The following reports were filed Tuesday by the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
A County Road 931 Saltillo woman said a white Tahoe drove through their property and hit a Daily Journal paper box and slung rocks toward the vehicles. One of the rocks cracked the windshield of her 2014 Toyota Camry. She said the truck drives past the residence regularly.
A Drive 1547 Mooreville woman said a German shepherd showed up at their property about a weeks ago. The dog was friendly for the most part but has become territorial over the last few days. She doesn't want her dogs to go near the shepherd which is now showing aggression toward her and its puppies. The deputy explained that there are no leash laws or stray ordinances in the county, but she has the right to protect herself, her family and her pets from aggressive animals.
An employee at Dago's store on Highway 371 noticed a white male sitting outside around 6:30 p.m. He walked out and told the man the store was about to close and he needed to leave. The suspect began arguing and reached into his bag. The employee pulled his gun from its holster, which diffused the argument. The employee went back inside and called 911 while the suspect remained sitting outside. The suspect was gone by the time deputies arrived.
A County Road 1501 Nettleton man said a redheaded white male was wandering on his property around 12:30 a.m. When he asked for the man's name, the suspect said, 'drunk.' The man told the suspect several times that he needed to leave. The suspect replied, 'I'm gonna whoop your (posterior).' The suspect left the property before deputies arrived.

HOBBS, New Mexico (KMID/KPEJ) – The man wanted in connection with a deadly Hobbs shooting that took the life of a teenager has turned himself in. According to the Hobbs Police Department, 20-year-old Michael Alonzo Wynne Garcia surrendered to authorities on the night of June 11, 2025. He was arrested by the Lea County Sheriff's Office in Lovington, New Mexico, and booked into the Lea County Detention Center. Garcia was wanted for murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and aggravated fleeing a law enforcement officer stemming from a June 6 shooting that left 19-year-old Ismael Rios, of Hobbs, dead and another person injured. Police said the shooting happened in the 800 block of East Lincoln. Officers responding to the scene found two people with gunshot wounds. One victim was flown to a hospital for treatment and has since been released. Rios, however, died from his injuries. German activist hailed at Berlin airport after Israeli deportation

A German activist whose attempt to sail to Gaza was intercepted by Israel was welcomed home with loud cheers at Berlin airport on Thursday. Yasemin Acar was on board the Madleen alongside other prominent figures such as Greta Thunberg when it was diverted to Israel on Monday by military forces. She was deported back to Germany, where she was met by a dense crowd of people carrying Palestinian flags and scarves amid chants of "Freedom for Palestine" and "Freedom for Yasemin." In a press conference at the airport, Acar accused Israel of kidnapping the crew members of the Madleen in international waters. "We will not stop," Acar said. "We will come back until we stop the siege." Acar is known to the police for her public appearances and anti-Israel slogans. The reception at the airport was chaotic as people crowded around the activist, with one man lifting her onto his shoulder. Police estimated that at least 100 people were there. The activist group had set sail from Sicily in early June, seeking to bring humanitarian aid such as baby food and medical supplies to civilians in the Gaza Strip, while drawing international attention to the critical humanitarian situation.

Cops Say Handcuffed Car Chase Suspect Steals Police SUV, Starts 2nd Car Chase

A man in Texas is facing multiple charges after authorities say he led police in two high-speed pursuits in one night — including one in which he was handcuffed. According to a report by Fox 4 News Grand Prairie, the man was arrested for allegedly stealing a Cadillac; then, while handcuffed in the back of a police SUV, he stole that vehicle — and the second pursuit began. According to authorities, 22-year-old Kendral Pickett was driving a stolen Cadillac on Interstate 20 in Grande Prairie, Texas; police were called when motorists spotted the car driving erratically and without headlights. ABC 8 Dallas reports that the Cadillac crashed during a pursuit that reached speeds of 100 mph, at which point Pickett fled on foot before eventually being tracked down by a police K-9 unit and arrested. Police say Pickett, who suffered minor injuries during the arrest, was handcuffed and placed in the back of a Chevrolet Tahoe patrol vehicle while awaiting medical treatment. However, the Tahoe did not have a partition between the front and rear seats — so authorities say the suspect managed to wiggle the handcuffs in front of his body, climb behind the wheel of the police SUV and speed away, sparking chase number two of the evening. According to authorities, Pickett reached speeds of 100 mph behind the wheel of the Grand Prairie patrol vehicle before police deployed spike strips, causing the suspect to lose control of the SUV, which rolled down an embankment. Pickett reportedly suffered minor injuries in this second pursuit and left the scene in an ambulance. Pickett now faces two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of evading arrest, one count of escape while arrested and assault on a public servant. A second suspect, whose name has not yet been released, was also arrested. You Might Also Like You Need a Torque Wrench in Your Toolbox Tested: Best Car Interior Cleaners The Man Who Signs Every Car
