Shrek 5: New film's release date delayed for second time
Although the report didn't give a reason, fans and news outlets have speculated that the delay was to avoid competing with Avengers: Doomsday, Dune: Part III, and Ice Age 6, which are all set to hit cinemas in December 2026.Fans have expressed disappointment at the delay, with one writing on X: "Another delay? At this point my kids will be showing Shrek 5 to their kids."The first film, released in 2001, followed the story of an ogre who wants nothing more than to be left alone, but ends up on a quest to rescue a princess trapped in a tower.Along the way, he gets help from a ragtag bunch of misfits, including a chatty donkey and, later, a boot-wearing cat.It was a huge hit for DreamWorks, making $487m (£362m) worldwide at the box office. The studio then went on to bring back the characters again and again for three more movies.Number five will actually be the seventh film in the wider franchise, which includes two spin-off films - Puss In Boots and Puss In Boots: The Last Wish.
It has been confirmed that Shrek (voiced by Mike Myers), Princess Fiona (voiced by Cameron Diaz) and Donkey (voiced by Eddie Murphy) are all returning for the new movie. The movie's trailer also revealed a new addition to the cast - Fiona and Shrek's teenage daughter Felicia, voiced by actress Zendaya. However, the reaction to the clip was mixed, with some fans taking to X to say they didn't like the new style of animation and it was ugly. Some have compared the reaction to the original movie version of Sonic the Hedgehog, which Paramount Pictures changed in response to a backlash in 2019.Others couldn't be more excited about a return to the kingdom of Far Far Away.

Gisele Bundchen was 'furious' that ex-husband Tom Brady took a shot at her with brutal remarks about parenting
Gisele Bundchen has been left 'infuriated' by her ex-husband Tom Brady 's recent 'petty' remarks about parenting, according to a bombshell new report. The NFL legend divorced his supermodel wife back in October 2022 and the pair have since co-parented their three children, with Gisele recently welcoming a child with her new beau Joaquim Valente. Gisele's anger at Brady un-retiring from the NFL to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the twilight of his career was well-documented, and the quarterback legend appeared to take a swipe at her in a recent newsletter to his fans. According to the National Inquirer, that may have backfired on him - because his ex-wife is now reportedly furious with him and 'ready to hit back hard' if he goes any further. 'People have warned him that Gisele won't stand for it, but Tom's been sitting back and holding his tongue for too long and he can't do it anymore,' an insider told the publication. 'Tom has a different take on parenting than Gisele and he's merely sticking up for himself. At least, that's the way he sees it. The more he reflects on it, the more cross he is about how she treated him during the marriage and how she complained about him pursuing his passion. He just had to say something. 'Word from Gisele's camp is that she's furious and thinks he's acting bitter and being a nuisance. Since they split, all she wanted was to do her thing privately — but now here's Tom needlessly stoking the fire with these statements. 'Tom's pals are saying he should quit making these thinly veiled comments — or at least he should tread more carefully!' The anger was sparked by Brady's newsletter to fans at the end of July, in which he wrote: 'I think part of being a great father is being a great example of doing what it takes to take care of your family. I chose to do it by playing football.' He continued: 'My dedication to the sport, the hours of practice, the moments when I was laser focused - those were times when I believe I was doing the best possible thing for my family and my kids, by prioritizing my profession and teaching, by example, what it takes to be really good at your job, what it takes to follow through on commitments, what it takes to be a great teammate; and showing them, also by example, that work is a big part of all of our lives.' During his career, Brady had often spoken about how grateful he was for Bundchen's role keeping their family together. In October 2021, he said on his 'Let's Go' podcast: 'My wife has held down the house for a long time now, and I think there's things that she wants to accomplish.' Now, in his letter, Brady says: 'Remember, your children are watching everything. They see what you do in every aspect of your life and how you do it. 'Reading bedtime stories and helping them with homework are not the only ways to be a great parent. And neither is winning Super Bowls or MVPs. 'Being a great football player didn't make me a great dad, but how I became a great player certainly had an impact - from showing up day in and day out, to doing whatever it took to get better, be successful, be a role model, and to provide.' Bundchen and Brady had two kids - Benjamin and Vivian - together, while Brady has another son, Jack, from a previous relationship with Bridget Moynahan. Speaking about their split in March 2023, Bundchen insisted she has no lingering animosity towards Brady, telling Vanity Fair: 'I have always cheered for him, and I would continue forever. 'If there's one person I want to be the happiest in the world, it's him, believe me. I want him to achieve and to conquer. I want all his dreams to come true. That's what I want, really, from the bottom of my heart.' But there have been some tough moments between the two in the years since their split - notably when Brady was repeatedly taunted on his Netflix Roast about Bundchen moving on with her jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, who she has since had a baby with.

Brandon Blackstock's death certificate reveals Kelly Clarkson's ex suffered severe symptom amid cancer battle
Brandon Blackstock's death was not an easy one. According to his death certificate, the ex-husband of talk show host Kelly Clarkson suffered from multiple seizures before his passing. The former stepson of Reba McEntire had been fighting skin cancer - malignant melanoma - for three years. He died last week at his home in Butte, Montana at the age of 48. People obtained the death certificate from the Butte-Silver Bow County Clerk and Recorder's office on Thursday. His death is marked as from 'natural causes.' The rodeo producer reportedly had 'significant conditions contributing to death but not resulting in the underlying cause.' No autopsy was performed on Blackstock and he was cremated, according to the death certificate. Brandon was married to the Clarkson from 2013 to 2022; during their marriage, they welcomed two children together, daughter River Rose, 11, and son Remy, nine. The late music manager was also father to daughter Savannah, 23, and son Seth, 18, both of whom he shared with his first wife Melissa Ashforth. Blackstock also became a grandpa in January 2022 when his daughter Savannah welcomed her first child, a son named Lake Lee, with her husband Quentin Lee. Just one month before Brandon's death, his daughter Savannah had announced that she was expecting a second child, a baby girl, with her husband. Meanwhile, the father of Clarkson 's former assistant Brittney Marie Jones, who was dating her ex-husband Blackstock before his death, claims they were 'soulmates.' Jones' dad broke his silence on the matter in a Facebook post that has since been made private. 'Yesterday we lost a good man, Brandon Blackstock, my daughter's soulmate, and I considered him my son,' he wrote on a now private post, seen by Page Six. 'My sincere condolences to Brittney Jones and family. We're sure going to miss your funny humor. R.I.P hoss!' Blackstock's online obituary, released on Tuesday, revealed that he had been in a relationship with Jones and was quietly building a new life with her in Montana, previously unknown to many fans. 'After more than 20 years in the music business, Brandon found his way back to the mountains and the cowboy way of life he always wanted to live,' the obituary read. 'He found a homestead and a love in Butte, Montana.' It went on: 'Brandon, along with his beautiful and loving partner in life and business, Brittney Marie Jones, started building a life, building companies, and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will live on as his legacy, The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana.' In a bombshell revelation, a December 2024 report on Blackstock and Jones' rodeo business listed Jones as Clarkson's 'former assistant.' A prior LinkedIn profile for Jones highlighted in the report reveals she served as an executive assistant to Brandon Blackstock as well as an assistant to Kelly Clarkson while Blackstock managed the singer. 'I successfully assistant managed day to day for artist, Kelly Clarkson under manager, Brandon Blackstock in Los Angeles for music and television,' the profile read, according to The Sun. 'After a change in management for Ms. Clarkson, I transitioned to Executive Assistant for Mr. Blackstock's cattle operation in Montana, where I currently run the office and handle administration work. 'I also currently fulfill personal assistant duties for Mr. Blackstock.' Jones' LinkedIn also identifies her as the Executive Assistant of V Bar V Cattle Co. LLC — formerly Vintage Valley Ranch — one of Blackstock's companies, further tying her to his post-divorce life in Montana. A representative for the family confirmed Blackstock's death in a statement on Thursday, August 7, which read: 'It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. 'Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. 'We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time.' In a statement shared online on Wednesday, August 6, Clarkson revealed a health-related issue with Blackstock forced her to postpone her Las Vegas residency. 'Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,' she wrote. 'While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them. 'I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding,' she concluded. The exes — who split in 2020 and finalized their divorce in 2022 — shared daughter River, 11, and son Remy, nine. In addition to Kelly and their kids, the talent manager is also survived by his pregnant daughter Savannah, 23, and son Seth with ex-wife Melissa Ashworth.

GAMCO sues Redstone for allegedly short-changing Paramount investors in Skydance deal
Aug 14 (Reuters) - Billionaire investor Mario Gabelli's investment fund filed a class-action lawsuit on behalf of Paramount Global shareholders alleging the company's controlling shareholder, Shari Redstone, benefited unfairly at their expense in the $8.4-billion merger with Skydance Media, according to a statement from Gabelli's firm. Gabelli Value 25 Fund and affiliates alleged that Redstone's investment vehicle, National Amusements (NAI), received $60 for each of its Class A Paramount shares while public shareholders only received $23, according to a statement from Gabelli's GAMCO Investors. The lawsuit named as defendants National Amusements, which is now known as Harbor Lights Entertainment, Paramount Global board members, Redstone, and Skydance. A representative of Redstone declined to comment, and Skydance did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the lawsuit, which was filed under seal on Wednesday in Delaware's Court of Chancery. GAMCO said it had an obligation to pursue the lawsuit on behalf of its clients. "GAMCO voiced its concerns early in the process and asked at minimum for more transparency regarding what NAI was receiving for its identical Paramount voting shares," said a statement from Christopher Marangi, co-CIO, Value, of GAMCO Investors. He said GAMCO was forced to redeem its shares for cash. The drawn-out deal with Skydance closed on August 7, creating the Paramount Skydance Corp (PSKY.O), opens new tab. The merger combines Paramount's sprawling global distribution network and prized film and TV library with Skydance's production and technological capabilities. GAMCO was listed in Paramount's 2025 proxy statement as the second-largest shareholder with 11.7% of the company's Class A stock. Marangi said Paramount ignored GAMCO's concerns and did not put the deal to a vote of minority investors, as it said was customary.
