Make way for the new Tata Altroz
One of the biggest reasons people prefer hatchbacks is the space they offer within a compact, stylish body. Just under four metres in length, they are easy to drive and convenient to park in tight spaces, making them a practical choice for many.
At the same time, they provide ample cabin room for passengers and decent boot space. Hatchbacks remain a crucial part of India's mobility landscape, and the Tata Altroz has been a strong contender in the premium hatchback segment since 2020. The Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20 are other notable players in this category.
Now, to pull ahead, Tata Motors has rolled out a major facelift for the Altroz, complete with tech updates to appeal to modern buyers. At an introductory price of D 6.89 lakh, there are two automatic transmission options to choose from — DCA and AMT. The multi-powertrain lineup includes petrol, diesel, and iCNG variants.

From zig-zag manoeuvres on tight corners to high-speed tests on the circuit's long straights, the SUV handled it all with surprising ease. But the biggest surprise? It pulled a 1.5-tonne army tank. Yes, you read that right—an electric SUV towing a tank, and doing it effortlessly. Power-Packed Performance This extraordinary performance is made possible thanks to the Harrier EV's dual-motor setup and a high-voltage battery pack. Tata hasn't revealed the exact figures yet, but the electric SUV is expected to offer all-wheel drive (AWD) capability and strong torque delivery from the get-go. The steering felt sharper than its ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) sibling, and regenerative braking was tuned to perfection—strong enough to assist in tight corners without being too aggressive. Despite the Harrier EV being a large SUV, it handled the twists and turns of the Buddh circuit better than expected. Vehicles parked for over 8 days maybe scrapped in Goa. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced that vehicles parked in the same spot for more than eight days will be treated as abandoned and face direct scrapping. Owners will be issued notices and given a final eight-day window to remove their vehicles. If they fail to do so, the vehicles will be seized and sent for scrapping, with no option left for the original owner to reclaim them. Over 250 abandoned vehicles already seized in Panaji The move comes as part of a broader road safety and traffic management campaign launched by the state government. CM Sawant recently pointed out that abandoned vehicles are becoming a nuisance, especially along newly widened roads. So far, 250 such vehicles have already been confiscated in Panaji alone. Sawant also came down hard on roadside garages that leave damaged or unused vehicles on public roads, further choking traffic flow. Tata Curvv EV and Nexon EV get lifetime warranty
Tata Nexon EV is one of the most popular electric vehicles in India. The Curvv EV is the most affordable coupe electric SUV in the market. Check Offers Tata Motors is preparing to launch a lifetime warranty with unlimited kilometres for the Curvv EV and Nexon EV. The 'lifetime' here refers to the period of fifteen years from the first date of registration of the vehicle at the local RTO office. Even the existing owners will be able to get these benefits. It is important to note that owners of only the 45 kWh Nexon EV are eligible for this benefit. For the second registration onwards, the warranty will be 8 years or 1,60,000 km for the Nexon EV 45 and Curvv EV. Tata says that all the owners after the first one need to inform the brand about the ownership transfer or else the battery warranty will not be offered. Tata unlimited warranty terms and conditions Tata Motors has set a few terms and conditions that the buyer will have to follow to retain his or her unlimited warranty. The vehicle must be serviced or repaired at an authorised service station, following the maintenance schedule recommended by TATA Passenger Electric Mobility Limited. Registration of the vehicle should be done in the name of private individuals. Registrations made under the company perk car scheme for employees, including subsequent transfers of the vehicle to the same employee. The warranty shall be null and void if the vehicle is transferred or sold to any third party. The vehicle must maintain an active & uninterrupted connection throughout the entire ownership period. The battery must be free from any physical damage or tampering. In case of replacement/repair of HV battery during the warranty period, will bring the energy capacity of the HV battery to a value equal to steady state SOH before battery replacement or at 80 per cent, whichever is higher.
