Disney might have quietly canceled a beloved 'Star Wars' show — despite rating 92% on Rotten Tomatoes
"Star Wars" shows have been in a rough spot lately, but "Skeleton Crew" felt like a rare bright spot when it premiered at the end of last year.
The show debuted to rave reviews. It initially scored a 94% "fresh" rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. As of this writing, it still sits at an impressive 92%. Our staff liked it as well. Our own Martin Shore said it was a "refreshing spin on a beloved franchise," and our TV/AV staff writer Ryan Epps also came away impressed.
Unfortunately, though, we may have seen the last of "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew."
One of the stars of the show is Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Fern, a human girl from the planet At Attin who is integral to the show.
If there's a season 2, she'll almost certainly not be coming back. On May 15, Sarah Michelle Gellar jumped on a video call with Armstrong to reveal that she would be the star of the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" reboot, which was then posted to Instagram for all to see (h/t Bam Smack Pow).
Armstrong taking on a lead role in another series almost certainly precludes her from returning for a potential "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew" season 2. It wouldn't be impossible, but it'd be an incredible feat for her to have a starring role in both shows.
However, there's not necessarily a need to bring Armstrong's character, Fern, back for a season 2. The show ends in a way that would satisfyingly wrap up Fern's arc, if needed.

Of course, the problem is that the show satisfyingly wrapped up ... well, everything.
It could stand on its own as a miniseries, and given that "Star Wars" seems to still be in the process of righting the ship, I think they'll probably leave well enough alone and leave a majority of the "Star Wars" TV shows behind.

'We thrive on ideas that make you laugh,' said John Ludeke, the senior vice president of global marketing for Dr. Squatch, in a company news release. He hopes that the soap can be seen in a positive light, with increased conversations about male hygiene and cleanliness. There is a lot of disbelief surrounding the product. Reactions on social media are skewed, with some users criticizing Sweeney's hypocrisy in terms of her being sexualized by men, and other users supporting the product's ability to get men to shower. Despite the controversy, Sweeney is calling the soap 'weird in the best way' and an 'unforgettable' product. How Grindr's new 'Right Now' live feature enables even quicker hookups
Grindr has officially gone live. The app's newest feature, Right Now, is a scrollable feed where users can post photos and text for an hour at a time, letting nearby folks know exactly what they're looking for right now. Unlike the traditional grid view that sorts profiles by proximity, Right Now functions like a stripped-down, sexed-up version of Twitter. Posts disappear after an hour, but users can mark themselves as ready to host (yes, that kind of host) and make their intentions clear upfront. For now, users will receive a few free sessions per week, depending on their location, with the option to purchase additional sessions. Accessing the feed is simple: it's now embedded into the app via a new button on the main grid, the bottom nav bar, or the side drawer. Right Now is part of a larger Grindr overhaul that includes AI-powered tools like A-List (a chat summarizer) and Wingman (an AI flirting assistant). It's all part of the company's plan to revamp its image, recover from a rocky IPO, and cash in on immediacy. Offset Fires Back After Cardi B Goes Instagram-Official With Patriots' Stefon Diggs
Cardi B appears to be moving on with her love life amid her messy divorce from fellow rapper Offset. Over the weekend, the 'WAP' musician went Instagram-official with her rumored new love interest, Stefon Diggs. In a now-viral carousel post on Sunday, Cardi B showed off a picture of herself and the New England Patriots wide receiver cuddled up on the deck of a yacht.
