Mahindra adds Dolby Atmos to Thar ROXX, elevates audio experience
Popular Indian car maker Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. on Friday, May 30, announced the debut of Dolby Atmos in the Mahindra Thar. Available in the Thar ROXX AX7L variant, Mahindra says this makes the popular three-door version of the car, which happens to be the company's second-best-selling SUV after the Scorpio, the first in the world to feature an integrated 4-channel immersive audio backed by Dolby Atmos.
The Thar ROXX AX7L comes with Gaana integrated into the infotainment system, making it easy to find and play your favourite music. To give you a quick recap, the Thar ROXX also features a premium 9-speaker Harman Kardon-branded audio system in addition to Dolby Atmos support.
Whether you are driving through the city streets or finding your way on challenging off-road trails, Mahindra says Dolby Atmos will allow the 'sound to move freely around you with unmatched depth and realism.' According to Financial Express, Mahindra sold 10,703 Thars earlier this year in April, noting a 74 per cent growth year on year.
'We are excited about the possibilities that our collaboration with Mahindra can bring for customers, especially in India. With Dolby Atmos in Thar ROXX AX7L, we're taking the car journey to an entirely new level by transforming the interior cabin into a personalised concert hall on wheels, making every ride an immersive audio experience that complements the adventurous spirit of the Thar ROXX AX7L'', said Karan Grover, Senior Director of Commercial Partnerships at IMEA, Dolby Labratories.
While the petrol version of the Thar ROXX only supports automatic transmission, the diesel version comes with both manual and automatic transmission. The petrol version of the vehicle is powered by a 2-litre engine that outputs 174 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. The petrol version of Thar ROXX AX7L starts from Rs 20.69 lakh, while the diesel variant starts from Rs 19.79 lakh. Keep in mind that these are ex-showroom prices, so the on-road price will be a bit higher.

Indian beauty products retailer Nykaa's profit surges on demand for premium products
Reuters Revenue from Nykaa's fashion apparel business climbed 11% to 1.61 billion rupees in the quarter. Indian beauty products retailer Nykaa, on Friday, posted a fourth-quarter profit that nearly tripled year on year as premium brands continued to attract urban consumers. The company, listed as FSN E-Commerce Ventures, said its consolidated net profit rose to 202.8 million rupees ($2.4 million) in the quarter, from 69.3 million rupees a year ago. Nykaa's total revenue, over 92% of which comes from its beauty products, jumped nearly 24% to 20.62 billion rupees. Sales of beauty products, including from international brands such as Estee Lauder and singer Rihanna's Fenty Beauty, increased 25% to 18.95 billion. The premium segment in India's $28 billion beauty and personal care industry has defied a broader slowdown in urban consumption as upper middle class and richer consumers continued to splurge on discretionary items. Higher sales of premium products helped Nykaa's gross margins expand by 151 basis points to 44.1% in the quarter. The company's net profit also got a boost from total expenses rising 23%, less than total revenue growth, to 20.31 billion rupees. Revenue from Nykaa's fashion apparel business climbed 11% to 1.61 billion rupees in the quarter.

Once we receive funds, pensions will be paid," he explained. Pensioners Association president K Mahadev stated that the situation is worrying. "The pension fund became empty due to the excess recruitment of temporary non-teaching staff," he alleged. "The university authorities recruited hundreds of excess non-teaching staff. Politicians, irrespective of party affiliation, secured jobs for their candidates in the university. There is no space for these staff to sit in the departments. These excess recruitments resulted in the financial crisis," he alleged.
