Morgan Wallen's Song Jumps 2,700% In Sales In One Week

Forbes4 hours ago
Morgan Wallen continues to dominate the Billboard charts with his album I'm the Problem and the many, many songs featured on its lengthy tracklist. Half a dozen tracks have been pushed as proper singles from the set, and several continue to lead the charge on various rankings and gain across radio formats.
The country superstar recently surprise-dropped a reworking of one album cut, 'Miami.' Originally a solo country track, it now features rappers Lil Wayne and Rick Ross, and that remix has become a hit in its own right, as 'Miami' enjoys a massive sales surge across the United States.
Morgan Wallen's Remix Soars
Interest in 'Miami' exploded after it became a country/hip-hop hybrid. Sales of the track when it was last a solo tune numbered under 200 the week before the Wayne/Ross remix arrived. The following frame, it sold just under 4,000 copies in the U.S., according to Luminate. That's a growth of more than 2,700% from one frame to the next, and it's all thanks to the two hip-hop legends.
'Miami' Tops Country Digital Song Sales Chart
That massive growth in pure purchases helps 'Miami' become a bestseller on a handful of Billboard tallies focused entirely on purchases. The tune debuts at No. 1 on the Country Digital Song Sales chart this week. Wallen earns his eighteenth leader on that list, while both Wayne and Ross hit the top spot on the ranking for the first time.
Wallen has now sent 55 tracks to the list of the top-selling country-only cuts in the U.S., and 45 of those have reached the top 10.
The same tune, which credits all three musicians, opens inside the top 10 on the all-genre Digital Song Sales chart. 'Miami' begins at No. 9 there, where all three superstars collect another smash.
Streaming Success Fuels 'Miami'
'Miami' didn't just sell well following the exciting re-release, it also became a huge win on streaming platforms. The remixed tune, which still hasn't been pushed as a proper single from I'm the Problem, launches in the runner-up spot on the Country Streaming Songs chart, where Wallen blocks himself from ruling. 'What I Want,' his collaboration with Tate McRae, is still in charge 11 weeks into its lifespan on that roster.
The tune also reenters the all-genre Streaming Songs tally at No. 9 — a new all-time high — and it becomes a special top 10 for all involved.
New Peaks Across Multiple Billboard Charts
'Miami' doesn't hit the top 10 on the Hot 100, but it soars to No. 21 as it reenters the list of the most consumed songs in America. That's a new peak for the track, and all three musicians find their way to the tally.
'Miami' is also a new top 10 smash on the Hot Country Songs chart, leaping from No. 40, where it sat in its eighth stay, all the way to No. 5.

Lil Wayne Hits No. 1 For The First Time On An Unlikely Billboard Chart

Lil Wayne is only a few weeks removed from the release of his latest album, Tha Carter VI. That set arrived in early June and launched at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. As the music from his latest era begins to fade, the celebrated hip-hop superstar returns to several Billboard charts with an unlikely tune — one that sees him score not just another No. 1, but his first champion on a genre tally. Lil Wayne's Country No. 1 Wayne opens at No. 1 on the Country Digital Song Sales chart this week. The tally ranks the bestselling country-only tunes across America on digital download storefronts like iTunes and Amazon. He hits the top spot as a featured artist on the remix of Morgan Wallen's 'Miami.' That tune appears on Wallen's latest massive full-length I'm the Problem, and while it was originally a solo cut, the country powerhouse recruited Wayne and fellow rapper Rick Ross to help reinvent the track, turning it into a multi-genre crossover win. Lil Wayne and Rick Ross on the Country Charts Wayne is brand new to the Country Digital Song Sales chart, as is Ross. Both musicians make it to the top spot on their first attempt. The hip-hop heavyweights also open in the runner-up spot on the Country Streaming Songs tally and break into the top 10 on the Hot Country Songs chart, where 'Miami' rockets from No. 46 to No. 5. The tune goes from being a completely solo cut to a joint win for all three names. 'Miami' Soars on Multiple Rankings 'Miami' performs so well that it reaches several of Billboard's charts that aren't focused solely on country music. The track reenters the Streaming Songs ranking at No. 9, and now that it belongs to all three stars, Ross collects his sixth top 10 there and Wayne snags his sixteenth. 'Miami' also debuts in the same position — ninth place — on the Digital Song Sales chart thanks to 4,000 pure purchases, according to Luminate. Ross scores an eighth top 10 on the list of the top-selling tunes in the country, while Wayne has now nabbed 38 placements between Nos. 1 and 10 on the tally.

Billie Eilish's Second Bestseller Reaches A Momentous Landmark

Once a Billie Eilish album hits the Billboard 200, it rarely disappears. The singer-songwriter has released three full-lengths throughout her career, and almost every week, all of them live on Billboard's ranking of the biggest titles in the United States. That's true again this frame, so a trio of wins is nothing new for the Grammy winner — but one of her projects hits a special landmark she's only seen once before. Happier Than Ever Hits a Major Milestone Happier Than Ever, Eilish's sophomore full-length, climbs ever so slightly on the Billboard 200 this frame, inching from No. 196 to No. 193. The project moved 8,900 equivalent units in the past tracking period, according to Luminate — almost exactly the same number as the period before. What makes this moment so special for Happier Than Ever is the fact that it has now spent 208 weeks, or four full years, on the list. Billie Eilish's Three 200-Week-Charters Eilish has now seen three different works rack up four years of stays on the Billboard 200. Her debut full-length When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? Remains her longest-lasting hit, with 331 frames to its credit. Don't Smile at Me, her EP which preceded her debut album, has spent 269 turns on the tally. Unlike her trio of full-lengths, Don't Smile at Me doesn't regularly live on the Billboard 200, but it has easily passed four years on the roster. Billie Eilish's No. 1 Albums Both When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? and Happier Than Ever are tied as not just Eilish's only No. 1s on the Billboard 200, but her longest-running champions. The two spent three frames running at the summit, separated by two years. Multiple Billie Eilish Albums Reappear Happier Than Ever is enjoying a big week on the Billboard charts. In addition to reaching four years on the Billboard 200, the set returns to both the Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums rankings at Nos. 24 and 48, respectively. So far, Eilish's second complete project has yet to crack 208 frames on either of those lists, but it's likely only a matter of time before it does so. When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? barely manages to hang on in second-to-last place next on the Billboard 200, adding again to its growing total number of frames on the list. Just like Happier Than Ever, it also returns to the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart at No. 49, one space below its successor. Hit Me Hard and Soft Continues to Lead Eilish's biggest win at the moment when it comes to albums is Hit Me Hard and Soft. Her 2024 full-length is still performing spectacularly well. On the Billboard 200, it holds at No. 22. The project leads the Top Alternative Albums ranking and keeps in third place on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart. It also appears on both the Top Album Sales and Top Streaming Albums tallies as well.
