"Citadel" Spinoffs "Honey Bunny" & "Diana" Canceled, Will Be Woven Into Season 2 of Mothership Series

'Citadel' spinoffs 'Honey Bunny' and 'Diana' will not be moving forward as individual series at Prime Video.
Instead, their storylines will be woven into the second season of the mothership series 'Citadel,' which is set to premiere next year.
The India-set 'Honey Bunny' and Italian series 'Diana,' both executive produced by the Russo Brothers, followed different sects of the powerful Citadel spy agency for which the show is named.
'While these successful and widely enjoyed international chapters will not continue as individual series, Season 2 of 'Citadel' will be our most exhilarating yet,' Amazon MGM Studios head of television Vernon Sanders said in a statement. 'With high-stakes storytelling, new additions to our amazing cast and bold, cinematic ambition, the new season will deepen the emotional journeys of Nadia, Mason and Orlick against the relentless force that is Manticore. We're excited to share what's next when 'Citadel' Season 2 premieres globally in Q2 of 2026.'
The logline for 'Citadel' Season 2 reads: 'One month after the events of the first season, we find our Citadel spies underground, as they're being hunted by Manticore agents around the world. They're pulled out of hiding to join forces with a new team of unconventional spies when Manticore's Brazilian billionaire Paulo Braga threatens to unleash a cataclysmic piece of technology, built by Citadel's own Bernard Orlick, into the world.'
'Citadel' stars Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Stanley Tucci, and Lesley Manville among its main cast.
The cancellations come despite reported success for both of the spinoffs, with 'Honey Bunny' becoming Prime Video's most-watched series worldwide during its first weekend of release in November and 'Diana' debuting as the streamer's best-launching Italian original in October.
They also follow the departure of Amazon MGM Studios head Jennifer Salke, who shepherded the idea for the series and its global expansion. 'Citadel' not becoming the pop culture phenomenon Amazon expected could have contributed to her exit.

Asser Yassin Joins Hend Sabry in "Dam ala Nahd" TV adaptation
Yara Sameh Egyptian actor Asser Yassin will once again team up with Tunisian actress Hend Sabry in the upcoming TV adaptation of writer and journalist Ibrahim Eissa's latest novel 'Dam ala Nahd." It marks the first collaboration between the two stars on the small screen and their second in 18 years after the 2007 film "'El Gezira." Mariam Ahmadi is directing the series from a script being adapted by Mohamed Hesham Obeya. "Dam ala Nahd" consists of 15 episodes and is produced by Sadek Al-Sabah. The novel follows Mai El Gebali, who had no idea that her exclusive interview with the "butcher" before his execution would turn her life upside down. With each meeting with the "butcher", he reveals secrets he never confessed before during the investigations. Along the way, El Gebali begins to question everything she'd previously believed in, disrupts her relationships, and puts her life in danger. Yassin was recently seen in the TV series "Alby We Moftaho" and Sabry in the hit Netflix TV series "Finding Ola" Season 2. Yassin, born February 25, 1981, began his career on the stage at the American University in Cairo. He was spotted by Director Khairy Beshara to play his first role in the 2006 TV series "Qalb Habiba", followed by the blockbuster "The Yacoubian Building" in 2007, and landed his first major role in a film "Zay El Naharda" in the following year. In the same year, he got his big break playing a leading role in the film "El Waad" (The Promise), starring opposite legendary actor and superstar Mahmoud Yassin. Miley Cyrus Reveals Disney Banned Her from Performing ‘Hannah Montana' Songs After End of Show: 'I Wasn't Allowed To Sing Them'
Yara Sameh Miley Cyrus is opening up about her music career after she left Disney following her run on the 2006 hit sitcom "Hannah Montana." In a new interview, Cyrus explained why she had not performed the songs she popularized on the Disney Channel series, such as 'Best of Both Worlds.' 'After I left Disney, I wasn't allowed to perform any of the Hannah Montana music,' she said on Spotify's The Ringer podcast. 'It's not like I wanted to, I mean performing 'The Best Of Both Worlds' between 'We Can't Stop' and 'Wrecking Ball,' wouldn't have really made sense," Cyrus continued. 'It was still sad knowing those songs have my voice, my face, and I wasn't allowed to sing them.' However, when the superstar was honored as a Disney Legend in 2024, things changed and she was permitted to perform those songs again. 'After being inducted as a Disney Legend, I was given permission to perform those songs in the future, which is pretty cool,' she added. Following her run as the star of Hannah Montana, Cyrus looked to reinvent her image and caused uproar in a series of performances and public appearances. In 2013, she performed at the MTV Video Music Awards, where she twerked on Robin Thicke during the performance of 'Blurred Lines.' During her acceptance speech of the Disney Legend honor, she apologized to Mickey Mouse for her 'malfunction' era, saying, 'I definitely wasn't created in a lab and if I was there must've been a bug in the system which caused me to malfunction somewhere between the years of 2013 and '16. 'Freakier Friday" Trailer Is Here
Yara Sameh The official trailer for Nisha Ganatra's 'Freakier Friday,' starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, has finally been unveiled. The movie is a sequel to the 2003 comedy 'Freaky Friday,' starring Curtis and Lohan as mother-daughter duo Tess and Anna Coleman. According to a press release from The Walt Disney Company, the sequel features a 'multigenerational twist,' with the pic picking up many years after Tess and Anna originally swapped bodies. Anna has a daughter of her own, plus a soon-to-be stepdaughter. Tess and Anna navigate the challenges that come with merging two families and 'discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.' Joining Curtis and Lohan are returning stars Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao. 'The Acolyte' star Manny Jacinto, 'Never Have I Ever' breakout Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Sophia Hammons and Julia Butters have joined the sequel. The original movie, based on Mary Rodgers' 1972 novel of the same name, follows Tess and Anna, a mother-daughter pair. Tess, a widowed mother, is prepping for a big wedding while musician Anna gears up for a gig that could make or break her band. When the two receive a mystical fortune cookie that causes them to swap bodies, they're forced to accept each other unconditionally. Disney officially announced in March 2024 that the sequel was moving forward, with Ganatra directing. The filmmaker and screenwriter has helmed episodes of Hulu's 'Welcome to Chippendales' and Max's 'And Just Like That…' and directed feature films 'The High Note,' starring Dakota Johnson and Tracee Ellis Ross, and 'Late Night,' starring Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson. Andrew Gunn, who produced the first movie, is producing the sequel alongside former Disney exec Kristin Burr, with a script from 'Dollface' creator Jordan Weiss. The sequel is set to release in theaters on August 8.
