The Cleveland Browns were widely expected to target adding more wide receiver talent during the 2025 NFL offseason. However, that has not been the case so far.
Even in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Browns opted to not take a wide receiver. That was a big-time surprise, but there is still time for the team to make a move at the position.
In order to add the kind of impact piece Cleveland truly needs, it's likely that a trade would need to be made. There are a few potential targets the Browns could pursue should they choose to get aggressive.

He spoke out on his show, "The Hanford Dixon Show," and urged Cleveland to pull off a trade for New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave. The Browns have reportedly been in contact with the Saints regarding an Olave trade this offseason.
"The Browns better be looking to add another wide receiver, because that's one area we are lacking big time. [...] I mean, we all know, Chris Olave at Ohio State, this guy is just amazing," Dixon said. "I mean, the things that he can do at wide receiver, get open, catch the football, a game breaker, those type of guys, he could be a nightmare for a defensive back or cornerback. I think that would be a great, great move.... I just think that's just a perfect fit."
Olave has dealt with concussion enters since entering the NFL as the No. 11 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. If Cleveland were able to pull off a trade to land him, he would form a lethal long-term duo alongside Jerry Jeudy.
Last season, the 24-year-old wide receiver was only able to play in eight games. Back in 2023, however, he played in 16 games and racked up 87 receptions for 1,123 yards and five touchdowns.

Sports Illustrated NFL insider Albert Breer was the first to report that the Browns have already shown interest in Olave. He also reported that New Orleans turned down their trade interest.
Acquiring Olave would not come cheap, but it would be well worth the investment by Cleveland. He could be the piece that takes the offense to the next level.
It would not be surprising to see the Browns call the Saints again with interest. However, there is no guarantee that New Orleans will change its mind on trading the young wideout.

Bills QB Josh Allen marries actress Hailee Steinfeld: Photos from wedding
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen won his first NFL MVP award in February. A few months later, he is celebrating another major life milestone. Allen and his fiancée, actress Hailee Steinfeld, were married Saturday in California. Images from their wedding were shared by and circulated on social media. Steinfeld – known for her starring roles in "True Grit," for which she received an Academy Award nomination,"The Edge of Seventeen" and two "Pitch Perfect" sequels – began dating Allen in 2023. They were spotted together several times before making their first public appearance together in a suite at a Buffalo Sabres game. The two attended several major events together, including Paris Fashion Week in March 2024, before making their relationship public after a year of speculation. The couple became engaged in November 2024, as Allen announced in an Instagram post. Steinfeld called it the most "magical" day of her life while Allen relished the opportunity to surprise her with the proposal. "I said I couldn't wait any longer. I said I can't wait to start a family with you. I said your full name, and I asked you very nicely. I said please," Allen said of popping the question in an interview with Steinfeld for her Beau Society newsletter. "You were extremely surprised, you said yes, and that was all that mattered to me. And the sun was out." It wasn't initially known when Allen and Steinfeld would be married. However, Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins appeared to hint at it when asked if he had any weddings upcoming during a March appearance on NFL Network's "Good Morning Football." "Soon to come, May 31, it's happening," Dawkins said. Indeed, it did. Now, with one ring wrapped up, Allen can focus on earning another as he looks to lead the Bills to their first Super Bowl win in franchise history. All the NFL news on and off the field. Giants' Front Seven Just Became a Quarterback's Worst Fear
Giants' Front Seven Just Became a Quarterback's Worst Fear originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New York Giants are looking to bounce back from a historically disappointing 2024 season, and while much attention has focused on drafting quarterback Jaxson Dart, their defense might be the real story heading into 2025. With the addition of third overall pick Abdul Carter alongside established star Brian Burns, the Giants may have assembled one of the most dangerous pass-rushing tandems in the entire league. Advertisement Even before adding Carter, the Giants' defensive front was already considered among the NFL's most talented units with Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Dexter Lawrence. Now, with Carter joining this group, the Giants' pass rush could reach elite levels. What was once a defensive weakness has evolved into potentially the team's greatest strength. Brian Burns proved in his first season with the Giants that the investment was well worth it. He recorded 8.5 sacks, 42 tackles and two forced fumbles while posting a career-high 79.2 Pro Football Focus grade. His 82.9 pass-rush grade and 61 total pressures both represented the second-highest marks of his career. At 27 years old, Burns is entering his prime with the perfect supporting cast around him. Abdul Carter enters the NFL with a college resume that suggests immediate impact potential. The former Penn State star dominated college football in his final season, accumulating 68 total tackles, 12 sacks and two forced fumbles in 16 games. He led the FBS with a 92.4 PFF pass-rush grade and 66 total pressures while ranking in the top five nationally with a 22.6 percent pass-rush win rate. The comparisons to Micah Parsons aren't made lightly—both players share similar physical attributes and the rare ability to impact games from multiple positions. Pro Football Focus has already ranked Carter as the 20th-best pass rusher heading into the 2025 season before he's even taken an NFL snap. Advertisement What makes the Burns-Carter pairing so potentially devastating is how their skill sets complement each other. Burns brings veteran savvy and proven NFL production, while Carter offers explosive athleticism and raw talent. Together with Thibodeaux and Lawrence, the Giants suddenly have four legitimate threats that offensive coordinators must account for on every snap. This depth provides defensive coordinator Shane Bowen with incredible flexibility in game planning and keeps opposing offenses guessing about where pressure will come from. While expectations for the Giants' overall season remain tempered following their 3-14 finish, the emergence of this defensive front could change the trajectory of individual games and potentially the season. In a division featuring high-powered offenses and experienced quarterbacks, having a pass rush capable of consistently disrupting timing could be the difference between respectability and continued struggles. For Giants fans still reeling from last season's disappointment, the potential of watching Burns and Carter terrorize opposing quarterbacks provides genuine reason for optimism as the 2025 season approaches. Odell Beckham Jr. says he "never, ever wanted to leave the Giants"
In late August of 2018, the Giants signed receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to a contract extension. Within weeks, things got weird. Within months, the Giants traded Beckham to the Browns. On Saturday, Beckham said he didn't want to go. 'I never, ever wanted to leave the New York Giants,' Beckham said during the CBS coverage of the UEFA Champions League final, via Fox 'The reason you heard me talking about what was going on was because I was pissed because, where I come from in college, if we lost one game, our season was over.' He nevertheless said plenty about what was going on, as it was going on. In a surreal early October interview with Josina Anderson, then of ESPN, with Lil Wayne sitting alongside Beckham, the one-time dominant receiver was asked whether the Giants had an issue at quarterback, under Eli Manning. 'Uh, I don't know,' Beckham said. Asked at the time whether he's happy in New York, Beckham said, 'That's a tough question.' Even after Beckham was traded, he spoke openly about his unhappiness in New York. 'I can't do this anymore,' Beckham told GQ regarding his mindset during his last year in New York. 'I just can't do it. I wasn't happy. I wasn't in a good place. And like I told you earlier, I feel like everything is about happiness, and I just was not.' He wasn't happy. But he never, ever wanted to leave? The reality is that he had it worse with the Browns, who eventually released him after the 2021 trade deadline. Beckhamthen landed with the Rams, where he played with a torn ACL until his knee gave out during Super Bowl LVI. He then missed all of 2022, spent 2023 with the Ravens, and had a disappointing 2024 with the Dolphins, who cut him late in the year. He had no takers and still has been linked to no NFL team. By all appearances, the 32-year-old Beckham likely won't return to the NFL. All in all, his career was a success. He owns a Super Bowl ring. He had five 1,000-yard seasons. But with 579 catches and 7,987 career receiving yards, a career that once seemed destined for Canton will likely be remembered primarily for one very memorable one-handed catch in 2014 and otherwise unfulfilled potential.
