at a huge price'
Back a horse by clicking their odds below.
LOOM (York 2.40, nap)
Richard Fahey's three-year-old gets a hefty weight allowance from his older rivals and he's already shown enough to win this. After a promising comeback fifth at Newmarket last month, he found a lot more when second here in a big field last time. He might have won had he been a bit closer to the pace before flying home. This is his sixth start so he's still learning and there's more to come.
ESTRANGE (2.58 Haydock, nb)
This filly to follow finished last season with a smooth Listed success at Doncaster over 1m2f. She is from the family of St Leger winner Logician so will relish this stiffer test of stamina. She can improve for David O'Meara on just her fourth racecourse outing.
WITCH HUNTER (2.10 Chester, treble)
Looks a massive price after a good effort at Ascot last time. He has copped a handy draw in stall two and has had a nudge down the weights. He'll be right there for Richard Hannon.
YORK
2.40
LOOM ran a cracker here two weeks ago when second in a big field handicap.
That was just his second run of the campaign and he should take another step forward for it.
His draw in stall three should be ideal and he's best over this trip.
JM Jungle has a strong record at York and was second here earlier this month in good company.
The Quinn yard is in decent form and he'll be right there again.
Duran got the job done nicely at Haydock over this trip last time and a 4lb rise keeps him right in the hunt.
Kodiac Thriller got the job done nicely when scooting in over this distance at Thirsk 14 days ago.
An 8lb rise in and hike in grade gives him more to do but he's capable of better.
Bond Chairman could be a big price on debut for a new yard.
He's been out of sorts for a while so has tumbled to 11lb below his last winning mark and this distance is ideal.
3.15
TERM OF ENDEARMENT stormed home to win this last year and can repeat the feat having left Henry De Bromhead for William Haggas.
Her return in Dubai was always going to be a warm-up, especially over a trip that stretches her a little.
She'll love getting back over 1m6f at an ideal track on ground that suits.
Scenic shaped with promise on return at Goodwood last time and looks the main danger.
All her best form has come over 1m4f so far but she was staying on strongly last time and should see this out in decent conditions.
Sueno was behind her last time having just her third start.
She was coming back from a long break so could easily close the gap especially with Ryan Moore in the saddle.
Divina Grace was a well-beaten third in a Newmarket Group 2 latest and needs to prove her stamina for this longer distance.
HAYDOCK
1.48
FINE INTERVIEW has a run under his belt thanks to a neck third in a big field at Donny in March.
He finished last season with an impressive distance win on Town Moor and has more to come.
He will enjoy a little bit of juice in the ground and William Buick can steer him home.
Durham Castle will go very close if fit for this comeback run.
He scored on the sand at Southwell before winning easily on handicap debut at Goodwood in September.
He's up 9lb for that smooth success over this trip but he looks capable of improving past that with the Crisford training ream in decent form.
Tinto finished strongly when beaten on the nod over 5f at Thirsk earlier this month.
He shapes as though going back up in trip will help.
Oisin Murphy getting back on board is a plus for King's Lynn who is on the downgrade but still has enough quality to figure.
Kodi Lion has been second in good company at Ascot and Donny heading here and likes this trip. He could still be improving.
Evergreen Dakota Gold scored at Ripon last time and likes it here. He has place claims up 3lb.
2.23
SHAGRAAN could be overpriced given how well he's been running in hot handicaps.
He was in a blanket finish at Doncaster before running another cracker in a big field at York 16 days ago.
He has winning form over course and distance and doesn't mind dead ground.
Jasour is interesting coming back from a long break. He was third in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at last year's Royal Ascot so has class.
This is his easiest race for a long time on paper and he's gone well fresh before.
No Half Measures looked rusty on comeback at Newmarket earlier this month.
He has some smart form over this trip and should build on that return effort.
Leovanni was a classy two-year-old and won the Group 2 Queen Mary which is top form.
She doesn't want more rain as her Cheveley Park effort on soft ground was her worst of the season.
Rage Of Bamby will be sharper for her comeback struggle at York last time but her best efforts have come over further.
Seven Questions also needed his comeback at HQ and has run well here before.
2.58
ESTRANGE finished last season with an impressive Listed win over 1m2f at Doncaster on soft ground.
She gives the stronger impression that this step up in trip will bring more improvement and there should be a little bit of juice in the ground which she likes.
Shaha took a big step up when moving up to this distance at Goodwood on comeback earlier this month.
She had plenty left in the tank crossing the line and her fitness is assured.
Beautiful Love has her sights lowered slightly after a well-beaten second at York last time.
She isn't screaming out for this longer trip but should see it out.
She needs a little step up to get her head back in front.
The rest need to improve a bundle with Chorus looking the pick despite being no match for Shaha last time out.
She is proven over this distance and may improve for that run.
3.33
ALYANAABI looked a different horse on his first run since being gelded here last time.
He stormed home over course and distance and looks the type to improve as a four-year-old.
Kinross looks the big danger on comeback. He won this way back in 2021 and wasn't disgraced in Group 1s last season.
He may not be the force he was but he still has enough to figure.
Audience landed Group 2 honours at Glorious Goodwood last year before not enjoying himself dropped to 6f.
He is back over his ideal trip here and had a run in Dubai last month so should be fit. His best form would take him close.
Spycatcher landed a cosy win at Doncaster on comeback in March and has held his own at this level before.

Brockenhurst residents complain as donkeys trash new wheelie bins
Livestock breaking into newly-introduced wheelie bins in the New Forest could help spread serious animal diseases, residents and animal owners have Forest District Council recently began a roll-out of wheelie bins and food waste caddies as part of efforts to improve recycling but free-roaming ponies and donkeys have been seen breaking into them and scattering Parry-Norton, chairman of the Commoners Defence Association (CDA), said there was a "real risk" of diseases such as African swine fever and foot and mouth spreading from contaminated food council said it was monitoring the situation and urged residents to report any incidents involving animals. Wheelie bins and caddies are replacing single-use black and clear plastic bags for New Forest residents' domestic and food waste, plus June, the council said it was aware of cases of donkeys in the national park "interacting with waste containers".Caroline Emery filmed a group of donkeys on Horlock Road in the village as well as waste scattered on Fathersfield Road on Friday."When is common sense going to prevail that those living on the side of the cattle grids where animals roam, should be able to keep their bins inside their gates, to prevent this happening and ultimately the death of livestock," she said. Other images posted on social media, showed food recycling bags within donkey droppings, having apparently passed through an animal's digestive village's Green Party ward councillor, Adam Parker, said: "It's happening all over the village – donkeys are intelligent, opportunistic foragers. "I'm really very concerns about health implications for New Forest wildlife." The national park's free-roaming ponies, pigs, donkeys and cattle are owned by commoners - people who own or occupy land with ancient rights Parry-Norton said the issue "would only worsen" when pigs are turned out into the forest in autumn."It is illegal to feed food waste to pigs," he said. "Donkeys are bad but if pigs get into these bins, there is a high risk of diseases like African swine fever or foot and mouth could potentially cost millions."The 2001 foot and mouth outbreak is thought to have originated from pigs being fed catering waste containing the virus. The CDA chairman called for the roll-out of wheelie bins and caddies to be suspended."They need to acknowledge the problem and sort out the problems. The bins are extremely flimsy and not stock-proof," he added,In a statement, the council said: "On a daily basis, we are monitoring the situation, particularly in key areas where we know there may be free-roaming livestock."We recognise that some areas face unique challenges."We remain committed to working with our community to ensure the service works well for everyone, and to deliver a more efficient and environmentally friendly way of managing waste and recycling for the long term."It said bins should be kept on properties until due for collection and food waste caddies should be left out with the handle pushed forward and down to keep the lid tightly move to wheelie bins was given the go-ahead in 2022, with the council insisting they were needed to increase recycling rates, while opponents argued they were unsightly and costly. Saltburn residents frustrated at summer hut refurbishment
Residents are angry at the "terrible timing" of a long-overdue refurbishment of the only shelter on a popular stretch of Victorian replica shelter is a community focal point on the lower promenade at Philip Thomson said it was a "disgrace" the local authority had not taken time to understand the impact on the local community of shutting the shelter in summer.A spokesperson for Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council said the work should be completed over "the next couple of weeks." Thomson said he has raised the issue of unsafe seating in the structure multiple times over the last two said: "On two occasions previously there have been cordons around the area but no work was carried out and the shelter was re-opened."I have asked for a detailed work schedule and a plan for start and finish, but I have been given none of that."Helen Khan, who lives in the town, said: "The shelter is the only one on the lower promenade at Saltburn."It is terrible timing on the council's part and it needs to be repaired as soon as possible as it is such a well used shelter."A council spokesperson said: "The materials are on order and we have an expected timescale for completion over the next couple of weeks. "We appreciate that some residents and visitors may be affected while the work is taking place, however other similar facilities are available on the lower prom." Scott Roche, Croydon cabinet minister for streets and environment, said: "If a park gym is being used properly, you're not going to have people smoking weed there."We think outdoor gyms are a more strategic and inclusive use for a park. They're cheaper to introduce than new playgrounds, and they help tackle anti-social behaviour."However, he admits that change is slower than he would like, and says money is the greatest currently has 10 outdoor gyms, spread across the borough's 127 parks and green spaces. The news comes as Mr Roche and mayor Jason Perry opened a newly resurfaced path in Norbury area remains affected by e-bike misuse and rough sleeping, and speed bumps have been promised to deter cut-through Mr Roche said "we are restricted because it is a public space".Jenni Rodgers, leader of Friends of Norbury Park, said the path marked progress, but that the park still "needs something here that people want to see".A flood alleviation scheme for the area, which would protect 340 homes from flooding and boost biodiversity, has stalled since the pandemic.
